It just depends on the man.
I have a hard time kissing my boyfriend when he periodically shaves off his mustache and goatee because he looks like a totally different person and it weirds me out. My best friend looks best with a full, neatly trimmed beard. One of my exes could only grow in patches of facial hair and looked much better clean shaven.

I chose full beard though it varies for me between full and neatly trimmed. My preference isn't really based on looks as I'm not a hobby beard kinda guy... I just hate shaving. I trim it pretty short a few times a year and then let it grow until it starts to get snagged in my camera strap.

Generally, clean shaven or a little stubble. I am mostly a beard hater with very few exceptions, and I really don't love an untamed looking beard.

This is my beard, I really feel it "mans" up my appearance which would be quite boyish otherwise

I first started with the beard about 2 and a bit years ago, took some practice to learn to trim it and shape it a bit (still not great at that)

I just took a quick picture

The most I'll do is a few days of stubble. I hate excess hair. On my face, chest, nether regions, doesn't matter. I prefer to be clean shaven.

Really varies from person to person. Some dudes look awesome with a beard, some look better shaved. My dad and grandpa have always worn beards to hide the family no-chin that men in the family tend to have (small chins are actually a contribution from Neanderthal DNA, FYI, and my family is hella Neanderthal). Care is also important - if a guy grows a long-ass beard but doesn't maintain it, it looks like shit.

What looks good on absolutely nobody, however, is that damn creeper/70's porno mustache. Just. Don't. Do. It.

I haaaaate full, long, mountain man beards because a few dudes I know in real life have them and do not maintain them well. When they're well looked after, they're great, but when they're not, they're blech. I put a trimmed beard, because I do have a thing for facial hair, but it depends on the guy. Chris Evans in a full, well looked-after beard? Yes please!

I've talked about my love for him so many times on here but he's one of the few dudes who looks better with a full beard, imo. The beard is like an irl Upgrade button for him hahah.

@MFCGod even though we can only kind of see it, it looks like yours really suits you as well!! I like it. Maybe I'm not as anti-beard as I thought... :p

I like almost cleaned shaved, hard, offensive stubble, the feel of sandpaper, the kind of stubble that will take skin off.
It reminds me of my grandfather, real men enjoy the brutality and daily discipline of a good shave even if in a few hours time they need to shave again.
I know women hate it, but I simply don't care. I need the full force of the outside world slapping my face, and no reminders of where my last meal came from.

I don't have a preference. I like all fazes of facial hair growth. But I do feel that a beard increases the look of masculinity. It makes a man look as if he has a strong jawline. Every woman is a sucker for a strong jawline.

I had been clean shaven all my life as I always thought my beard was pretty thin compared to my moustache and would look pretty stupid so I never let it grow out. I decided to start growing it at the end of November and now about a month and a half in it seems to be OK and way fuller than I expected. I have had many compliments on the new beard and people telling me it suits me well so I guess it's here to stay.

Curently have a mustache but occasionally will let stubble grow to a goatee. I have to shave probably once every three days or so, can't stand going too long without one. If I grow a full beard I look like I belong to a 70's southern rock group.

I like clean shaven or some stubble. I think maybe it's because I had a bad beard experience. A guy I briefly dated had one of those thick mountain man beards and it reeked like cigarettes.

Mustache. And I hate shaving. Always get bad razor burn. So way back when I bought a beard trimming kit and use the small trimmer to cut it down instead of shave. It leaves it with about a one day old stubble look. I'm good with it. It's way faster than shaving, no razor burn, and I never need to buy shaving foam or aftershave gel.

I also use the other attachments in the kit to cut my own hair. Win win all around.

The female lips there gave me a really good image on the mustache lol. I happen to own a beard trimmer with hair attachments also and I despise shaving because of razorburn. Only ever trim. I've tried waxing too and it's not any better. Not worth it. I lean toward trimmed beard more than stubble I guess though because stubble is usually so rough it irritates my skin. Trimming keeps it softer so it doesn't feel like sandpaper.

I voted goatee but I also appreciate a well taken care of nicely trimmed beard.

I voted neatly trimmed but I'd say my beard is in the middle of that and full.

It took me forever to actually be able to grow a beard, so once I finally could I've felt awkward without it. From 18 to 21, I either had a goatee or went clean shaven. At around 22-23 I finally got a distinct chin strap beard and could get away from my goatee, and by 25 I could grow a full beard. I can't grow a mountain man beard as it gets to a certain length and just stops. I can keep it growing at the point of my chin but the sides will never keep pace.

That said I really hate my goatee wearing past and don't like my goatee look at all these days

When my dad shaves I literally do not recognize him, since he's always had the same mustache since I was two. He picked me up from the airport once and I walked right passed him because I didn't see him.
