I've had the "pleasure" of having new status multiple times due to renaming myself a lot and then joining a digital studio.
MFC seemed to be the only site where new status helped. Things went to shit after 90 days, picked back up a month later, then crashed and burned and never picked back up. I might have just not given it enough time but I stopped camming there after 3 months of nearly solely relying on a few big whales. They would have kept coming back, but it just wasn't fun relying on only 4 people to carry a show and the constant worry of "if the whales don't show up tonight my camscore will shit out even more" made me miserable.
On CB my new tag did nothing for me (except get me banned once, that was fun) things got better the longer I cammed there. All but 1 of my MFC wales eventually followed me to CB so it was all good. Things were a bit more average over there, I never had that "OMG WTF!?" level of earnings like I did on MFC but for the most part I expected to earn some money when I cammed there.
On SM the new tag didn't seem to bring me any customers and didn't earn me any regulars, all it did was bring me a bunch of people hoping to rip off a new camgirl, trolls, and people asking "I see you're new, how long have you been camming? ok, do anal bb?" I'm actually glad my new status is gone there. SM placement is partially based on how many hours you've cammed that month and you can't raise your rate particularly high or get top-spot gold shows until you've been on there a little while, so the longer you've been on there the better. I'm now consistently on the first page there (usually top 3 rows) and my earnings have only gotten better with time.
PS: Your phrasing cracked me up, good one
