Where did you first hear about your favorite cam site?

Hi everyone, I'm working on a few freelance projects that relate to the Achilles hill of webcam sites, models, and affiliates alike. It's not TRAFFIC, but CONVERSIONS.
Lots of folks can bring traffic, lots of folks can buy traffic, there are traffic giants that will sell it to you, there are SEO agencies too. Conversions however, are the make it or break it factor of every online purchase, be it tokens, credits, or membership packages.
In order to address this, I decided to employ the straight forward approach I've learned in vanilla e-commerce, and that means start with the members, the customers.
Where did you first hear about the website you're a member in? Was it a social media post? Was it a banner? Was it a search on one of the engines? Was it a mobile? Was it a desktop? There's no need to disclose a link, or a specific website, I just wish to finally discuss this without patronizing with so called big data, extremely long words, that marketers often use in order to try and impress. I like talking to people, with people, but not at people, so your feedback is awesome, and truly appreciated
I'm not gathering data from this post, this is not a survey, I'm just getting the feel, and trying to become wiser.

P.S, I'm never going back to payment solutions ever again

I used a search engine. Google more specifically.
I was looking for a specific term "milf" and it brought up the same sites over and over again. I always used to look by "images" but one was a thumbnail from a lady on Chaturbate. I clicked it and that was my first ever time going to any type of camsite, excluding times where popups/popunders divert you - because with those I would just close, assuming they were just recorded videos.

I had never thought about live sites before, but now I am glad - I haven't looked at "normal" porn since, I much prefer the whole interaction side, which is funny because originally I thought those that were talking were absolute idiots. Now I am happy to be one of those lol.

Then I landed, I think passing through her twitter, in the room of Doxie who was mounting one herself, streaming live topless from her workshop.
I loved the idea and I stood stuck in her room for weeks.
I remember that I was not long to get my first tokens to be able to exchange on technical things, as she was tuned with "Chat Allowed By: Users who tipped me today"

I don't say that I was innocent and never looked for sex on the net but only serious things but
I never been attracted by live sites before. When searching porn and finding any cam site from direct links, or closed rooms... I couldn't get the notion and was a bit disgusted by site's walls which seemed to me at first glance a (s'cuse my french) 'rabbit breeding'

The long and winding road that lead me to MFC...or a autobiograpy of Useful-title:
Well, I found some ladies on Instagram selling nudes and videos (this was before Insta was bought by Facebook). So I did that for a little bit...then found a link to MyGirlFund in one of thier bios.
So, I joined MyGirlFund...enjoyed that for a bit...found out about Tumblr from models on there (this was before Yahoo! bought Tumblr). From Tumblr I found out about MyFreeCams and Chaturbate. Created accounts on both sites...and have found that MFC is the place for me.

tl: dr version: I just followed models I liked until I got to MFC.

For me it always was because it would take you to a room you don't give a crap about; a random room.
If it took you to a room that was at least similar to what you was looking for (in my case "MILFs"), then it could be ok, but even then I personally didn't see it as *real*.

That's spot on. People don't zap the web like the old TV, or just scroll the Facebook feed in our case. We have to be relevant to their interests.

I had seen some content that a friend had given me which had been downloaded, and it had a logo on the video. I was curious, so I went to the site that had the logo and started checking it out and have become a regular paying visitor since.

I've been on camsites for so long my memory is a little fuzzy, but I think I remember. I was browsing a tube site (forgive me!) and a jasmin pop up got me. i liked the live cam idea, but not the site, so i googled something like live webcams or the like. The first thing that came up was cams.com. It's been a decade, and I'm still not sure about the site, but i do like the girls, so I'm still there. I later found mfc because a model on cams told me if i signed up there and tipped my first 200 tokens she would do the show I was asking about for private. Looking back, that could have been an absolutely horrible idea, but it worked out great.

I was on a adult forum back in 2005-06 and the ads for LJ kept popping up. I thought it was just a scam site at first.
Then one day I was like. okay.. Clicked it and was all.. Well this is interesting.

Was not really a fan of LJ. So I did a Google search for other camsites and discovered Cam4 in 2007-08. That was home for a bit until I met someone and left the cam world for a few years.
Then after that ended I was bored one night and went through old bookmarks and found that some of my fav Cam4 broadcasters went over to CB. This was like in 2012? Been there ever since along with a few other sites currently

This is cool stuff and insights. Not only the aggressive push advertising (pop ups, non controlled jumping windows, re-directions) didn't work, it made you guys look for another brand and a camsite in some cases.
I was wondering if any of you were reading blogs, or reviews first, prior to making a decision to beome a member. I know from vanilla e-commerce, that it usually takes me more than one visit to a website before I decide to become a paying member, I was wondering if it's the same in our case.

I think we can all agree that it's a little different than a shopping experience on Shopify, or a goods marketplace. The same basic rules apply, but our experience is a little more complex and intimate. Correct if I'm wrong please.
