When would I be able to realistically look at camming full-time

I honestly love camming. It's stressful right now since I'm juggling it and a full-time job/my partner is out of the job so I'm the only one covering bills until they find something else, but when I'm not under all this stress I actually enjoy doing it.

I know it isn't going to be a piece of cake, trust me, I've been doing this for two years now and am just now getting somewhere beyond tumblr. I have regular customers, I actually make (minimum) payout every month on MV, but I am by no means making bank. My time is very limited right now, so I have an infrequent schedule and as such can not be at my maximum potential.

So the question is: How will I know when I'm ready to cam/make porn full-time? I'm mentally ready, sure, but I know that's not enough. Will it be when I'm able to hit my goal on CB almost every time rather than every fifth time I stream? Will it be when I get new customers more regularly than every other month? Will it be when I don't have to stress at being at Just Barely The Payout Minimum? Or will it be something else?

Sorry if this sounds jumbled or repeated, my husband and cat are bickering and I'm unable to focus haha

My advice would be to tough it out for a month or two and work the hours you plan to if you quit. You won't know realistically what you will earn unless you do so. You can extrapolate and do calculations based on averages per hour but hourly tends to sink the more you work and the more frequent your shifts. Additionally the timing of your projected shift will effect it.

It will suck. You probably won't have much time to do anything else except sleep, if even that. But imo if you really want to know you just have to do it. It will be tough but it's also good conditioning for when you're only camming. There will be days and nights you might have to flip your schedule completely at the drop of a hat, times you might have to marathon, times you might want to split shifts and hit peak times.

These are all very real possibilities that could replace your reg job. For most models camming alone, making "bank" is obtained with self discipline and consistency.

If you don't want to do that, you could just take a deep breath and quit your job and just do it. Because your so isn't bringing income right now I personally wouldn't, my two cents. But you can simulate that scenario beforehand and take the more calculated risk route.

Good luck!

Another suggestion is to diversify your income. A lot of us work several different sites in order to maintain our incomes so put yourself out there. From what I have gathered CB and MFC require you to have a more set schedule in order to gain and maintain regulars so maybe give streamate a try. SM is much more forgiving when it comes to just logging on when you have time and they reward you for putting in hours and being online not just for the amount of money you make.
If you are making videos you may want to check out C4S and IWantClips to see if your interested in posting your videos there as well. Check out phone sex sites like niteflirt and sextpanther and if your interested in doing skype shows give CMD (cam model directory) a chance. There are plenty of ways to make money in this industry and while camming can be very lucrative there are a lot of other amazing options that may help you get to where you want to be faster.
You mention tumblr but don't say anything about a twitter or snapchat so if you don't have either of those consider creating accounts with them as well to help promote your brand.

Goodluck! Its can be seriously scary to start your own business and leave everything else behind but it can also be very rewarding.

Edit: another idea would be to cut your hours at reg. Job to accommodate your realistic cam schedule.
if this is a possibility id 100% vote for this. Its hard to know what you can make unless your putting in the time and effort and thats nearly impossible to do while maintaining a full time vanilla job.

Could you elaborate on your first post again? What I'm reading is "take your proposed schedule for a test drive while working your other job to see what it might be like." but I just want to be sure I understand (I get confused with context sometimes r.i.p)

As for cutting hours at the vanilla job, it would honestly be for the best even if I wasn't looking at camming full-time. I work 12 hours a day, alternating 3 day/4 day weeks. All I have time to do is eat and sleep. I keep getting injured at work, I'm stressed as fuck, and I'm just barely barely scraping by with what I'm earning there.

I just now got started on AP, I've been doing MV for a few months (I'm not sure how it's gonna work out for me. Everything seems to get buried under everyone else's work), I do not yet have enough clips to open my C4S store, I have an Onlyfans, and I'm testing out Youkandy. I stream on CB, but am interested in MFC as well. I hear everyone talk about niteflirt, but I don't really know what it is? I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to phone calls, so it may be best for me to set that aside and come back to it later.

And yeah, ever since tumblr implemented the new feature, my activity has taken a nose dive. It doesn't matter how much I advertise or how hard I bust my ass if nobody can even see it. I do sell snapchat and I do use twitter, though right now it's more of a plug for MV and Youkandy to raise my scores. I'm not really sure how to actually use it.

Ah man, how could I forget reddit? I want so badly to be certified for r/sexsells, but I have to reach a certain amount of karma and I'm apparently not funny or relatable enough haha (that or I truly can not keep up with technology these days and am just using the site completely wrong)

Clip sites can take a while. You have to do clips frequently to get your name out there. Also quite a few wait till they've seen you produce quite a bit to know you won't quit camming or clip making any time soon (obviously this is often the case with camsite tippers too.) Right now I'd focus on using clip sites to get your name out more than sales there. Use them to promote your clips on social media. Use your cam name in your clip tags as well as your social media handle. This will tell folks where they can find you. Be sure to also post on social media when you're on cam to help drive some in when they see your link.

Yes, my first suggestion is to work both.

Do you have kids or school? How many hours do you plan on working on cam when you quit vanilla?

I don't have kids or school, though school may change after our year lease is up and we move.

I plan on working the same amount of hours as with my vanilla job, but giving myself a 10-12 hour variable shift (blogging, streaming, scripting, editing, keeping premium accounts updated, etc). I'm going to take my weekends, while full-time vanilla, to build up to that and see how that pans out for me. I know it's easy to say that I could do 10 hours 4-5 days a week, but actually doing it may give me some insight on if that could be a reality or not.

I think that sounds like a realistic and good plan. You know what you're doing and your limits- 2 years is experienced enough to make it work. I think you'll do great!

Sometimes when things like the Tumblr BS hit you, you have to switch up what you're doing. Do you have twitter? Get people to follow you there.

Maybe trying a different cam site that is less community based and more individual private show based that could work better with your schedule (ie. streamate) I had a hard time getting consistent income on CB but after I got on the first page of SM my income was way more steady. I also found it less exhausting.

Clips take a while to really start pulling in a lot of money, I'd suggest putting more time into camming and only have a video go up every few days. Also, try other clip sites just to diversify your audience.

NiteFlirt is great once it gets going, but that can be a slow start and you have to invest a bit into it. NF is now my main money maker but it took a while to get there. I totally get what you're saying about phone anxiety, mine used to be so bad I'd cry at an unexpected call but working NF helped me so much. They have a phone with cam section and that feels less like a phone call and more like a private (since you do it over skype)

If you make the right changes and tough it out like others said you could be full time in a matter of months, but sometimes things crash and you have to start all over again. I know a lot of girls wait a year of steady income before quitting their vanilla job. If it's possible once you start making some money camming maybe go part-time with your vanilla job as a safety net until you feel pretty stable with camming.
