After horrific experience with a sex toy sent her to the hospital, a Northern California woman is a suing a Southern California "marital aid" manufacturer for personal injury and emotional duress.

Yreka resident April Bonjour states in her suit that, late last year, she and her boyfriend were using a vibrator made by Pipedream Products when she suddenly noticed that something was wrong.

"During usage I felt a sharp pain inside my vagina," she wrote. "My boyfriend quickly removed the toy, it was covered with blood."

Bonjour initially thought she might have just started her period, but she realized something else was definitely happening when she continued to lose blood to the point where she began slipping in and out of consciousness.

Not sure if they'd kill you, but they could certainly do some damage if you're positioned wrong or it's being controlled by a complete idiot.

I also thought about adding a picture of my cock as a silly joke,
but then I realized the joke would be on me.

Looks like there is one out there that will have a good stab at it... no pun intended. Mind you, for the woman in question to be slipping in and out of consciousness, that implies some serious blood loss. Too much love will kill you eh... Interesting to see how that suit pans out.
Gotta love the company motto though "We Don't Make the Orgasm...We Make the Orgasm BETTER!" ... but perhaps they fell a bit short of the line this time round!

I think they should show the toy in question lol. What was it made from? Carbon-steel?

"Hey look we gave a few models of the "Knivebrator 3000" out to women to test and never heard back from any of them so we assumed it was all a-ok."

Well, I have to say my thought process was that I've seen more serious fuck machines even than what most models use and as long as they are used properly they don't tend to lead to injury. I'm just finding it hard to believe that the toy itself injured her to that extent and that it wasn't necessarily operator error.

I'm very curious to see where it goes...er...the case, that is.

I still see at least one MFC model fully inserting a corded and plugged in Hitachi on a regular basis into her vagina. LovelyLemon will attest to the fact those things can and DO blow up. That would do a bit more than just make her bleed.

The article in the original thread doesn't say what kind of toy it was, but I'd be willing to bet it was either damaged or improperly used.

As an electrical engineer, I agree this is dangerous.
Especially if you have to pull on the wire to remove it.

Hitachis are scary. Mine recently blew up as well, as in huge blue sparks and snap-crackle noises coming out of it type of blow-up. Scared the crap out of me, I threw it onto the floor in terror and unplugged it right away. It survived for 4 years though, the part that finally gave out was the cord where it connected to the base of the handle, the rubber casing had split open and was letting the pos. and neg. wires have contact. Hence the sparks! Be very careful with those things.

If it was their big g-spot wand I can definitely see how that would happen. It has a very sharp, jagged seam on it that isn't safe to use for penetration (the seam ran right along the middle of the toy and ran the whole length). My first time (and last) using that wand ended up leaving me in the er, 1) because it got stuck because it was too big for safe insertion and when we tried to remove it it tore a few muscles and 2) the seam on it had cut me open before it got stuck. I'm a huge non fan of pipedream because this isn't their only highly unsafe toy.

On sex toy packaging it usually says somewhere "for novelty use only". Otherwise, they'd be sued everytime someone had to go the ER to have things dislodged. Hehehe.

Good point...don't know the specifics in this case but plenty of people injure themselves through stupidity rather than unsafe products.

She was probably using a toy (like mentioned earlier in the thread) that stated "not for internal use/not safe for insertion". Quite a few toys say this, but not all. Also, I couldn't find her age, but women over 40 or so I believe can run into trouble with vaginal lining tears. I could see that happening REALLY easy with a sex toy, especially if it's from Pipe Dream. :shifty:

i left a dildo setting on my dresser in the heat when i went out of town and the damn base of it melted and stripped the paint off of my dresser. trust me, i thought about suing. i now hav ea dick and ball shaped mark on the top of my dresser.

HAHAHA!
Seriously though, makes you wonder if it's safe to put something inside you that'll strip paint off a dresser

Given it was left in the heat and melted, there was a molecular change, this caused a bond with the paint which, in turn, was removed from the dresser.
I've seen quite a few toys that warn to keep out of sunlight and away from heat. I always joke about it.
"Warning: use only on the dead."

I tried to let her know that is very dangerous... but she just jammed it up there further. :woops: Maybe if a model tries to let her know.

I think I posted a model who did this in silly screencaps a couple months ago, not knowing the model was a forum member who promptly responded.

Alot of cheap vibes with a hard plastic outer shell could probably make tears if cracked or if they have seams. From some of the stuff Ive seen in shops Im surprised theres not some kind of standard as to their manufacture (like you see on children's toys or office/school supplies, for example).
But I guess if you label it as "novelty" you can pretty much do what you want.

wow it's also pretty fucking expensive. ps, I didn't know you could return things like that lol.

When I worked at a sex shop, I was told they did this because in Texas (at least) you aren't actually allowed to sell things marketed as SEX toys, which is why they call them novelty toys.

I just woke up, so this is the first thing I found:
