I'll go first; I find standing desks invaluable. I have 2.

They help w posture, as well as being really useful for camera angles.
I have 2, 2 level ones.
Imo the more adjustability, and wider range of movement they have, the better.

I just wish the ones I chose were about 6 inches wider, but I can make them work.

Also important to wear quality supportive footwear if you wanna stand a lot of the day.

I'm really excited to read everyone elses suggestions - TIA

I always try to have a UPS power back up and have my modem/router/cpu/monitor connected to it. It only buys a few minutes of time when the power goes out but many outages are just quick and being able to tell people your power went out instead of just immediately vanishing is very useful.
I have one because power surges killed my $2400 desktop one night in the middle of a show. It was a costly lesson.

I'm really loving these recently. For 2 reasons.

1) I get dehydrated super easy, and I hate plain water. I kid you not, I drink 8-12 glasses of water, religiously, every day. But I still always feel thirsty! I go to bed feeling thirsty, I wake up feeling thirsty. It's rare that I ever feel "unthirsty". I know for privates models, when things get super busy, it can get kind of athletic. Especially under bright lights, & being very active. Having something to help hydrate faster is a total God send. Honestly, I've had issues with chronic thirst, on and off my whole life though.

2) I've been doing some fasts, and they have made fasting so much easier for me.

I used to put a splash of fruit juice in my water flasks, but these work better, and quicker.

I’m considering getting a standing desk because I find myself getting up and pacing around during calls or long work sessions. It helps prevent my back and neck from feeling too stiff.

I don’t really have anything at my home setup that’s much different from my office. But I bought a nice desk with lots of drawers and compartments. Just having an organized way to sort and store cables, drives, files, accessories and office supplies has been great for my mental focus. It’s funny how a cluttered environment contributes to a “cluttered” mind. For me, keeping my area organized and clean makes a difference in my stress level and my focus.

I love the Krisp app to cancel out backround noise. I use it only as and when absolutely necessary, but it is very handy for example when the dogs start some circus.. Instead of shouting at them to quit it, just pop krisp on and the atmosphere is saved.

I also love my thermal tea mug, keeps my tea warm for a few hours so i can keep sipping it during the shift and it doesnt go cold.

Not finding it on Google play? Could you drop a link?

Sorry for the delay - I had missed your post. :) Once downloaded, it works as a virtual microphone. So you select is as your mic to use when broadcasting when you need to. I find it easy to use, and from user feedback, it is very effective, it also blocks out my music if i have something playing on my phone by the laptop.

The only downside for me is that if I am not not chatting constantly, Stripchat seems to think I have altogether lost microphone and their webRTC does not like you streaming without mic.

The app is not free but not very expensive either, if memory serves me right, I pay about 15 dollars a month for it.

I am not affiiated - just a happy user.

OK Thank you

My BakkerElkhuizen keyboard. It’s a lifesaver and reduces alor of shoulder stress because of its size. I work from home at least 70% of the week. Hybrid life as a marketer:)
I too absolutely like a more compact keyboard. I use a Keychron K1 mechanical keyboard though. No numeric pad so less reaching for the mouse.

Anyone use an app for timers? I set timers to remind myself to take breaks, but the problem I’m coming across is I have to remember to set so many on long days. I forgot the name but lots of people do this work thing where they have set cycles. Can any of the models remember what I’m talking about. We all used to talk about it. @Violet Dawn do you remember what I’m talking about?

ETA; nvm remembering; pomodoro

most of the things mentioned in here is what I would say, but also, a REALLY good headset helps me.. I love hearing music while I work, and if not great footwear for standing desks, get a really good desk mat for standing on!

I also have a whiteboard in my current apartment where I have each day I work on, and my deadlines marked.. so I start my day to put on what my goals are for each day.. I'm done working for the day when I reach those, it be 5 hours or 10 hours.. doesn't matter :p (I used to have a blackboard wall and doors in my old apartment.. but I didn't have the funds to paint a full wall and my doors with the paint needed when I moved to the new one)

and snacks... like MarieElise said with the water, I love fruit snacks or something that hydrates a bit, grapes are great for me.. so I always stock up on different things before a work day :p

YES!!! and my standing desk is a 180cm wide and 115cm deep.. so plenty of space

I just thougth of another thing.. of course.. my rubber ducks.. they are now your new co-workers, you talk to them and explain your work process, what you have done to fix it and sometimes you will find out why it doesn't work by walking through it, like you would with a co-worked explaining how things should work.. even if they don't

Your ducks are more useful than some of my coworkers. Do they freelance?

I don't use an app, but my Apple Watch prompts me to stand if I've been sitting for a while.

It's setup in Activity in the settings. It sends me a notification and vibrates my wrist.
Ah ok. I was wondering if it yelled at you or something lol, because that could get kind of annoying, but wrist vibrating sounds fine.
