It seems to me that the best strategy for a brand new cam model wanting to attain long(ish)-term success working at MFC is to gain experience at another site just to get comfortable in front of the camera and members, all the while perving at MFC to see what does and doesn't work for other models, and thinking about what would best work for her. Once the model has decided on how she wants to present herself, based on her strengths and weakness, she will be ready for MFC.
Then she would time her start at MFC so that she will be able to devote a large amount of time and, especially, energy to building up her cam score during your first 60 days to exploit the averaging and obtain the maximum visibility during that time. After the 60 days, a model's camscore may begin to diminish, but the visibility she attained during will have helped her gain a member following that will remain at least somewhat loyal, and will prevent her from quickly sinking into obscurity afterward, even if she needs to slack a bit.
Oh, and I don't foresee any greater transparency with respect to camscore. For all we know, the various camscore criteria may even vary in weight from one month to another in order that no one behaviour can become the focus.
