Why would a cam girl follow the customer???

Im trying to figure out why on earth would a model follow the customer. I can understand the customer following the model as to know if and when that person is broadcasting. If the customer is not setup to broadcast and if the model is unable to send a message to that customer, as in SC, im not following whats the point. Can someone shed any light on this?? Never really understood that either. Before I put a password on mine had a bunch of people follow me. Don't know why. Most were people I'd tipped but probably 1/3 were just randoms who I guess must have seen me in a room at some point.

It's just a nice way to show you're a "friend" in some situations, or it's just out of politeness in other cases.
Especially if you're a big tipper for that model, she/he is wanted to do it as a good gesture, in a friendly way, no doubt to hope you will go back.

Some may do it so they don't forget you or something specific about you.
I am sure some will do it in a jealous kind of way to "check up on you" to make sure you haven't broadcast your stream to other models (some used to do that with me, I mean c'mon)... at least now you don't have to do it that way anymore, you can do the builtin cam2cam when you're in a private show. So that helped a lot with stupid jealous models.

But I am sure there are other reasons but I know with myself, I have generally had models follow me because we get on nicely and it's just an exchange of "we like each other".. no different in a way to following on other places - I know it is different but it's still also the same lol.

Same here. I never used to check my own bio/profile page much, but went in there one day to see over a hundred followers. Didn't recognise a single one that I had visited, but they all seemed to be models.
And at that time, I had never broadcast myself, so figured they all had to be models in another model's room who had looked up my page while I was in there.
Deleted them all, and then put a password on the room.
Still got no idea why they would do that, unless maybe they hoped I would see their online thumbnail and it would take my interest enough to go visit.

Technically you can broadcast without submitting all the age verification paperwork, you just can't be tipped if you do. Like Brett said, this was the old way of doing cam2cam. One model I followed used to encourage me to broadcast to her this way and followed me so she'd be notified if I did. I think she didn't know about the built in cam2cam functionality, or maybe she just preferred the old way.

The rest are strangers who I assume are hoping I'll visit them out of curiosity or so they will get notified so they can come promote their stream to me if I broadcast in that way.

As an app & bot coder on CB I've had to create many grey accounts for testing. I've noticed that a majority of my grey account followers are often spammers advertising their own adult business. Clicking on the bio's of my followers often reveals links to dating sites, phishing sites, escort sites, onlyfans, etc. I've also had some legitimate followers, as Brett said, who were simply friends that wanted to try and stay in contact with me. A few even told me they followed me because I had social media listed in my bio and it was easier then trying to memorize it or write it down. I believe that some models follow users in a hope that other users will see the model and click on their name, which could lead back to earning more tokens. However, you can't actually see who is following who on CB!

About 1 year ago CB removed this. You can no longer broadcast or upload media (photos/videos) without being age verified. This includes the C2C feature as well. If you have an old grey account with pictures or a previous broadcasting timestamp, then you're truly old school! =)

Never understood this either. I have about 60 followers.

But I did visit one model who randomly followed me and I have been visiting her for over a year now and we have a nice offline "friendship."

So I guess it worked in this one instance.

Thanks for the correction on this cexmental, though I have used the built in C2C within the last 4 months without being age verified. It seemed to work and I got notified the model was viewing my cam. I trust you know more than me, is there a reason that would happen?

I’m a non-broadcasting CB member, so there’s no significant reason to follow my profile other than remembering my username or hoping I click through on my followers and become a tipper.

I think that describes almost all of my followers. More than half of them are models I’ve visited and tipped before. I can only imagine they follow their tippers as a way of remembering them (or a way of being remembered, in case we go astray).

The others are a bunch of models I’ve never visited. I assume they saw me tipping in another room - or found my username on a list of purple tippers or something - and following me is a hail-mary attempt to get me to notice their room and possibly visit/tip.

I rarely look at my list of followers. And when I do, it’s rare for me to visit one of them if I’m not already familiar with them. In 4 years I can think of 3 specific times I’ve done it. Which isn’t a lot, comparatively. But maybe it’s a successful tactic with other members, I don’t know.

The way in which the names are organised/listed in your "followers" is ridiculous anyway, you can't sort in any order so it's pointless trying to find a name as they don't show as "last followed".

Agreed. The order looks to be completely random. Also, if I refresh the page, it scrambles the results again so it’s not even the same “random” order from visit to visit.

If you wanted to keep track of new followers, it would be very hard to do that without reviewing the whole list every time. That’s not a concern for me, but I could see it being a headache for a model trying to keep track of their new (and old) followers for business reasons.

I think it is based on their last login, most recent to oldest. At least that's the order your following / favorites are (offline rooms), so would make sense for them to use the same code on both pages. But yes, it's ridiculous either way.

Huh. My page says last broadcast four years ago but when I go to "Broadcast Yourself," it wants age verification. Probably some esoteric thing in deciding which accounts it applies to.

Yeah, it seemed to me to be based on when the account was created. My main account and another, both older, I can broadcast even though I'm not verified. I see the same note about receiving tokens. Other accounts made later I can't broadcast.
