Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

i work behind the scenes in the adult industry (So you ladies interested in porn, feel free to PM me if youre really looking to break into the industry - or have any questions and want REAL or HONEST answers lol). uhmmm... pre-camming, i basically ran a production company for a lazy photographer (very common) with the title assistant prod manager - though he turned out to be a real ass, i learned everything from photo editing, to styling, to gaining contacts with all of the top agencies, booking girls, pay rates, have a directing credit on an sph site (brag hahahah) ... and well, way more.

then i lost the job for ... well, thats a story for a different time, but ended up on MFC as my first "on camera" experience. mmm... thennnn, got contracted by the site he provided content for, to work independently for them doing more web stuff than working on set, but i still book shoots for them about 7 days a month, plus, well way too many other things to name - so after all that, here i am.

i think it helped my camming a little bit, maybe? i get to talk to my dudes about our favorite porno chicks, and then try and get them on cam with me if i can as a surprise haha. i learned a little bit about lighting though too, i wishhhh i'd paid more attention to the chicks that were badass dirty talkers, but fuck it haha.

but seriously, if anyone's got real questions about the porn industry, feel free to ask... ive only been working in it for about a year but i know a little bit - from the business end too, so, numbers and what not. and i guess from the model perspective, even though i never chose to make that happen, i hang out with mostly porn chicks so i can see it that way too? hahah alright fuck my posts are always too damn long

I used to be a stripper. I quit because I got sick of drunk guys thinking they were entitled to touching my tits. I had some good times; I miss the atmosphere of working in a club. There's nothing that makes one feel more like a rockstar when you're on stage, mohawk spiked, rum and coke in one hand, dancing to the Dresden Dolls "My Alcoholic Friends" as a rack full of men throw dollar bills at you. Ahh.....lol. But overall I enjoy camming more, because you can set your own rules and be more creative.

Out of curiosity: What exactly are the 'average' requirements for strippers? I'm curious because I have no idea, especially not about American stripclubs (I've only lived here for 2 years). I would totally strip but I feel so out of shape after having my daughter last year, I still have a little tummy, not to mention the ugly stretchmarks and scars I have all over my body :(

It varies per club, where you live, the local preferences etc.

Mostly, the requirements tend to be that you've got to be willing to get naked (or strip to g-string/bikini/whatever the local law says) and have the right personality/look/skills to pull in enough cash to make it worth your and the strip club's time. There are probably stronger requirements at places that are mostly centered on, say, go-go dancing, pole-tricks, etc. But an average strip club is mostly all about decently good-looking girls who're willing to give lap dances (if allowed), and marginally look like they're enjoying what they're doing.

In the end it's all about what makes money for the club and keeps the customers happy, rather than whether you've got a perfect body and can do pole tricks for days.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I have actually always been really curious as to how much women in porn get paid.

I imagine it has a lot to do with how intense/kinky/weird the shoot is.

But yeah, I've always heard gay men get paid the most. Or at least, men who do gay porn.

I have always heard the new women or really popular women make the most. I have never heard about the kinky stuff, but on MFC it seems the kinkier the act the less you get paid. I also always heard that men do not get paid much, because there is a large supply of men willing to have sex on screen. Gay pays better, but still not as much as female stars can make.

Probably less than you think tbh, and always less than you work for.
I know an ex-porn actress, avn winner, was a contract girl with a major studio and escorted off and on - always says escorting was MUCH easier (not even comparable), more money compared to the time spent, etc, heard other performers say the same. Porn often involves holding poses for extended periods of time, frequent interruptions, soreness, infections, asshole directors trying to get 'free' scenes or acts you didn't agree to/aren't paid for...etc.

The only site I'm familiar with is Kink.com (great people to work with from everybody I've met and worked with who works there)

G/G rates: $400-$1000 per shoot (anything from solo to vag/anal penetration with toys/hands multiple partners etc)
B/G rates: $500-$1400 per shoot (anything from penetration with toys/fingers to gang bangs/dp)
B/B rates: $600-$1000 per shoot

Obviously variable based on what you're doing, how kinky, how many partners, etc. More or less intense = more or less money too.

The variables depend on what the girl looks like, what agency she is with, how popular/"famous" her name is, and how much she is willing to work for.

The company i work for pays girls anywhere from $700 - $900 (think Malena Morgan/Elle Alexandra - the 'best' newer girls out right now) for G/G. Between $900 - $1000 for BG. And solo is usually about another $150 added on to their rate. We pay guys $600, but I know porn dudes that do B/G's for $150, and I know porn dudes that get paid $1000 for a scene.

As with booking any entertainer, rates are different for each individual person. Even if youre doing the "kinkier stuff." I've heard of girls doing anal gangbangs and getting paid $600, then my friend chastity makes triple that doing the same exact scene, for the same company - but because she is a "higher grade" model she makes more money.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I was a stripper and I agree with a lot of what Veronica said. I loved getting on stage and feeling like a rock star but getting grabbed by drunks gets old. I really prefer camming now but it is a different animal in a lot of ways. I still get to be sexy and dance and have fun and I get to do it from the comfort of my own home. I wouldnt say it gives me an advantage at all but I think that some guys like it I mean who doesn't love strippers? I know I do :-D

It depends on the club. I've worked at both upscale gentlemen's clubs and tiny bitty hole-in-the-wall shacks. I don't have a perfect body by any stretch of the imagination, but when I worked at the upscale club I had to look the part (long brown hair, gowns, etc) but when I worked at small places I looked more like I do now. Also, the upscale place kept telling me I needed to lose weight, which was annoying, but I never did, and they didn't fire me over it or anything. The great thing about stripping is that it's a huge workout. I gained so much weight when I stopped.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I've never worked an adult occupation other than camming.

If I was single however, and in a good mental 'place' for it... I'd absolutely consider escort work.

If I were to do it however I'd do it at home in New Zealand.

I'd also LOVE to run a legal brothel one day...

Thanks, that gives me a little more insight. Kind of what I suspected. How different was it for you working in an upscale place opposed to smaller clubs? Btw, I think you're insanely hot! Have seen your userpic come by a few times now and I can't resist the Tankgirl-ness!

I made a lot more money at the upscale club, but I hated it. I enjoyed working at the smaller clubs much more, but the difference in money was....quite a bit. You are definitely hot enough to give it a shot! And aww, thank you. ^^ I wish I was as cool as Tank Girl. lol.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I've stripped, done porn, and am currently a pro-submissive (no unprotected contact-gloves and condoms over toys, no sex and no oral) and I want to work my way up to pro-Domme.

I have sold sex toys since 2005 LOL....does that count hahahah .... I also run a shop. So I guess I help people with sex/masturbation in both my day job and night job just in different ways heheeheh

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I've considered stripping, even went as far as to book myself into a club in Spain - but then money got short and it all fell through...

For me, it's all about the class of the "establishment", I wouldn't work in a shitty club but I would work in an exclusive club with a nice feel to it.

Also, I would consider doing up-scale escorting, like that Manhattan brothel that got shut down a while ago (catering only to millionaires and billionaires), that would be awesome :)

I am also interested in SD/SB relationships, though very picky. I'm only 19 and wouldn't get with an old man just for money, but is there a girl out there that would not like to meet a young, rich man to pamper her? :p

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I very nearly went into escorting for a very high class agency in London, except it wasn't like 'hotel room for an hour' escorting, it was very high class girlfriend experience, so a £1000 minimum to go out to dinner with me (no sex), then the night more like 3/4 grand. Basically a LOT of money for very little work.
I was actually really serious about it, I'd totally given up on relationships and it wasn't the kind of work you'd do full time, more do a 'job' every week/few weeks, so I thought it'd be really fun and keep my life interesting/give me sex!

But then I had this experience when I was on my way home from London. A man approached me on the train, about middle aged, quite normal looking, and said to me how amazingly gorgeous I was, tried talking to me etc (he was practically drooling).
Anyway, I'm quite used to this sometimes happening, but this time I looked up at him and thought 'if you had the money you could have me.'
This freaked me out so so much that after having my second interview and being offered my place in the agency I bailed. (not that sleeping with someone his age was so awful, but the guy had the most rancid breath! I mean ugh!)

ummm and when I was like 14-16 I always believed I'd become a porn star, but then I decided it'd be very silly to actually record my antics! hmmm.... well hey!

I could totally do that! Thinking of going to university in London next year, when I'm finished with school, so maybe you could point me in the right direction for this kind of thing? :)

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I know this was asked of models, but I hope it's okay for users to answer too! I worked for several years as a massage therapist. I never initiated nor suggested crossing professional boundaries. However, on the rare occasions where a woman asked for something more I didn't say no. I leave it to you to determine if that qualifies me or not.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

Camming is as adult as I've ever gotten....so far? Ha.
I do however send a fair bit of time reading and re-reading the Model page on Pink & White productions site. I'd love to work for them! But California is far, and it smells funny...and I'm broke and not sure they'd want me, ectectect.
I think I like the fantasy of being a pro-sub more than I would the reality. I don't know. It pops into my head after ever D/s session I do.
Someone found me on reddit (it's not hard), and approached me about escorting. I was about to rip into him until I read his posts. He actually sounds like someone I'd enjoy spending an evening with...and then get paid for it? Oooh. Well. Unless I get to be a space geisha a la Firefly I'm not sure I could be an escort. Plus my So would not be OK with me boning other dudes. I'm not sure how lucrative it would be to escort who only escorts ladies.
Perhaps a big part of why I haven't looked more into adult occupations is because I live in Texas. Where everything fun is illegal. Were more of these occupations legal, and regulated...I'd be more apt to consider them seriously.

What ever happenned to equality of the sexes? only women?

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

A former male stripper tried to talk me into going into that line of work once, but I have always been too shy to ever consider it. He said the drunk women do not even care what you look like as long as they can shove money into your g-string. Sometimes I wonder if I would have liked the experience or not.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

Well, let me start off by saying YES. When I was 18, and out on my own, I had nobody to help me. I chose to do escorting or more appropriately prostitution. I did not work for an agency or a pimp. I worked for myself, by myself. I required all of the clients to wear condoms and I set my limits. Sometimes things were scary. I remember one night I had some knife wielding crackhead bitch chasing me around because I tried to help another girl get away from her abusive pimp. I look back now, and I think about how fast it made me grow up and realize not to take anything for granted. I know of several girls who continue to work the same street that I worked back in 2005. It's not safe if you don't know what you're doing, and can be very dangerous. Take Potsy for example: http://johntv.com/?p=935
This is not the only situation she has been in, but also a year to 2 years prior to this, she got kidnapped, beaten, raped and left for dead. The other sad thing is that when she got kidnapped, one of the guys beat her on the face with a broken beer bottle and she lost eyesight in one of her eyes because of it.
Yes I have done it, I own it. Would I ever go back into it? NOPE. I would if it was a legal brothel or something like that and I did not have a s/o.
I wrote these things to show that being an escort/hooker/prostitute is not as glamorous as TV tries to make it look.

I also danced at a few clubs around 2009 and I gained weight back when I stopped.
EDIT: I was lucky to not have been hurt or catch STD's while I was prostituting.

Re: Any of you that have worked in other "adult" occupations

I have both stripped and done porn.

Stripping was both really scary and really fun. It was scary to walk up to random guys and talk yourself up enough that you could either take all their money or have them accost you in the back. Luckily I was careful enough that the worst thing that happened to me in my year of stripping was some guy grabbed the back of my head and kissed me on the mouth. Let me tell you, I felt so violated by him I started screaming bloody murder for security. Dancing has definitely helped me with camming. First off, it taught it me to be confident in my body and how to feel sexy. It also taught me how to hustle, something I was clueless about before. I finally stopped dancing because I could not handle the other girls and the anxiety. I worked at a club where there could be up to 120 other girls in the locker room and yes I swear almost all of them acted like bitchy stuck up cheerleaders, or that basic stereotype.

I haven't done a lot of porn or anything more explicit than masturbating. So the two g/g shows I did on cam were actually more risque. I loved having all the sexy photos of me taken and seeing guys posting about how sexy I was online. Although, it was definitely awkward to meet the camera guy for the first time and have him say five minutes later, "ok lets film the mastubation scene." The porn I've done has helped with my camming too. Actually, a lot of my regulars had first scene my porn so they sought me out on MFC.

Oh and the sites I did porn for was FTV, 18andbusty and shedevils. Just in case anyone wants to look it up, I used Felicia as my name for them too. If anyone is interested in doing porn for these sites or sites like them they can shoot me a pm and I could forward some pics of you to my photographer and contact info. (Were actually good friends now).

I actually "met" you before you start camming, when the photographer who worked with you put the art work on sale. He really shot some great photos. You were lucky to work with him. Your selfshot pictures are great too.
