Don't really understand the insanity around Black Friday. If you're a good shopper, here you can get the same or better prices most of the year.
I saw a TV ad for a big outlet mall the other day that part of the background music was Steely Dan "when black friday comes"... :-D

Jesus! People are sad.

I was waiting for someone to scream "Sabbath-Mosh!!" and then a big ass brawl start up. :shifty:

I don't do Black Friday Christmas shopping, because it would just feel weird for me to do my shopping that early. People sometimes change their minds - within that one-month time frame - about what they want...especially when they see new commercials and ads in the paper. I like having that additional month (Christmas month) to get my money together and figure out what to get for this and that person. Plus, I prefer to do it on a December weekday when buses are running and my son is in school.

New York Jets stuff (for Dad) is hard to find in stores, as well as Frank Sinatra stuff (for my "Pop-Pop"), so I just get those things online. :)

Oh, and I dislike crowded lines and people behind me (in a hurry) jamming their carts up my ass...lol.

I just watched the first 8 seconds of that video and thought Sheesh!!!. Walmart is one of my favorite stores.

At the same time, I love all of the people in the video that act shocked and outraged. It's the same thing in the mosh pit at concerts. There is always that person who gets into the thick of things, and then acts outraged when the pushing and shoving happens. Sometimes, I think these people know exactly what's going to happen and love the drama of acting offended.

I got 11 of 15. :) Just gotta knows the signs of shopping vs. stealing. I guess previous retail experience helped me spot the people who weren't trying to shop.

It's like at some point it was just tacitly decided that normal rules didn't apply anymore and the strong and quick get what they want. Really clear and somewhat disturbing indication of how closely balanced we are on a knife-edge between society and anarchy.

Man loses car containing his girlfriend's two year old child in the store parking lot. Does the adult thing, and calls a friend to get his new big screen TV home. Link

Some people have seriously fucked up sense of priorities. But should not the story read he was babysitting his EX-girlfriends infant? Any girl that keeps that loser needs her head examined.

Yeah well, two further questions:
1) how responsible is the mother that she leaves the child with this doofus?
2) why isn't the baby's father babysitting it if the mother is busy?

1. I don't think it's fair to just assume that the mother is irresponsible. She didn't know something like this was gonna happen. Irresponsible would've been if she left her child home alone while she went to work. The boyfriend is the irresponsible one here. The only thing the mother is guilty of is putting her trust in the wrong person, and ALL OF US have done that.

2. You're assuming that the baby's father is even around.

Yeah but if she's the guy's girlfriend and willing to leave her child with him, one might think she knows enough of him to make a basic judgement. I'm certainly not saying she's responsible in the same way the guy is, but I would think she probably either knew him well enough to know he wasn't a good guardian for the child, OR she didn't know him well enough to leave her child with him in the first place.

As to the father, that was kind of my point :p

Yeah, she THOUGHT she knew her boyfriend enough to trust him around her child. Now she knows differently. I don't think she'll be asking that moron to watch her kid again, unless she's an idiot.

Did the article say the guy is not the father of the child?

Her: What are you doing tomorrow?
Him: I'm headed to Black Friday to try and get a good deal on a big screen TV
Her: Could you babysit my baby too?

He's going shopping on black friday! it's her dumb ass fault. She should just be happy he didn't use the baby as some sort of shield during all the chaos and destruction.

In her defense, I know plenty of guys who swear up and down that they never go to black friday sales, but are usually the first in line when the day comes. For all we know, she didn't think she needed to ask that, because he gave off the impression he doesn't deal with the shit.

Yes, she obviously trusted the wrong person, but it happens. We have to trust somebody sometime, and doing so is going to get us burned once in awhile. Hopefully, she ditches him. When you put your trust in someone else and they break it, if they've never broken it before, then it's their fault, not yours.
