Why do a lot of models reject Bitcoin?

Because I can.

It's new. It's volatile. Its value fluctuates. It's a pain in the ass to convert. It requires I spend hours/days/large quantities of time I could otherwise have spent working for my actual currency to figure out how to price it, use it, etc. It's a gigantic pain in my ass.

99.9% of paying customers are ready and willing to pay me in such a manner that I get my local currency--directly, with no added work on my part, and no fluctuations in value.

So, the real question is, why should models accept bitcoin? Because I have a motivation of approximately zero, and I feel fairly confident most models will agree with me.

If someone wants to convince me to accept bitcoin, they'd better get to work selling me on it and no one has to date.

I think they're a great option, because they're an adult friendly, off the books way to receive payment. But if someone is unfamiliar or uncomfortable with being paid in something that isn't necessarily liquid or easily accessible to them (also fluctuates so there's risk in losing money) then you just have to respect that and move on. It hasn't been around long enough for many people to trust it.

Yeah, a few people like to take a walk on the wild side--gamble often enough, and you may strike pay dirt. A model I've known since I first started visiting cam rooms invested all her energy on Second Life, thinking she could make a bundle on Lindens. Didn't work out, unfortunately, so now she's pushing bitcoins.

Eh, I tried a while back in an attempt to appeal to a different group of people, because why not? Bitcoin users are just not interested in my experience, the overwhelming response was "Why would I pay when I can watch free porn all over the internet?" It's not a bad option if a customer approaches a model wanting to pay with it and she's comfortable, but I don't think it's a worthwhile demographic to put time and energy into marketing toward.

Actually, I have a bitcoin processor for my phone sex sites and it is not my thing. Personally, I do not like how the value goes up and down. In addition, I would use bitcoin to only cover very taboo fantasies or international clients only. You know, fantasies that most payment processors do not want to touch. However, I never had problems with taking Second Life lindens and I earn 1500 per month in lindens.:cat:

While there was a lot of excitement about Bitcoin as a vehicle for speculation at one point, it is now pretty easy to accept Bitcoin as payment and cash out immediately. Not every model likes having to keep track of that many different sources of income, and since the market for Bitcoin is small, and people who trade in them have, deservedly or not, a shady rep, there's very little perceived downside to giving them a pass.

I accept payments through Circle, which uses bitcoin. I just cash it out immediately, send it to my bank, no issues at all.

This is great. Circle works really well. You can also use coinbase. The beauty of bitcoin is that you don't have to worry about a 3rd party like paypal freezing your funds just because they feel like it. The transaction fees are extremely cheap. Yes it is volatile. If you were holding bitcoin for the last 30day, your holdings are now up +50%. It definitely has it's pros and cons.

I'm glad you guys have this thread up! There is this new site powered by Bitcoin that I'm trying to figure out if I should try or not...but I was trying to figure out how much you make because it's not 1 Bitcoin you get paid in but a mbc- so it takes 1000 of these mbc to make 1 bitcoin...idk- here's the site if you want to check it out. I don't know if any of the models are from the U.S. either, so I'm a lil sketch for us here... www.Xotika.tv.

Just want to point out that all currencies fluctuate. Probably don't realize it much if you're only accepting your country's currency. As an American with Euro income, let's just say I was much happier about it last year.....

Do some models accept Litecoin or Dogecoin?

I must be really out of the loop, because I've never heard of Litecoin or Dogecoin.

There is a locked down thread about it on here, some on reddit too.
They have gotten a lot better, I actually like the site itself except for the noisy chat beeps. Think they were going for a beta look XD
Though I have grown fond of occasionally watching their top (and oftentimes only) model RoyalTiffany, its just not enough to make me get involved in Bitcoin. Maybe if I already used it for other things would be different.
