It's funny if you thought the Jesse James movie was a self-important joke.

Not all parodies are funny look at "Date Movie" "Epic Movie" "Disaster Movie" "Meet The Spartans" "Vampires Suck" "Dance Flick" "Scary Movie 3 and 4". If anything a parody is to mock or make fun of something.
