some models even if you chat say hi etc etc they ignore you
In a quiet room that would certainly be annoying. Keep in mind, though, that in a busy room, saying more than a 2 letter word may be required to catch the attention of the model. (I know that isn't the topic of this thread, just felt like noting it since I've had issues with people getting downright rude with me in my room when it's busy and I don't notice their "hi" among the other chat. Don't be like that. :) )

To be honest i dont know why it shouldnt be any different. Models just have to pay more attention in a room with more people if they want my tokens simple as that.

But the odds are that if she has a room that is so busy that she misses someone's 'hi', she probably doesn't depend on the tokens of that one person who's going to immediately be butthurt and storm out when she misses it once.

That's like walking into a party packed wall to wall with people, standing at the entry door whispering "hi" to the hostess who is across the room and getting pissed that she doesn't hear you.

Um no..

Unless this is party where you are holding tokens and throwing them at a hostesss...

My first time in a room I like to lurk and get a feel for things before I join in, that's hard to do if no ones talking. I'm terrible at starting and keeping a conversation going. In a dead room I'll make am attempt to talk but I need the model or other people in the room to give me topics and/or ask me questions to keep me going. Now if its a room I'm comfortable and talkative in and I'm not talking much I'm probably distracted by something IRL or really sleepy.

One of my favorite models unfortunately doesn't get a lot of people in her room but my first time there she was very talkative. She asked me questions, told stories about her day, talked about movies, sports, and politics. Basically like Kate said she never shut up and it made it so much easier to join in. I've been a regular ever since.

I think in the same way that some people offline can walk into a room of strangers and start chatting people up, and then be surrounded by 4 or 5 people actively talking in no time.... some people don't have as easy a time doing it.

I'll name one now veteran cam model who I saw pretty much from the first day she started... she now goes by Astrodomina, but she started as Amazingkittie and then Astrokittie. When she first started, she had a nervous energy, that just made her talk to whoever was in her room, like talk continuously, and it was so manic that it was entertaining, and it drew people in to respond to her. I don't think she ever had a quiet room, even when she was fully dressed. She doesn't do it anymore, but at that time, she would literally read each comment that anyone typed out loud, so not one person was ever ignored. Just had the gift of gab so to speak.

Ok, I want to try approaching this another way. Not so much why do members not talk, but what would get them to talk more? I figure most would jump in if the model or another member said something that the shyer member felt safe commenting to.

forgot to mention.... also, aside from people working (or just being shy or non-talkative as others have mentioned), I have seen some models get annoyed (understandably at times) if guests, basics or even premiums ask a question that is either in their topic, or in their profile. I can see how it can be annoying to answer the same question 30 times an hour, but if you snap at someone ("read my profile!", "can't read? it's in my topic!"), that person may just decide to stay quiet and look at the pretty lady.
