Columbia isn't even a country. Colombia on the other hand......
So cool that it's hard to articulate a coherent response. If that was worth your time... well, that about says it all. (Tapping on a phone with predictive text and wonky autocorrect, me lord).

So he made a mistake….🤷‍♀️ It happens. Your previous post was a pain to read, btw. If you’re going to make an unnecessarily long post like that, please do us all favor and split it into paragraphs.

Well, the models on this forum and the positive experiences that a lot of us members have with cam models tell me (and should tell you) that cam models can be trusted to the same extent as anyone else can be. An untrustworthy person can become the President of the United States if they want to. Your job doesn't determine how trustworthy you are.

My point wasn't so much about her being a cam model as it was about you meeting a woman you barely know in Colombia. As @cbhours has correctly pointed out, flying someone in to do a scopolamine robbery on them is definitely an unusual twist on an old classic but you should definitely be aware, not just from the perspective of meeting her, but generally how to conduct yourself there. Google the phrase "No dar Papaya".
Nahhh.

Nah. And who made a mistake? The idiot trying to meet a clear con artist or me making one spelling error? Maybe if a post isn't to YOUR formatting standards or liking, STOP READING IT! Thanks!!!!

I’ll read wtf I want, so KISS MY BLACK STRETCH-MARKED ASS. See? You’re not the only one on here who can type in all CAPS. :)

I was obviously referring to your comment to misterical. Duh.

How many times does this happen?
I have no idea how many times people meet in person after meeting on a camsite. I can say that there's matchmaking services to introduce young women in Colombia to men from other countries, so I don't think it's beyond belief that someone who works as a cam model would use her reach to meet with a man from another country to pursue a relationship.
And is it a scam or not?
Not enough information. If you're regularly video calling, watching movies together, etc. that's way too much of a time investment to convince you to fly to Colombia in the hopes of getting the contents of your wallet (and as a tip while you're in Colombia only carry what you plan on spending and can afford to lose in your wallet at any given time, keep the rest in the safe in your room.) Whether it's a lovecon or not depends on how much money you're sending and how much she's pumping you to send money. The less money involved, the less likely it is to be a scam. Whether she's sincerely interested in you or just hoping you can provide a better lifestyle for her with a sugar baby arrangement, another thing that's not uncommon with extranational relationships in Colombia, I can't say. I don't know her heart.
When I visit will it be safe or is it dangerous. We will go to a hotel so I am not gonna visit here home. And it is in colombia
It is more dangerous than what you're probably used to, but it's not like you're walking into a warzone. The stories about foreigners who wind up dead, drugged, or in deep shit in Colombia are usually people who go there for cheap cocaine and sex tourism. Sometimes ecotourists who wander into less stable areas. If you're just there to go to some restaurants and hang out in touristy areas you want to be cautious but you're generally safe. Though I have only been in Medellín, and all the people I know in Medellín don't have anything good to say about Bogotá. So I guess take what I say with that in mind.

Look for guides on visiting and staying safe in Colombia/Bogotá and take them to heart. When leaving your hotel tell the concierge where you're going and ask them if it's safe. All the hotels I've been at in Colombia have provided a list of guidelines and advice on how to stay safe - read them. I have a copy of one of the lists somewhere if you'd like me to send it to you.

Good luck, take care of yourself, and treat this woman well. There are a lot of young women in Colombia looking for a way out of poverty, and a lot of men from other countries take advantage of that. Don't be one of them.

I thought I'd come back to this one. While I see the point you're trying to make, it's not a mistake. It's something that I see all the time and makes the Colombians I know seethe. I just don't feel someone can wax lyrical about how wonderful a country is while simultaneously not even bothering their ass to learn how to spell its name properly. The post was so long it made my eyes bleed so it wasn't likely typed on a phone, so the autocorrect excuse is exactly that. An excuse. I'm not calling out a spelling mistake. We all make those. I'm calling out ignorance and laziness.

@RockPierce You, dear sir or madam, stand accused of the heinous crime of typing "Columbia" instead of "Colombia"—an act of linguistic treason so grave that even autocorrect has refused to take the fall for you.

The prosecution ( @misterical ) argues that this is not just a simple typo, but an unforgivable display of ignorance and laziness, punishable by extreme measures.

How do you plea!?

In a previous life I worked for a legal research company and actually had a client from Colombia terminate their contract with us because our researchers kept misspelling it Columbia. They were pissed.

Misterical, my dear. You, and I think that other guy, totally misunderstood my post. YOU made a typing error in your previous post (You said “Columbia isn't even a country. Colombia on the other hand....”), and that other guy was making fun of you for it. So I defended YOU. That’s what I meant when I said “He made a mistake. It happens.” I was talking about you. :)

You’re welcome btw.

Ha ha. I misunderstood, although I was pointing out that he misspelt it Columbia. I was quoting his spelling. Appreciate you having my back though and I hope you can understand how my understanding of our misunderstanding led to my reply :)
