Meh, I haven't, so why not?
During the summer I try to do nothing but rafting. Seriously, I practically live on a river. It's nothing for me to pull the boat into the eddy-side of a rock, pull the boat unto the rock and layout the Paco Pad right there. Seriously, during the summer I practically live on a fucking river. During the winter, I try to not be cold.
My boring ass professional experience; Went from your friendly neighborhood dealer pitching everything from bud to thizz. Caught myself a decent case so cleaned my act up, moved to Colorado to work in the family print shop where I did direct mail for a few years. Grew mail volume by 4x, became the largest mail-service provider in the Four Corners area, ask all the other ones, they all hate me.
During the time there I implemented a company blog so I could just put all the information I'm commonly asked into informative blog posts. It was more as a time-saver, but Google loved my shit and the post on "How Is Postage Calculated?" (now deleted in a redesign, fucking bastards) actually ranked 2nd for that particular query; right below USPS.gov and right above Ebay.com. I found out about it when we got a New York City client after reading that. He informed us of how he found us. I didn't even know about the concept of "SEO" at the time, but that's when I learned that there's something to this whole blogging / search engine thing.
So, really, really, really started researching and experimenting with that. Did a lot with the company website, and the new website for the mobile marketing services we started offering.
One day, a hard hat got thrown at me by my uncle at a very impressive speed. Seriously, those things aren't heavy or aerodynamic, I'm still shocked at how fast that thing flew threw the air, which as stupid as it was (reason for it is even stupider) it sparked a massive family falling-out (the family and company was very fractured to begin with, religious strife, mainly. We've all got a Chicago pedigree and they're all Mormon. Nuf said.)
So that was my outro from the printing industry (outside of local schmoozing on behalf of the company, which I still do too much of that).
Jumped onto the team of a political social media startup and implemented an interim platform on SocialEngine while the proprietary platform got developed in Pakistan. The company seeding the entire operation got hijacked Mexican Standoff status. A group of difectants filled a pocket-LLC and tried claiming that a bunch of tech in every single BP (Or Marathon, which basically acquired half of BP's infrastructure for pennies on the dollar because BP can't stop blowing shit up and paying settlements because of it) facility was proprietary to their LLC and not the seeding company. It'd require a hardware forensics if it went to trial, and Big Oil would of ditched both parties, so the seeding company's only play was to settle in litigation. The terms meant the company could no longer seed the social media startup, so it tanked.
From there I started freelancing WordPress development and SEO. I also hooked up with some IDX specialists, which fuck IDX only because it's impossible to work with real estate companies. Seriously, a bunch of glorified used car salesmen these real estate agents are. Fucking impossible to deal with, too.
By that point, I'm really making enough money off affiliate marketing to squeak by. nothing lavish, but could live off it. Mainly web hosting and email marketing affiliate programs. Go with what you know, right? Sure, I'm still freelancing, but at this point it's about picking and choosing winners and the economic impact of SW Colorado, as I've got some serious vested interests in the well-being of this area.
So, one day I get an email from a Streamate model about some web development and SEO work. This is how I'm exposed to the camming industry and we talk a lot of shop. A lot of shop. BTW, I start lurking around on this forum as well as Stripper Web quite a bit at that point, just doing some research.
I see the potential in the industry, and I hear first hand from Steamate girly about the money in it.
*SO* in a very "me" style, I throw some shit against the wall to see if it sticks, create Webcam Startup. Potential is a major understatement and it only takes a month before I realize the potential. I go really, really, really, really, really hard for a year and now I'm the largest camming / amateur resource site. Since then, I've fired all my clients and sunset a lot of projects because I really don't need them. Could retire (basically have) off camming alone.
There were some resource sites before me, and there have been many, many, many copycats that popped up after me. I can't hate, especially because I'm too busy laughing. I know how big of a struggle it was (camming model SEO is
TOUGH, I was insanely surprised and I had to fight).
Fast-forward a year later and here we are!
*SO*, I'm not a model, half of you will probably view me as a leech, but that's okay. I'm political, I'm used to being hated by half the population. Half of you will probably think I'm a sleazy SEO, which, check out some niche sites promoting nothing but ICamz or Internet Modeling and explain to me exactly how sleazy I am in comparison.
For the other half; I'm a very, very good person to know. I'm in bed with the majority of the industry at this point. Hell, many entities that you know well (not naming names) have tried to acquire me. I've got some major connections. I'm also a guru (top percentile) when it comes to SEO, and as far as marketing goes, I know everything from digital to direct-fucking-mail.
So, if you ever want to talk shop about anything, it's what I do anymore. If anyone wants to quiz me about anything related to marketing, please do so. If you've got questions about any of the sites, I can offer some insight that very few can, as I've got the metrics from my site, and in some cases, their sites.
If you ever want to pitch me on projects (models, webmasters, networks, whatever), do so. I'm very receptive.
Oh yeah, If you want to know anything about growing weed, I'm pretty awesome at that, too
.......Feels kind of pathetic that my short professional resume is more in-depth than my personal life......But I guess my personal life can be summed up as; "I grow weed and raft, bitch!".
