I can not figure out why. The HTML coding is good. There are just tons of broken picture links showing up for me. :crybaby:
Does anyone else have this problem?

MiniatureKiwi said:I and someone else I know do profile work for a few models, and after we realized imgur has had some issues, she followed up with MFC support, and they indicated:
"The host that they are using for their images is no longer allowing hot linking to our site. They will need to be hosted elsewhere."
I am actually going to be publicly releasing my image uploading host shortly, so if anyone would like to upload anything now, please let me know, and I can get you setup.
blehxor said:Why not just use MFC themselves for the host? You can upload pictures to MFC and keep them unassigned but get their direct url and use that. I've never understood why more people don't go this route.

It has ALWAYS been against Imgur's Terms of Service.
Imgur gaves me errors 3 years ago when trying to put pictures on my profile, so I'm not sure why it worked for other people.

There are different problems with that, like MFC turning PNG files into JPGs automatically.
This means that transparent PNG images turn non-transparent and become useless.
It also means that JPG artifacts will show up in the images, making them look plain shitty to the experienced eye, due to the added noise.
After the imgur fiasko I tried hosting all my images that were hosted on imgur before, to MFC, and I could stand the noise in the graphics for about a day before I had to pick a different host.
Example: an excerpt of one my own graphics, as it appeared when it was hosted on MFC (i.e. turned into a JPG without my consent...) vs. in its original PNG form - very much zoomed in to display the JPG artifacts in the former:

tldr,
MFC turns your images into JPGs if you host them there, and as a consequence they'll look crappy.
On a profile, you can't tell at first glance (as I said, I zoomed in very far on my example), but the feeling you get from a clean looking profile with graphics that aren't distorted by noise is different.

Haha seriously, it's obvious. If you can't see it in the text, check out the symbols (suitcase etc.). The noise is real and it is not pretty.

:snooty: It's pretty noticeable to this old he-fart. I can spot the artifacts right away. Even if you don't, the jpg image is definitely "muddier" than the png.

So no more png being converted to jpg, and hey, animated gifs! No need for imgur/etc now.
