August 29, 2001. I remember it vividly because it was the first day in my first rental living alone (and first year at university). I was exploring the town. I remember trying to sneakily get past the woman at the desk without notice because I was very shy in regards to sex at that point of my life.

Then 9/11 happened and everyone's life changed forever.

I go into adult 'bookstores' (do they still call them that? Geez, I feel old) about once every year or so. Usually it's out of boredom and not necessity. I might buy something while I'm there, but I really only go in for the 'Oh look, let's check out what they've got' sorta thing. Most of them still have DVDs.

When was the last time I was in a store that primarily sold DVDs? About the last time I bought one. Nearly 9 or 10 years ago. Ever since, the internet has replaced them.

our queer& woman friendly sex shop is about 50% books and I think they have a couple DVDs (think tristan taorimo and the like).

Theres another place that used to be a dvds/VHS store but now they mostly sell 200% marked up ebay lingerie and cheap eastern european sex toys.

I was a very young child when actual porn stores were a thing.
