You mean in the member list?

I know on FireFox the order of the list goes who's been in the room longest. Names jumping around means they've left and come back.

The other browsers don't seem to have any order to them.

I don't know because I've seen my name and others move up, and down, and up. The same names... ? And I didn't even get dinner and a movie first.

never paid much attention to FF but with plain "E", Safari, Chrome and Iron, "time served" seems to be the key. I can be first into my main girls room and never leave. While I stay near the top, those that displace me and land above me always have join dates that are older. up and down is a result of those coming and going simply changing the list

From my experiance with 2 browsers

IE = Time in room
Chrome = Time as a member

Chrome's the only one that's ever seemed to have any sort of reason to its sorting from what I've seen. It is as has been stated many times in this thread. Others may say time in the room but I say it's muthafuggin' magic. That blue smoke makes things just happen sometimes. Better not let it escape!

yeah....about that post....connection problems
i really did respond :lol:

and i agree.....i rarely use ff, and never installed iron....but for explorer and chrome....i'm seeing "the place on the list" as "time served"

time served....gotta love that euphemism....certainly feels that way sometimes
:-D

the bigger question to me is....why does it matter where one is on "the list"?

You have to be kidding right? "Why should it matter" Yes, but, "Why does it matter". This is a easy question to answer. Because we are vain beast, and any chance we get to sort out our order we will try to make sense of it, that we might know where we stand in comparison. That would be my guess anyway.

thank you for the semantic correction :-D .....but i'll stick with does
whatever pecking order is percieved to be important in one's placement on the list is bogus, imo....tips and sociability are the only valid determinants of where one "stands" in a model's room.....or on the site for that matter.....

and mfc provides plenty of more subtle ways for a guy to stand out in the crowd

Personally I was mainly wondering if it was because of who the model was talking to or if it was something else. The higher up the name, the more she's talking to them? Kind of like a switchboard operator that lights up the little lights when she talks to the person calling.

Yeah it was not meant to be all that serious, and i was not suggesting that it really meant anything if one was to determine its order. I was more or less just expressing what drove my own curiosity about this in the past, while at the same time trying to express how silly those curiosities are.

Position is based on reward points for mfc anyway
I don't think so, Tim. I've known people with far more reward points than me who haven't been listed above me using Chrome, Firefox, or IE. I haven't tested Opera and will never test Safari but otherwise this one sounds like balderdash to me.

It is based on which browser you are using. Some use sign up date, and some use time in room. After you gain 1000 reward points, they only increase the number of pictures in the galleries.

I suspect users see different placement in rooms from what models set for themselves.... we do the same with camscore, alphabetically, status, and other settings. When we visit a room it always seems to be based on long term spending just like the lounges.

Points do not matter. Your browser decides what you see. Points are accumulated over time and some browsers assign position by sign up date so it is just a coincidence.

I agree because if it were based on Reward Points, then they should not be moving up, and down, and up again sporadically within minutes like a Pomeranian in heat hooked up to a heart rate monitor lolol.

Models cannot set the order for how members are displayed.

Looking through the code, users are sorted by type as follows; the broadcasting model, visiting models, admin users, friends, premiums, registered users, and named guests. A summary of other guests is tacked on.

Code:
SetHTML('people_contents', sDebug + (haPeople['model'] ? haPeople['model'].join(' ') : '') + (haPeople['vmodel'] ? haPeople['vmodel'].join(' ') : '') + (haPeople['admin'] ? haPeople['admin'].join(' ') : '') + (haPeople['friends'] ? haPeople['friends'].join(' ') : '') + (haPeople['premium'] ? haPeople['premium'].join(' ') : '') + (haPeople['registered'] ? haPeople['registered'].join(' ') : '') + (haPeople['named_guest'] ? haPeople['named_guest'].join(' ') : '') + sGuests);

I haven't found anything that sorts users within any particular type yet.

In Chrome at least, it is based on your "joined MFC" date...as for IE--who uses that????
