Honestly I think if you're to quit anything you should start by quitting being so hard on yourself! You've been camming on this persona for two months and you have a 2k camscore! You're doing well! Only you know what financial gains you feel you need to make sex work worth the effort, but 2k camscore is great by most people's standards! It's definitely a great start to build on.
Camming can be lucrative, but it's not always an easy gig and only so many make as much or more as other forms of sex work. You're a type, and that's going to make it that bit harder to find your audience. It must be frustrating having 20 people in your room when you see others with hundreds, but even some models with high camscores don't get many people in their rooms. It must also be frustrating being experienced in sex work and used to earning a certain amount to hen going to being completely underappreciated. In ways your experience does not do you favours in the sense that you expect more straight off, while your average camgirl who's never done sex work before would be thrilled at the earnings you're bringing in. You know your value and it's fair enough to expect to be valued.
But... As has been brought up, there is a lot of trial and error in the sense that you need to be selling what people will pay for and at prices your clientele are willing to pay. Top off for 666 might seem small, but it's higher than I set my initial countdowns for (at present), and my camscore is twice yours, I have an ok fanbase and much higher room numbers, which means it's more likely the tips will be dispersed and that countdowns won't fall on one tipper or look intimidating. I always work my countdowns into what I believe will allow them to be achieved fairly easily. If there are lots of tippers I might raise the next countdown, and if there are none I'll lower it. The other day I even set an insanely low countdown for some teasing which ended up completely turning my night around. A mistake I made when I first started camming was setting too high countdowns, if they looked high people were less likely to even start trying to tip for them. Possibly look at models around your camscore and a bit higher/lower and see what their countdowns are and whether they're being tipped for them. Better to earn a bit less for your countdowns and still make your countdowns. This opinion isn't going to be everyone's opinion, and listening to me is like reading "the lazy girl's guide to being a camgirl", because fuck man, I'm a god awful camgirl when it comes to consistency and hard work. But I'm a great camgirl when it comes to maximum profits and exposure for minimum effort.
I don't think you're doing anything technically wrong, having watched you a few times and having brought a few members in to check you out I think you're friendly, fun and run an entertaining room. You're also hot and impeccably dressed. Theoretically there's no reason you shouldn't do well. I imagine the reasons you're not doing as well as you could are pretty subtle, and to understand those you'd have to work out what it is members on MFC are looking for. It may be something to do with struggling to move from a very jazzed up performance type burlesque show where the thrill is that you're unattainable, to a more intimate "I'm a real attainable girl who also does burlesque", that's not simply about being friendly, because friendliness doesn't always equate to being real or unprofessional. You clearly genuinely love the show performance, and with that you seem pretty happy and buzzing on cam. What I didn't necessarily get from you was that you were highly interested in the member's in your room beyond being friendly and interactive and wanting to put on a performance for them. I am not a member who's visiting you often so this may not be the case, but for those who might drop in they could get this impression. These are basically just guesses, like I said, whatever it is that's preventing those tipping members is subtle.
I wonder if you find the balance between being the real attainable girl and a kick ass dancer and performer if you'll start building a stronger fanbase. This will take time though, it may also take you relaxing a bit on cam and not putting quite so much effort in. I know that sounds totally counter intuitive, but you've clearly been stressing about this for a while and have put a lot of effort in! You're actually doing great, so remember to relax! It may come out in your performance if you're stressed and tense or feeling disheartened. While camming is a job, it's free time to unwind and de-stress for your viewers. Relax, we all started where you are now. You're not failing. I know it's hard, and most of us have been there with wanting to cry (or literally crying) when you get off cam. Try out some other camsites and see if they work for you in bringing extra income in while taking the pressure off MFC, but if you like MFC keep going
Sorry, edit to add: Have you considered doing anything fetish related? With the whole burlesque style you could be pretty good at dom stuff. I have zero experience with this, or with how lucrative it is. But might be worth looking into? MFC is a sex site at the end of the day, not a performance site. While some models manage to build a name on performances, they are often selling some form of sex or girlfriend experience. As a niche model, it could be worth bringing some kink into your brand.
You would think so, and yet.... My most profitable shift without fail is 2am-8am CST. I catch the horny-coming-home-from-bar crowd, the quick-wank-before-work crowd, and overseas folks all at once.
I stayed at 2k for a long while. I was always happy that I didn't drop below 1000 and I yo-yoed a lot before getting good regs. And even now I average only about 16 people in my room with 2-5 being regs depending on the night and that's at my current camscore. Adding this to hopefully make you feel a bit better and show you the reality of MFC. I only get an influx of people when something sexy is going and they all run the moment it's over lol.
The real reason I want to make this post is because Isabellasnow reminded me of what I had to do when i first started. Yeah I told you about the lowering of counts but I completely forgot about my fear of not completing them. Everytime I felt like I was pulling teeth so if I felt like I couldn't handle not completing one I wouldn't do one. I would make up a game and just have the prizes be different types small teases to make them want more. My favorite that still works best in my room is having a board clear night to a show. Something about members being able to see the actual progress before their eyes, even with tipping a small number, just added to the excitement for the room as a whole.
I know this does not necessarily fit your style but maybe you can create something that does. Even like a sexy laid back kinda casino night maybe? With card games and no count to show? Just give little tastes of what you're cable of and save a count for another night to give yourself a break.
Another thing MFC seems to run on is competition. Not just models competing with low prices and trying to get top MFC but members seem to really like rooms where they can gamble in the sense of getting something great or small or even competeing against one another in games.
You've been there before so I'm sorry if this is not news to you. Lol I honestly felt silly that I'd forgotten about how little I cared for count downs when I star
It literally took months for me to build up customers and $ on streamate. And I still have 0$ shifts.
I really think you need to give it more time no site is gonna be instant success unless you are very lucky.
I made 3 tokens on chaturbate. 3. In 3 hours. I never went back haha. So you are still doing better than a lot of girls.
A 1000 token goal is a big one to reach for a first goal. Mine were usually 200 or 300 for a first goal and I had trouble making those on MFC. But no one can tell you what you are worth so keep those high goals if that's what you have set for yourself but I may he hard to reach them.
You gotta stop being so hard on yourself. It's not you at all. Its hard to become successful in this business and takes a lot of time. Even my current level of "success" most girls yourself probably included would be in tears because its really not much $ but helps my family significantly and provides me with flexibility a regular job just couldn't give me.
I hope things get better for you but it really does take lots of time, patience, effort and self love to keep going in this business so I hope you can find all that! Also finding your niche too. I make fetish clips and a large portion of my income comes from that instead of camming.
Thanks girlThats great advice! Also I must say your eyes are amazing!
Tell us more about what you did on streamate bc I can not believe that you made $0! How were you streaming? Using the smbroadcast or obs or fmle- there are so many options to use on sm right now its ridiculous. Did you use a wired connection? Id also be curious to know what you had your rates at as well bc that can make a big difference. I know from reading this thread that the kind of show your trying to do would probably be best on a public site, although gold shows could be your friend on sm. My point though is if you could get sm to work for you where you could log in for 2 or 3 hours and hit your minimum goal, you could then move over to mfc/cb to finish out your day. It would take the pressure off financially and but still allow you to build your name/brand on the site that you really want to work on.
@Trixie_Treats a wired connection is having your computer plugged into a router/switch via cable instead of using wireless. It's a much better connection than wireless most times.
Beyond this, I'm of not much help on the show ideas. I haven't been on very much myself, and haven't seen you when I am. But, still want to try and visit you again and see your new show more.
Have you considered domming? you have a great face/demeanor for it.
IT's been so long! I hope you've been well. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm wireless unless I want to cam from my laundry room next to Fifi's litterbox lol
I'm a switch but for sure tend to be more on the submissive side. Maybe I should take lessons and take out all of my cam aggression on a silly sub. lol
Hey! You have models only access I really suggest you check out some of the threads on streamate and how to get your placement up and use things like sm broadcast that greatly improve it! I had a horrible time on SM until I upgraded. And I also run a super long cat6 cable so I can be wired with my internet!I am unsure I logged on and streamed. I don't know what smbroadcast compared to abs or fmle is or what that means lol Whats a wired connection? I dont see those options when I log in to broadcast. I was just on to offer privates, just a good ol fashioned private, I'm pretty open to many kinks within reason of course. $2.99 premium chat and $4.99 exclusive chat. I've tried to do a gold show when I first started camming last year but it didn't happen so I haven't bothered.
Oh man I'd be killing myself trying to keep up with that schedule. For me the point of camming is to try to stay home more with loved ones and have more of a routine and balance and still be able to be sexual and creative with my work. But I applaud you for getting up and staying up at those hours. Damn Gina!
It's so hard to offer advice because really, you can do everything right and still crash and burn. I'll try to offer some of my experiences addressing some of the points of your responding post which may or may not help you.
Talking to/getting to know regulars: Ask them about their days, how they are, say random shit you did that day if something they say reminds you of something. Just generally engage. Probably best not to ask "do you have a wife/girlfriend?", but asking how was work etc is all good. Even if people don't respond, just ask everyone who interacts. If you remember someone then ask them something more personal that they mentioned last time. When you use twitter try to make it more about personal experiences rather than just promotion, then people have things to ask you about.
The reason I have so many great regulars is probably because I used to log off MFC then log into the homepage and I just chatted to people who'd tipped earlier. It did take a fair amount of time up, but you do get closer when you can interact one on one. I also used to (and still do) log into the homepage before I come on cam to see who's online on my friendslist, I'll chat to people for a bit. It does seem to engage people and make them more likely to come to your room later on. I also would get quite a few members dropping offline tips for the interaction which is obviously a camscore improver. I don't like spam random people on my friendslist when I'm online, but I will drop messages over to those I know a bit. If they engage and stop by I will keep doing it as they seem to enjoy the interactive experience. Some members are a lot more private, but a lot of members who interact in the room are pretty open and sociable. I doubt you'll scare people off by acting interested.
The logging off after an hour, this is actually such a huge mistake that I used to make all the time. I rarely log off without having made a decent amount of tokens and it's almost always when I give up too soon or start getting frustrated early. I rarely make anything in the first hour of camming, second hour I might make a bit. It's usually the third and the fourth hour that I actually start making bank. Camscore is important, but if you allow it to hinder your potential then it's not worth it. You could crash and burn by staying online, but you could also allow enough time for regulars to get to know you and for people to decide on taking you private.
Times are hard. I've restarted recently as I'm on my summer holidays so I'm rebuilding a room. The majority of my tokens at the moment are from people who've been visiting me for years. Fortunately I've got a fair amount of people who like me enough to stop by, but I also interact a fair amount with members offline and through twitter, so I feel like those friendships are maintained even when I'm not camming. It's hard to get new people to decide to spend money on you. Some of my visiters now are people I met last summer, and it took a bit to build that fanbase. Definitely don't worry too much about the current situation, I know it probably seems bleak, but camming is a headfuck. It's not all plain sailing, and it's even harder if you set your expectations too high.
I remember when I was relatively new to camming I felt pretty happy with my earnings and room counts, I didn't know any better. I probably was doing similar to you, maybe even lower. I got one of those "helpful" dudes who clearly got a kick out of being a controlling asshat, he told me that it was pathetic how few people were in my room and how low my income was, how I should be earning far more. This attitude was so toxic that I stopped camming as regularly, I maintained issues for years because I took it to heart too much having a failed night. It made me resent camming. It took me leaving cam for years and only coming back casually to stop giving a fuck about camscore etc and just going with it. Now I pretty much always enjoy camming and have a far more positive experience.
This is interesting. I kind of struggle in how to make games. I have a dice roll thats all. lol I dont know what a board clear is, lol sorry I'm a bit dumb about how games work. I dont know how to play cards believe it or not, Go Fish is confusing as fuck even. lol Can you believe I lived in Vegas? lol Guess I have to learn how to play cards. Or just get a fucking lush and sit on my bed with my legs open all night I dunno? lol
I hope that goes well with your friend! Sometimes girls just get lucky, they have the look/persona that guys on camsites like. You're probably not doing anything wrong, camming may be a long haul for you though. It isn't helpful if every night you only go on for like an hour, members will remember that even if they aren't engaging. Don't throw camscore to the wind, just try not to worry about it too much. You can try offering Skype show deals for tokens on twitter to try to get some offline tips, people might not bite, but then again, they might.
Don't worry if members don't respond when you ask them how they are, even answer your own question, say something about your day that was funny or might engage them. That member might not talk but others might.
It might also do well to really play on the whole Canadian thing. I've noticed Canada seems to be one of those where people seem to stick together a lot more. It's the same in Britain with the Scots. I don't know how much you can play on that, but it could be a seller.
One thing I will say is that you're definitely not girl next door, neither your look or your personality, and I can't imagine you coming on cam with barely there make up and scruffy hair or playing that cutesie girl who is like, oh my god, so so excited to see everyone and help them masturbate!!!
So I don't know, up to you, but maybe don't pressure yourself to be that girl even though it's popular. For sure camming from a bedroom or living room where everything looks homey is cool, but you might have a fetish niche which could gain followers. What turns you on? Would you be good at domination? JOI? Like what are you good at in private?
If you do want to go on a more personal angle then what are your hobbies? What makes you different? What can they have in common with you? Do you like video games? Star wars? Pokemon? Surfing? Sport? Anything which can be an interesting topic to connect with members on. I can remember the mention of you liking Halloween on your profile and obviously you've gone with that as a theme, but I didn't get a huge vibe of what it says about you as a person or how members could connect with you on it other than it just being a theme. What is it about that theme which makes you easy to connect with? The whole vintage and burlesque is great if you're connecting with girls and men do find it sexy, but how many guys do you meet who say their hobby is burlesque and vintage clothing? Same goes for art, cooking etc. They're quite generic hobbies to mention and harder to engage people into conversation.
My only other thoughts on the profile is you mention a lot how grateful you are for any tip coming a lot of times. Often repeated several times in the same paragraph. It's a strange one for your persona, you look like a goddess who could be strong, confident and dominant, but it sounds like you're asking for charity so that you can perform your art and have the pleasure of entertaining them. For sure top models will often do a super "oh my god I am so grateful", but that's because they're earning fuck loads and have a reason to be grateful! And it's ok to mention something like how you're funding school or a totally unrelated hobby, but it's almost like you're undervaluing your own art.
You're not a beggar, don't act like one. And try to keep threads like this in the Models only section. Some of my favourite members over the years have found me through this forum, they came to me because I write essay length posts as responses which some (many) probably find annoying as all hell, but some apparently find insightful and have dropped me offline tips or have joined my room community. They would likely have had a different opinion of me if I kept making public posts about failing. Just saying. Success is infectious. If you watch MFC for enough time you'll see how once a model gets tipped generously by one, others are more likely to join in. Plenty of members coming here are also generous tippers with great conversation skills, you want them to see you as an equal they can engage with, not someone they're visiting out of sympathy. I'm not a member on here so I cannot speak for them, that's just my opinion.
You've mentioned not getting private shows. On your MFC share you've got like 3 masturbation videos, all of them relatively expensive in terms of what members will pay for nowadays and don't appear to be of particularly high quality (from the outside). None of them have particularly good descriptions, it's more "buy and find out..." so it's really not clear what you're going to get up to. In a world where there are tens of thousands of model videos to choose from, playing coy may not get the most sales. I'm not an expert on this and my video game is not the best, but there are girls on here who are excellent with videos. A girl here once did mention how advertising video's like they've been uploaded by a dude to pornhub increases sales dramatically. It may be that selling some videos could get your camscore up a bit, help you shift countdowns and maybe get members excited about private shows with you. Perhaps pick a theme/fantasy of what your personality would suit and go from there. What you've got advertised would have done so well like 5 years ago, but it's definitely a whole different story nowadays with manyvids, MFC share and other premade video based sites. You kind of look like someone who would do well selling videos, so maybe do some research here and give it a try.
Sorry, it's all kind of sporadic advice, maybe much contradicting, probably not all good. But you seem to be a proactive person who wants to hear something to try rather than just sit around not knowing.
Sorry if any of this was answered above, I'm in the process of moving so I haven't had the chance to read more.
Don't feel bad not knowing any games. I didn't really know any when starting out either. I am at a loss when it comes to card games but have managed to make high/low work, it's a drinking game but you can make the prize anything you'd like. you show the member of card and ask them if they think the next one's going to be high or low. If they are right they can win a tease or whatever you'd like. The other card game I've sorta played is black jack.
Board clear is where you take a big white board and put numbers on it. Let's go with mine, 1-70 the math to find token amount
1+70=71
71x70=4970
4970÷2=2485 <--- that is the amount of tokens you will receive to start show.
The rules are the members have to tip the individual numbers for you to erase them. Once they are all erased the show starts.
Ways to spice the game up: have a count down break it up. Either say *this amount* until sexy dance or say *this many #s erased* for tease.
Or you can randomly pick prize numbers. Write down some numbers randomly picked from the board and right down a prize next to it. If a member chooses that number then they get the prize. I like doing this to add a bit of a gamble to the game as well as break up the wait time until actual show.
And you done have to spread your legs to use a lush. I very rarely show myself without panties in regular chat. I use lush every so often so as not to lose the novelty of it and i keep panties on over it sitting with only my upper half of my body showing.
