I would say it isn’t even a safety issue; it can be a free taste gone too far situation. Personally I’ve been captured twice but with horrible quality I like 320 pixels, so I commented on the vids myself directing people to my room from there. If I’d been captured in HD quality I would think twice about linking it. I would be unsure about wanting people to share my videos with my room, possibly even emptying my room that I’m trying to have tip me while i perform. Also if I’m selling vids on manyvids I don’t want people people being easily directed to free 2 hour long HD+ content for example.

It is horrible when people do this. Alot of us have private lives that we like to keep private. I had one guy discover my real name, and send images to my fsmily on facebook. It was horrific.
This reminds me of a chat site I discovered many many years ago, I believe the name of the site was Broadcaster. No age verification, no credits or tokens to tip, It was a free-for-all website. This one (Crazy) cam girl had mentioned that she accidentally burned down her own house, someone that knew her hometown did a Google search and found a news article on the house fire. This person then posted the news article on her cam stream, her real name was In that article.
Those were some crazy days on that cam site, the website went off line a few months later.
Had a request recently by email from a man "Very truly needing to get the video" that was up on one of the sites we hosted (and then it rotated off the free section). Dude was from India and said it would have a "Detrimental effect on his personal life". Oddly it came off as the guy having an arranged marriage to the girl that was/looked like the model in the video, and wanting to double-check after an evening of fapping to freebies when he didn't take screenshots. I don't know what makes me think the scenario was as it was, but I ended up blacklisting him as he started spamming my email with these odd requests "find me this video no matter what or else".

Totally, and the appropriate way to interact with the webcam model you like and have an interest in is on the site they're working on where you found them, in a way that doesn't infringe on their privacy, and is respectful of the fact that they are working. So going looking for them where they haven't explicitly said they want to be found is probably a bad idea.

If she's moved on with her life, so should you. As lousy as it may make you feel, not everyone who leaves camming is going to post an "I decided to stop camming" announcement. Some may just leave one day, and never come back. All you can really do is keep checking her camming Twitter page for updates, and her camming profiles in case she becomes active again. Keep any notification features enabled so that you're informed if she goes live again (Even though I hear those notification features don't always work properly). Maybe - before her profiles are deactivated for good - if you send a nice offline tip with a message like "Miss you on here. Hope all is well," she'll respond to say thank you.

Which shouldn't be hard for guys to find (if the model still goes by the same screen name) if they're following her on social media, and she updates it with those changes. But some dudes just don't wanna use that noggin of theirs. I've seen guys in Streamate chat rooms sit there asking the model about other sites she's on, but Streamate models aren't even allowed to say "Follow me on Twitter at ____" without risking suspension/ban (Which I think is dumb as fuck, but whatever). The model will give them clues like "That site with the little blue bird that goes twee, tweet, tweet!," and some guys will catch on...while others are sitting there like huh? Lol. Then you have the guys who just absolutely refuse to join Twitter, but then they get an attitude when they keep "missing you online." Lol. "Maybe you can just send me an e-mail every time you get on cam, bb?" Um...wtf? Ain't nobody doing all that, your Highness. You can follow...subscribe...whatever just like everybody else.

That's all right if the model behaves professionally.
But how do you judge the situation when the model binds the visitor closely and builds a relationship with the visitor over time? When she wants to be a friend to share your problems and worries with (because she actively asks about them). When the model sends messages herself when the visitor is not online for two days. When she writes "I've missed you so much" every time she visits. What if she declares that she is only happy with the visitor and that she needs him?
Is this part of the game, a one-sided manipulation or maybe even a two-sided dependency?
Probably the simplest solution would be to say not to get involved. But real life is also full of addictions that one did not expect.
It's probably a hustle if she hasn't told you to stop visiting her on cam, paying for shows, tipping, buying content.
Some cammodels schtick is to sell the whole gfe without you realizing it.
If you think it's real, stop spending money. Tell her, and see how she reacts. Does she keep treating you the same or does she ignore you?

Wow. I've felt some disappointment when certain members haven't been in my room for a while (That's bound to happen), but they're not obligated to visit me...and I'm not gonna private message them interrogating them about it. What are we...boyfriend and girlfriend? Lol.
This attachment...infatuation...whatever you wanna call it - that we keep hearing about in posts on here (Guys falling for cam models, and now analyzing everything she says/does, getting their feelings hurt and making long-winded posts about their feelings and how much they've spent on her) is a bit too cringey for me, and why I've never been interested in using the "Rinse him for his money...if he wants to meet up, pretend to go along with it" tactic. Unless the guy is paying for GFE and is fully aware that she's just acting, imo it's not the best idea to be enabling these guys with paragraphs of super mushy "Oh, bb, I need you so much..." stuff, and getting their hopes up about meeting IRL. Especially when we're the ones usually telling guys "It's a cam site...not a dating site...virtual only." You could give me the biggest tip of my life, and I'm still not gonna be entertaining the idea of meeting up with you IRL. This isn't Tinder. There are definitely lots of addictions out there. Like that college student that was facing eviction because she blew her rent money on Beyonce tickets. Definitely don't wanna put yourself in a situation where you're losing your home because you got carried away with tipping your favorite model.
There was a thread on here recently from some guy claiming he is DONE with cam models, and then supposedly a model sent him a long letter saying all the right things, and now he's reconsidered. Lol.
Well, in this special case I guess there won't be a chance to ask. The model quit unexpectedly. If she was a professional then she was better than all other models I know. But on the other hand she was not very successful and did the job only for some months yet. So I don't belive that all she did was part of a story.
What I wanted to say in my first post: I don't think you can see it black or white. It always depends on the situation.
And to bring it to an end: I don't think that this model had a happy life and I can't imagine that she does have a better now. For me it's hard to turn off everything human when it comes to a talk, but I have learned my lessons.
if she quit, leave her be. this industry has so many models coming in and out. if she wanted to stay in contact, she would have given you her info. don't try to internet stalk a model who no longer working in the industry. that is super duper creepy. respect she is gone and didn't want to say goodbye. so many models quit without telling their audience.
i don't believe this the special case that you think it is.

This is just my little member perspective on things to the above posts, but I think a good amount of models use camsites as getting money for a temporary situation (i.e. college, paying debts, etc.) and not necessarily as a long term plan. Camsites also tend to have a fair share of toxicity (*cough* CB pub chat *uncough*) that goes around on them too, so the nature of it kind of makes you want to leave it behind with a clean break. If a model has moved on with their life / career into non-camsite related things, even hanging onto a contact with a member could bring back the associations of that camsite. Thus, even if there was a friendship was formed to an extent, it would need to be something strong enough to merit worth beyond not getting a fully clean break. It's like being friendly vs being friends.
Long term friendships can happen, but it's rare. The model would also bring it up if she wanted to. Quitting camming was likely not an impulse decision, plus I'm sure she knows that if you are a regular, she could go back online and you'd be there to swap contact info. Her not doing that says a lot.
I think it's also important to realize that camming is emotional manipulation. There's no other way around it, albeit I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing in most instances. It's a fantasy. A cam model's job, to an extent, is to be alluring/attractive to members so their wallets open up. Thus a model is likely going to be more agreeable overall and going to exaggerate feelings. That's just the nature of camsites, but it makes sense, since a lot of members suck at flirting, and/or are much older than the model, probably not attractive to the model, and have little in common. It's a forced match driven by finances rather than personality matches. Members spend more on models that they think they click with rather than models that they think are disgusted by them.
Trying to creep on her and get unrequested contact through scavenging through the internet is one sure way she won't want to talk again though.

Well, I mean, I think entertainment in general is emotional manipulation too. Like a musician creates songs that evokes certain feelings for the audience. An artist often creates an art piece that makes onlookers feel a certain way. Performers try to put on a smile, since people like watching smiles rather than neutral faces / frowns. Camming creates certain physical/emotional for onlookers in a similar way. Emotional manipulation sounds like it has a negative connotation, but I didn't mean it to be a bad or ethically wrong thing here. It only becomes bad past a certain point (like scams or lies beyond the scope of the cam for financial gain).
