I saw this episode when it was on tv. That dog is amazing! I wish I owned him...or wish my dog knew as much as he did!

I have a white German Shepherd, and he's a smart dog, just not nearly as smart as this one. I spell out words sometimes so that he doesn't know what I'm talking about, for example if I ask my daughter to take him outside, I sometimes spell out the word outside when I ask her. Otherwise he hears the word 'outside,' and he will go buzzing around the house until she actually brings him out. Only he's starting to understand that now too.

They rule also because they don't throw up all over your shit and poop in your house  (well...if you have a trained doggy)

in comparison to cats*
I've had about 14 cats in my life and 2 dogs.
IMHO, dogs are waaaay harder to potty train and regress in their training. MJ still poops on the carpet and he's 7 months old. But my cats took ONE day to learn and never, ever, had an accident outside of the litter box after that one day.

Dogs are definitely harder to train, but at least they shit outside. Cats still poop in your house even if it's in a litter box, assuming the litter box is probably somewhere in your house. I just can't stand having a litter box sitting around. My mom actually adopted a stray from her neighborhood and she trained it to poop and pee outside which is what I'd want to do.

And also I never knew MJ was so young! My last dog that I raised since puppy was crate trained and it took up until about a full year to year and half before she had completely 0 accidents in the house. MJ is still young, I bet he'll get it soon.

Two words: unconditional love.

I'm dying to get a pup, but I live alone in a not-huge place, and I occasionally up and disappear for a few days with no warning. I just don't feel like I could take care of a dog the way it deserves right now. In reference to another thread, I would not green-card marry someone for $5,000, but I might marriage of convenience someone for dog-sharing purposes.
