White knights.

Ladies, what are your thoughts on White knights.

Do you find them charming or do they harm the atmosphere in your rooms?

Members, what are your thoughts on the guys who defend ladies even when there is nothing to defend?

Seems like a loaded question because to me "white knight" is an inherently negative term? Someone who (as you said) rushes to defend someone who doesn't need it, as opposed to just a nice dude who stands up for models or something.

Guys who jump in without letting a model handle it bug me, but a member who says "oy, rude" when someone's being rude isn't a problem to me.

Maybe I need a definition, lol. What makes someone a white knight?

Not a fan. Not a fan at all. They pair perfectly with the camgirls who cry and whine on camera and social media though. So, I guess there's someone for everyone.

When someone is being rude or annoying, it's up to the model to handle her own room. I frequently use the "ignore user" function and block them so I don't have to see their comments.

I agree it is up to the model to handle the members in the room and to deal with those members that are annoying. Even though I like the ignore the user sometimes you miss most of the chat in the room.

I dislike them for a number of reasons...

• It's a model's job (literally) to run their own room, enforcing their own rules. It's not the job of some random dood on the internet to try and do it for them
• There's a probably quite sexist root of their behaviour, whether they're conscious of it or not; the notion that these women need someone to stick up for them whenever even a hint of trouble arises
• Having a vagina does not preclude someone from being wrong. Models, no matter how pretty, are human beings and thus, just like the rest of us, are capable of being wrong from time to time. Blindly leaping to their defence no matter what benefits nobody
• Their behaviour, no matter how well-intentioned, likely leads to their favourite model(s) missing out on tips, higher room counts, and even new regular members.

This is something I noticed and have left rooms I was going to tip in because of a white knight slamming people for nothing. Really can kill a room.

Aren't they also the same people who react to a member's "Wow, you're pretty!" remark by saying "Yeah, she IS pretty. So why don't you tip her then?" *facepalm* So uncalled for.

One of my old regulars was like that. He'd constantly jump down the throat of anyone who dared talk in my room, and if someone made a request without tipping first he'd throw a fit, despite never tipping himself. I put up with him when I was new because he was one of the only people who was literally always on when I was. and he was able to hold a conversation, but he chased away a really big tipper once and after that I finally realized he had to go.

In short: white knights are a pain and nobody likes them. They do more harm than good, even if the model doesn't see it.

Sometimes I use the above on MFC when some clown steps out of line in my favorite models room, happens only 1-2 times a year, and the model is OK with it ...

What @GenXoxo early in the thread. Everyone agrees that "white knights" are a bad thing, the discussion concerns what behaviour does or doesn't constitute whiteknightism - of which there's bound to be some difference of perception between different models.

Nobody likes that.

I think sometimes, though, well-intentioned regulars can get frustrated and say something to the room. If they haven't tipped that day, or recently during that cam shift, it can appear as though they are non-tippers yelling at other freeloaders even though that's not the actual case. But it can still give off a bad vibe, so it's probably best if members never really did such things.

The alternative to this is starting a little tip wall of a small amount of tokens with a publicly visible tip note, such as "join me, it only takes a few tokens!" or something. I have a member or two who do this sometimes and it's fun and frequently gets at least one more person to chip in.

I ban them quicker than anyone else.
