Is there some kind of etiquette to signing in as a model and going into other models' rooms? Maybe just the models we're actually friends with or otherwise know?

It varies from model to model. Some models don't want the existence and mentioning of another woman in the room and som are more chill..

I speak for myself here:

- models are welcome to come in my room and even say hello and chat.

- as much as I like chatting with them it is rude when they try and steal the spotlight on purpose. I feel confident but sometimes it slows down the tipping and my room loses structure.

- do not message members in my room and ask them to come "teep" you. You are embarrassing yourself and annoying people.

-do not trash talk me. If I am nice enough to let you in my room please show some respect. I may not be everyone's cup of tea but calling me "ugly" "fat", "how I'm scamming people because I don't show pussy" or how "ppl teep me only because I speak engrish but I just sit there and do nothing" and how that should "teep" you instead is likely to destroy your model career and make YOU look bad. (FYI those were all said to me by models)

-do not come in a models room and ask to have pm priveladges. It doesn't matter if you are a model too and you have a pussy. Respect that she is trying to make a living and you are taking up the time she could give to her members. If you want to contact a model just mfc mail her.

- I have had new models message me and ask for help. I seriously don't mind that as long as the model is nice about it. My advice was based on my camming style and it may or may not work for other models. I tell them that and also suggest they join the forum.

-it's nice when models tip, but its not mandatory. I know how hard some of us work to make those tokens and I appreciate when they do that, but sometimes it's hard to tip every model you like.

Most models who don't want to deal with this have model accounts blocked from entering their room. I find it to be really irritating to browse on my model account because I am blocked from entering so many rooms. I would much rather sign on to my premium account and check out models there.

When I spend time with models I know, most of them recognize me or have an inkling about who I am because my premium name has Evvie in it.

When I was on MFC, I personally disliked it when models I did not know came in to my room, because they were almost definitely A) promoting themselves, PMing members, et cetera, or B) ruthlessly cheerleading, ordering members to tip me, and ruining the casual vibe I prefer to have. However it was always really nice to see models I did know!

If I ever perv on my model account, I like to go in, politely say hello, and contribute to the conversation where appropriate. I feel however that it is better for me to perv on my premium account, as I can tip when I want to. So as far as interacting with other models on your model account, I think being polite and unobtrusive are the key.

When I perv on other ladies, I try to keep as quiet as possible unless I have a really good feel for the room. I think Conner's room on CB is the only place where I actually talk a lot because her group is just funny as hell. I have a really bad habit of perving on ladies and then getting so starstruck/shy that being called out would only freak me out more, especially when I can't even tip to thank them.

I love when models come into my room. Aedan and Lily came by once with some of their members and it was a very special day for me.

I feel like as a model, you should be aware that it's HER room. I literally view it as we work in this place and everyone has their own physical room and the model is up on a stage entertaining and chatting with her members. Some are hula-hooping, some are doing stand up comedy, most of them are half naked... but it's their element. They work hard to build this persona, this brand, and it takes a lot to maintain that. So I prefer to stand in the back, so to speak, and just soak up the good vibes while I can, because it can be really inspiring to be in a room where the model is doing really well and her regulars treat her nicely. I wouldn't want to steal that thunder from her because she doesn't deserve that. Nobody does.

I have had one or two models come into my room and ask me for advice while I'm working. That shit isn't cool. Not that I don't want to help, because I LOVE helping, but I'm friggin' working yo.

Basically, when it comes to ethics, don't be a basic bitch and keep your hands/bad feels to yourself. When you're operating under your camgirl persona, whether you are actually online making money or not, you still have to be professional. That goes for twitter, tumblr, or wherever else you have an online presence. People remember shit, and drama doesn't make anyone look good.

You should use a premium account when entering another model's room, or just visit her room in guest or basic mode. You could unintentionally be taking the spotlight off of her when you go in there under your own model name. Plus some guys on MFC act like total groupies when they see that there's a second model in the room.

Also, supposedly (during the days of the old MFC model software), it was harmful to your cam score if you went into a fellow model's room under your own model account. I'm not sure if that was true at the time, or just another cam score myth. I've asked about this in a recent post, but I don't think anyone had answered me.

I have gotten so much help from models. I was not shy about asking for help. I despise models that openly badmouth other girls, granted everyone has a bad day, but if that is how you try to gain followers than shame on you.

The few times I had my room open for model accounts, one of those things happened. :( I don't want to deal with that additional stress factor, that's why I don't allow model accounts in my room.
I could never visit a girl on my model account, I would feel so intrusive... :? You also have to remember that as soon as there's another model in the broadcasting model's room, her name and font are as big as the other model's name, and her name appears right underneath hers in the userlist. There's no way NOT to stand out.

However, I LOVE having fellow models in my room on their premium accounts! It makes me nervous and I get stagefright, especially when it's girls I admire, but I still love it. 2 or 3 weeks ago there was a night when I had 7 ACF girls in my room at different points during my shift. That was SO cool. And they were all on their premium accounts of course, and none of them was drawing any attention to the fact that she was a model. They all just kinda blended in with the other members in the room.
I think every MFC model should have a premium account. If it's not for visiting other models, it should at least be to check out what everything looks like from a premium member's side.
