(I'm not pro trump or Hilary btw) Lots of reasons. Bad campaigning for one.

Focused too much on the "omg trump is saying bad words!! Called someone miss piggy!" Etc

I watched a video that made a good point, you can never win in a PC-outrage movement against trump because his followers LIKE that about him. Instead of her focusing on how she can improve things, she tried too hard to prove how inept he was.

Also she just tried too hard getting the millennial vote to the point it looked embarrassing/insulting.(Yoda and a half naked James Franco endorsing her in an ad) people want to feel heard with their issues and her whole #imwithher was bound to fail because it so self involved and lacking any way to connect with people the way Trump did

I agree with that the "I'm with her" slogan was bad. It kinda rubbed me wrong. I didn't look too deep into Hillary as far as her past and i tired not to listen too much to the internet throwing mud on her name.
But the plain and simple fact is that she did abandon soldiers in Benghazi, she did leak classified information, she did defend a man who brutally raped and beat a 12 year old girl and got him off with 5 months time served.. then laughed about it. She was against gay marriage and conveniently changed sides when she decided to run for president (just one example of how full of shit she is) This is just the surface of the many things that she has chosen to do.. I don't think Hillary cares about anyone but herself. But these are just my opinions about her and they could be misguided.
I did not vote for trump either because I feel he is just as bad. I don't agree with some of his policies although they WILL bring back jobs. But minimizing regulations on harvesting fossil fuels is not a good idea. As if enough land hasn't been stolen and tainted and enough oceans hasnt been ruined, he wants to give the oil companies free rain to do whatever the fuck they want. For trump it's about business, profit, and money.. not about morals.
Trump won because he talked big game. He has business sense.. he's vulgar (the epitome of American culture) he's aggressive also the (epitome of American culture) and he says what the hell is on his mind.. someone people can relate to. Everyone has a trump in their family. Mine is uncle David. Regardless of his loud and obnoxious personality everyone still loves uncle David and he makes people laugh.

Saw one of her last ads, promising to make the world safe for women and daughters or some shit. Thought immediately popped in my head, you going to take them by the hand and walk them through life? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Think_of_the_children

I made a crack in the other thread about the Beyonce concert. That was so out of touch it wasn't even funny. I'm sitting here wondering about racial tensions, war, etc., that little snippet I watched of her trying to screech empty motivation rhetoric was pitiful. Reminded me of my grandmother trying to dance with younger people at her 50th wedding anniversary.

Lol the Beyonce Jay z Hillary concert/Katy Perry lady gaga meltdown made me feel like EVERY stupid YouTube conspiracy video was going to come true this election.
As someone who was a huge hip hop nerd for many years but stop liking Jay z circa 2004, I was like goddamn the wackiest illuminati conspiracies are real too!

But for reals. She lost
because she sucks in every way possible. Any real presidential candidate would've summoned the likes of real talent circa method man 1998... Oh wait...
:D :D :D

First president on a method man album? Yes I will take it. :p

-Way too moderate to secure the left vote when facing a moderate Republican who at least claims to be pro-life. If he hadn't been hooked to Mike Pence, I think he would have beaten her by more.
-The DNC ignored the will of the people. The RNC were disappointed, but took the man the public asked for.
-Bill Clinton baggage women, trade deals, mistreating the White House
-Refusing to treat Bernie voters with respect. Choosing to call Trump voters "deplorables" instead of trying to win them over.
-Treating herself as Obama mini, calling black people her "firewall", being generally cocky and dehumanizing about the minority vote she felt she could count on without inspiring them to actually get to the polls. (much like Bernie people)
-MSM's obvious bias
-War mongering

The FBI, Emails and her gender may have played a role, but she's SUCH a bad candidate on a direct level that it's hard to say for sure. She's literally run for president for a decade and lost to someone with Hussein in his name and Donald Trump. She never should have been on the ballot. And, I'm saying that as someone who sucked it up and voted for her.

-the DNC fucked it's supporters over hard. after it was proven that Bernie was sabotaged because they wanted Clinton as a front runner they lost mine and others support as well. Lots of people refused to vote for someone who had a track record of war mongering. I think the DNC axing Bernie left a lot of people who wanted real change in the dark. I've seen a lot of people on social media say that once Bernie wasn't running anymore they were voting for Trump because they believe that he represents change. they felt as though Clinton wouldn't bring about the change they feel this country needs. I understand where they are coming from but I personally think they were are little misguided.
-super PC alt left liberals played a huge role in this. same with brexit. if you tell someone that if they vote for _____ that means they are racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, etc it's not going to go ober very well.
- the main stream media. throughout the election the media's bias and corruption has been very well documented. they were by-in-large for Clinton and they refused to cover Bernie when he was campaining aND slandered Trump. now I am no fan of Trump but I do agree that they were slandering him. just yesterday I watched a video comparing a video that the website NowThis put on their Facebook page of Trump talking about immigration to the full video of his talk. they were just cutting bits and pieces of what he was saying and putting it together to fit their narrative. I think Trump gained support from those who realized what the media was doing.
-a lot of blue collar workers feel like Trump is going to help them out. they feel as though Obama couldn't do that (even though it was mostly because what he was trying to do couldn't make ithe through three senate, hence why Obamacare tuned out to be a mess. it was the only way it could pass) at the end of to the day, I don't belive he won because everyone that voted for him was a racist, xenophobe, and misogynist. it was because of his talks of cutting taxes for the middle class and promises of bringing jobs shipped overseas back to the US. also the talk of lifting restrictions of beig able to mine for resources like coal make a lot of blue collar workers in places like Kentucky happy. my family is from southern kentucky and have been working in the mines for generations and I know Trump's promises resonated with them.

There are tons of other reasons but I feel like these are some of the main ones. I am interested to see how the Trump presidency turns out and hope and pray we don't end up in a civil war or world War

I remember thinking the same way when the Tea Party started gathering steam. The situation has gotten a little graver now.

“We should be cautious about putting too much faith or fear into elected officials,” said Snowden. “At the end of the day, this is just a president.”

As citizens, we have immense power to change the world we live in. “Politicians do not simply do what they think is best, they do what people think they want to hear, they do what they think will gain them support. Ultimately, if we want to see a change, we must force it through ourselves.

“If we want a better world, we can’t hope for an Obama and we should not fear a Donald Trump, rather we should build it ourselves.”

Don't know if this helps or hurts.

A very strong standing ovation to you; very well said. There are many reasons she failed miserably and you hit on quite a lot of them. The DNC rigged the primary for her because it was "her time." Really??? I'm supposed to vote for somebody because you tell me it's simply "her time?" Why is/was it "her time?" What did she do to deserve "her time?" HRC is a vile, unscrupulous, selfish, power hungry leach of a person...regardless of gender or race. Thank God we don't have hear that screeching voice anymore.

HRC is a vile, unscrupulous, selfish, power hungry leach of a person.

My grandparents have a friend who cam attest to that. they worked with her when she was a lawyer in Little Rock and when I here them talking about what their friend had said about her the word selfish came up. I heard she was not a very likeable person just because of her attitude.

She lost because the people who voted for her were not spread out in the correct states for them to give her enough electoral votes to win. If the million and still counting extra had lived in other places she would have been the winner. If I was a Republican I would be worried that my party had lost 6 out of the last 7 popular votes in the presidential election. Gerrymandering can only carry a party so far, before the tides of time roll over them.

Well whatever the reason, Hillary supporters can take heart that she will be back, even more lifelike. We can rebuild him. We have the technology.

Hillary lost because she underestimated what it would take to win.

That is because America is getting more progressive as a whole. Look at all the policies the people are in favor of, but which the top republicans seem to block off all the time (Gay marriage, female equality, public healthcare, restriction of certain gun rights, climate change)

Once a long ago, the republican party was the progressive one. Now.. they only appeal to a certain part of the population (but a very loyal one) and need policies to keep democratic voters from voting to even make it into office..
On the other hand.. look at the number of republican gouvernors, congresmen and senators.. that is more worrying

It isnt gerrymandering but the very reason why there is a buffer in place so 1 citizen doesnt equal 1 vote. The Founding Fathers intended it that way to avoid the tyranny of the majority. Here is why:

People tend to concentrate in urban centers who happen to be on both coasts. These cosmopolitan cities have populations that grow exponentially and who are out of touch with the needs of the rest of the people in the country. On top of that large cities are responsible for the cultural production and many occupations that produce nothing of vale such as the financial sector, but it is the rest of the country the one producing what the cities consume: energy, food, etc.

If the US was a direct democracy then the millions of people in the cities would be able to dictate what happens to the country even when cosmopolitan city dwellers have no idea what their needs are. It is also not a coincidence that the cities vote blue considering all the universities are really political indoctrination centers at this point.

But by having each state hold their weight in votes you make sure that the will of each state is heard and the will of the people of Iowa or Kentucky isnt completely run over by the millions in NYC or California. The US is a federal state.

People like to talk about the wise Founding Fathers, but they always ignore that the fact that most people were not allowed to vote at the beginning of the country. The electoral college made sense when most of the population would have been thrown in jail if they tried to enter a voting booth.

For me, she feels really untrustworthy and focused too much attention on trying to look like Bernie Sanders and make Trump look bad.

That comes off like someone who will say anything to get elected. Plus being back and forth on important issues doesn't help.

The electoral college allows the two major parties to keep giving us sub-par candidates with the only criteria for winning being to act like the lesser of the evils. I'm not naive enough to think a 3rd party candidate would strut into the White House if the EC wasn't in place, but they would have to be dealt with at least. Now, they're mostly not of consequence. The electoral college, whatever its initial purpose, is unnecessary and changes the way people vote. If I could have voted as just an American and not a Floridian, my vote would not have gone to Hillary. The electoral college is a big part of why team Hillary could do such a crap job, put up such a crap candidate and still think they would win. I hope when Trump is done pooping up the place, he at least jumps on board dismantling the EC so that the parties have to work harder.

Although the Electoral College does seem flawed I think the larger flaw is with the first past the post voting system. In every country that uses this system it almost always tends towards only 2 large parties which take turns in power.

Of course reforming the voting system is not in the interests of the two large parties so they have no incentive to do it as they don't want the risk of a third, fourth or fifth party having a real shot at winning an election. It then ends up in the current state where few people are really happy with how things work and the only ones with the power to change it are the few people it benefits while the majority who would be happy to see change have no power to effect that change.

I'm not sure if a total overhaul of the EC system is necessary yet, but if changes are voted upon and made.

It'll never happen. No matter what other people in this thread think about its origins, it had nothing to do with 'most people not being able to vote' nonsense. It was a caveat to the smaller states to get them on board with signing the whole constitution. And it's still working exactly as it was planned back then. The smaller states do have a better say and are less likely to get overpowered in an election by the large states due to it.

As such, to make a change, or get rid of the EC all together, won't happen because of that. In order to ratify a constitutional amendment, or make changes to one, you need 3/4th's of the states approving the change. The current electoral college benefits maybe 11 or 12 states. Getting rid of it would screw over 38 small states. Not a chance in hell you will ever see it voted on to be gotten rid of. There's not even enough states who 'might' vote for that change to bother even mentioning it in congress. That idea is a total pipe dream of people who just don't understand that simple fact.

Probably lots of reasons Clinton didn't win but I think part of is white, American men (especially outside of big cities) kinda agree with Trump that women aren't much use outside of pussy grabbing, cooking, cleaning, & babysitting. No way they'd vote for a 'cunt' in the White House! Plus, bunches of 'their' women fall for these 'traditional roles' too! Nice to see that black men voted strongly for Clinton -- way to go guys!

I'm not sure if a total overhaul of the EC system is necessary yet, but if changes are voted upon and made... I'd like to see a requirement that to be CIC, the candidate must have done at least one 4 year stint in the military.
Ya know... while I may not completely agree with this and wouldn't probably vote for it I ALMOST would. I can agree pretty hard with the sentiment behind it or at least what I think it to be.

My take.
Hillary lost because she lacks much pizzazz. It took her until the third debate to make me cheer and FEEL something. In her pizzazz lacking she also completely failed to really reach out to those not already supporting her and instead focused more of her efforts on attacking Trump. We didn't need to be reminded of why Trump sucks, he does a pretty good job of that himself. We needed to feel connected to her and know why she rocks and she just didn't deliver. She was no match for the personal connection Trump made to the people. This is why Bernie was so popular, because he was like the liberal version of Trump and we as a nation need to feel personally invested in our candidate.
Obama set a high bar for campaigning and it IS going to be the new norm going forward me thinks.
Trumps unusual number of rallys after he nabbed the nomination was absolutely a genius move, and I think a very large part of why he won. I would be very surprised if every candidate going forward didn't take on this tactic.

I don't even know where to begin with that. Not sure if I even should since I'm guessing you're just trolling. But you're wrong on every count. The only point you tried to make there worth arguing is the black men voting for Clinton. Minorities are one of the big reasons she lost. The percentage of minorities voting for Obama (twice) just didn't stick around with her. And it's not they went to third parties either. Trumps minority numbers were higher than Romney's. He garnered quite a lot of votes across that whole demographic. It could easily be argued minorities are one of the main reasons Trump won.

Not really trolling re:the pussy-grabber-in-chief (sorry, there i go again :bag:), just a joke-y idea that came to mind I thought i could share among cam world people since people here are more exposed to that kind of talk from random guys visiting cam sites (gleened from reading posts here). I think you're dead wrong re: minorities and the vote (they went much more for Clinton) though i'm not going to go looking for/citing stats i read right after the election. Too much bother, don't want to argue, just appalled that Trump won
