Asian homepage closes

I kind of saw this coming when I went to the AHP last week one time and saw like 100 models online compared to 750 on the main page and just thought to myself they should close the asian page and merge it. Didn't expect them to just boot a bunch of models though, that seems kinda unfair to them.

Yikes :/ this has to be tough if they're relying on this income. I'd rather they do away with studios than with. Nationalities/countries. Or specify a certain level of English language known. Pretty clearly that's what it's about if we have Caucasian girls living in Asia (like Mila and also I used to) and plenty of US/UK/AUS born Asians. I dont even think it was fair to put them on a different home page to begin with based on this.

Not sure about that October 31st thing. The Asian homepage has already closed. At least the link is the same as the one for the regular homepage, and brings you to the regular homepage.

As of 7:30pm for me the link for the asian homepage is still there for me. Less than 200 hundred models online which seems very low from the last time I visited.

Not sure about that October 31st thing. The Asian homepage has already closed. At least the link is the same as the one for the regular homepage, and brings you to the regular homepage.

The homepage is still there, just the Asian Lounge (the real one) was removed

I'm wondering where exactly they will migrate into the homepage. Will they start @ 1000 or lower, or be given a bogus higher score and displace the other homepage girls that are struggling to make it ?

Also, speaking of the many rules the Asian pages constantly seem to break, I notice many Columbians also breaking many of the same rules. It seems Leo simply needs to decide to enforce his supposed "rules" .... maybe even hire a person just for that region. Yes, it is selective by region/race... so what? If a particular region is constantly disregarding the rule, they need more focus that the rest of you girls that play the game right...[or close to it at least]. It's no different than increased police patrol in high crime areas Vs more affluent areas with less crime :twocents-02cents:

MFC had a way to convert Asian Camscore into regular Camscore, so I'd assume they'd just xfer over at that rate. Just guessing, though.

They're from the Asian homepage, not another planet. The Asian HP was discriminatory to begin with. There's nothing unfair about it.

If they reached the Homepage they have 2 camscores depending on which page you access them from.

The conversion is Asiancamscore devided by approx 4 = main page score.

Only mainpage camscores get listed on their profiles.

Also asiancamscores have been frozen/locked, If they are not on HOMEPAGE now then they won't be after OCT 31st. So no last minute large tippers trying to push them onto the Homepage.

Yeah more likely just from the Philippines... I saw today two new girls with sign up dates of Sept '11 from Thailand and I never thought that there was any problems with the Chinese, Korean or Japanese girls... most problems stemmed from ID abuses with the Philippines studio system...

That being said, I heard this morning that some Philippines studios are claiming that they can get the girls back within the month. They like a challenge obviously... :lol: :lol: :lol:

But surely MFC can keep some sort of ID checking procedures in place to check women's ages and stuff - none of what has happened in the Phillipines about models switching accounts or submitting fake ID is any less possible anywhere else in the world. It's just endemic because of those unprincipled studios.

My guess is, MFC's decided it's all a bit too hard to deal with for the amount of money those models bring in so they're being culled, and I hate the idea of picking on the ones earning the least because they're the hardest hit by unemployment.

Yeah. I agree. The financial situation for most girls out there prohibits many of them being able to set up on their own, thus the studio system has managed to thrive and fill that gap. Unfortunately, with too many unchecked greedy bastards in charge of many, it is also bending and breaking so many rules in the process, especially in ID checking, that it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. When I have talked to a few of the girls over the last couple days it is evident that this has come as a big shock for many of them. Not only do they lose a job... bad enough in itself, but also their friends and co-workers and in many cases their homes too...

Despicable as the studio system can be, taking everything from the girls in one fell swoop when it is after all no fault of theirs, is pretty harsh.

There are many Philippine girls who usually spend time off the site at the end of a payment period though, so absence from MFC doesn't always mean they are gone, but I also know some are looking to open new accounts with other cam sites like LJ to see if they can keep working... though even that is dependent on their studio also surviving.

They are between one big fucking rock and big fucking hard place. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The wording of the announcement is really odd too, why would they have to close the lounge immediately for legal reasons?

Unfortunately, effective October 31 2011, we are closing the Asian Homepage portion of MyFreeCams.com, which is where models from the Philippines broadcasted their webcams. The Asian Lounge had to be closed effective immediately.
This immediate change was required for legal reasons and there was nothing we could do to avoid it. We are truly sorry. We cannot provide any more details.
