Your first stolen content experience?

Hi everyone,
I was alerted today by someone that a website had videos of my streams uploaded. I was frustrated, angry and felt pretty crappy about it, to be honest. I knew it was 100% a risk when I started camming, but I didn't think I would have to worry about it until I had been camming for at least a year, for some reason. I started streaming at the end of July and since then, 3 videos have been uploaded. I had been checking numerous sites, but never heard of this one, and they have uploaded videos 59 days ago. I know that is definitely not a lot compared to some models, but I'm still annoyed and surprised it's happened so quickly.

I'm sure many models have had this experience, but I was interested in knowing at what stage/length of time you had been camming for that this happened to you? Not sure if my question is phrased correctly, but I'm sure it gets the message across. I'll chuck a poll up and if you have anything else you want to add, feel free to leave a comment. I think it might be interesting and give new models a more realistic expectation/awareness of risk.

I voted...but I'm not sure if it's even "stolen streams" because I know a lot of affiliates have permission on some sites to record and stream sites... but I was within my first week when I realized this was happening. Now I use a small logo and don't Google myself lol

Hey i'm going through the same as you, and i'm in the process of having the vids and pics of me removed, as much as i can anyways.
i found out that it happened from my first broadcast.. and like you i had no idea it would happen so fast and so much.
i didn't really consider the risk when i started and i really regret that..

There's tons of threads on the forum about sites and bots that record public streams. There's really not much that can be done about blocking them, at least not that I recall reading from models. You'll want to do some searching, as there's ways to handle it. However, being a member and not a model, I would best not even attempt to try to answer. If you haven't, I'd also recommend getting verified for models only area as there may be more info in there for you.

Depends on the site but on mfc its literally constant bots doing it.

I dunno about mfc , streammate and other pages.

But on CB you can turn off streaming under settings.
U get fewer viewers ( can get less tokens ), but than CB can't stream you.

Many many pages have loads of recorded shows, after about 2 years, the close and z new page is up.
And all your vids are back.

Hopefully this change now with new law in EU and FOSTA/ SESTA law in USA.
Those laws give content owners / creators more legal rights and power.

So now models have stronger rights, compared to earlier.

On CB, turning off the “affiliate network” setting does NOT prevent piracy of your stream. I tried it for a week & there was zero difference. I gave up long ago trying to get everything pulled down. If you don’t want it out there, don’t broadcast.

There are a handful of affiliates that make snapshots or clips. This will stop when you opt out of appearance on network sites. BUT I haven't come across an affiliate so far that does not delete these when you ask them (by mail or through chaturbate support). I would actually leave it on, these guys really promote chaturbate.

Edit: There are actually two chaturbate affiliates that do not delete (so far), but these sites have user uploaded content, so opting out of network appearance would have no effect for these anyway.

Making copy's from public streams on CB is child splay. On sites you can find script to auto record your "favorite" performer. So it will be hard to prevent these video's getting online.

The first time I realized my cam was being recorded was after my friend cammed with me (after about 4 months of me camming) she found videos of us together so I looked up my name and they had recordings of me from the first week I started camming My heart sank to my stomach when the DMCA people said the site doesnt take anything down but they will remove it from search engines. I knew my stuff would inevitably get recorded at some point but didn't realize how soon and how frequent. I took a couple weeks off and then decided I'll cam again. I want to be an accountant for entertainers and SW so if it comes out some how it won't be a big deal.

Correct, but automatically creating thumbs and uploading to a filelocker and being accessible through a dozen or more domains is another thing completely. Not many have the skills to do that.

I think - but maybe I am wrong - that it's not a big deal to finish among all the records on those well known cap sites. From what I've seen they don't have that much traffic as we may think.
The problem is when you end up on sites like Pornhub, but at least there you can file a DMCA (send the links to Chaturbate and ask them to send a DMCA so the capper won't know your real name).

I only found out that I had a show on a site because a member told me, but at the time I had been camming to about 8 months. I had always searched my cam name in the top sites and nothing came up. If I Google tho, ugh. And of course it's one show before i had great lighting, a good cam, and a decent room- so its not even good advertisement haha. I basically realized I could make myself sick trying to find more content of mine, or I can just get on with it and hope it just gets lost in the pile of capped things.

I think there are even a few here on this site who can do that. It is not that hard just takes time. Welcome in the world of api making diffecult things very simple.

Wow! All the folks sitting in the 1-2 months category...like me. These tube sites will pick you up quick. Fortunately, the sites are so shitty and ephemeral, they don't last very long or get much traffic. It's kind of a reality of camming. I never bothered with the DMCA filings so long as it wasn't a major traffic site that was using my shows.

Now, when some random guy made a profile of me on Scruff and I ended up on the front page, that was another story...I was ALL OVER that DMCA violation form!! The coolest part was some of my fans had already filed the violation notice for me by the time I got to it. Scruff staff told me the profile received some 5 or 6 violation notices. It was nice to see that my fans had my back.

I actually found a website a while back made by a guy who does this for a living. He has guides on how to make a tube site, set up advertising contracts and affiliate links, and then go out and steal cam-girls' shows. It's like, the shittiest thing I've ever seen. The dude was selling a PDF how-to book last I saw. Total douche, making a career off of stealing cam-models' hard work...and bragging about it!

I usually stream with my boyfriend and we both knew the risk since day one but it doesn't mean we would accept it with a smile on our face. He found out that searching our name on Google, a lot of our streaming content is in many sites like forums and tubes. I made a post here about this as soon as I noticed and many girls helped me to have a short-term solution but I just feel frustrated despite the fact apparently nobody watches/downloads our stolen content and many tubes and forums had disappeared too, anyway I'd love to put those fucking sites down hahaha
