I came across a site called "Statbate." It appears to tracking, in live time, all the tipping that is occurring on the highest earning, several thousand rooms/models at any given time, on a few major sites (Chaturbate, Stripchat, and others). Okay, so I have some questions:

1. Who is doing this and why? Is this information aimed at members or models who are curious about the biggest donors and earners? Or is there some other value for that type of site? (or maybe even a kind of advertising for the industry?)

2. How is this done? Unless the cam sites allow that site to link to data feeds (hard to imagine), are they trawling thousands of rooms with some kind of scripting?

3. Lastly, who are these members spending $40,000, $50,000 and a few even upwards of $100,000 per month on cam sites? I know there are some very wealthy people in the world. And maybe $100,000 per month to an early Bitcoin mega investor, a major sports star, or some oil sultan might be like $1,000 a month to "average" earning people.

Still, it's interesting information. For example, according to the site, the aptly named sophies_lover is spending an average of over $33,000 per month on SophieBailey (Stripchat). (incidentally #1 on the site, I noticed..not a surprise). That's devotion. (And I hope he's really her lover, with that level of expenditure). ha ha

Meanwhile, there are a few members spending over $50,000 monthly, but spread across dozens or even over a hundred different models.

There's not really a question in #3. I just found it fascinating. Well...maybe there is a question: If you are a model who has one doner spending such a very large amount on you, like $40,000 consistently each month, how is such a situation managed? It seems like you would, in effect, work for that member and be under considerable pressure (I guess the hope is that it's a nice person?). It seems it would be better to have 10 members, each at one tenth of that level. Anyway, really interesting.

1. Who is doing this and why? Is this information aimed at members or models who are curious about the biggest donors and earners? Or is there some other value for that type of site?

Because some people are absolutely fascinated with what cammers make and what members spend. I'd say it's more aimed at members, to sate their curiosity. I suppose some models may also look at it to see what top models are making, but I think most models would understand that those sites won't actually help if they're looking to see how much they would need to make to be at the top of their sites. Which I'll explain why with the next answer.

2. How is this done? Unless the cam sites allow that site to link to data feeds (hard to imagine), are they trawling thousands of rooms with some kind of scripting?

Not very accurately. They only track public tips. So, any tips that don't show up in your room (ninja tips, offline tips, tips during privates) and I believe tokens made from private shows won't be included in that data, and for some models, they can make a lot of money from those sort of tips. That's why like I mentioned in the previous answer, most models aren't going to get accurate data if they're looking at those sites to see how much they would need to make for certain ranks/site placements and why the sites are mostly just aimed at nosy members.

Why care? If I'm remembering correctly, you've made quite a few posts about big spending regulars. People are wealthy for a ton of different reasons, and some of those people enjoy spending money on pretty girls. But honestly, it's really none of our business what whales do for a living or why they spend as much money as they do.

(And I hope he's really her lover, with that level of expenditure)

This is such a gross way of thinking, to think that if someone is spending large amounts of money on a model, they should be sleeping with them.

1. He goes by sanasol, it's not a secret I see that he has talked about it publicly (I checked before posting his name). As for why? Because he wanted to have the information and share it.

2. Bots, no it wouldn't be allowed obviously.

3. I don't know what they do.

There are bigger stripchat whales they just currently taking a break

Here we go again with the gross “I hope he’s fucking her with how much money he’s giving her” comments (even if that’s not quite how it was worded). 🙄 Just stop. Sometimes it really is okay to not blurt out every thought that enters your head.

yeap, clearly bots, because I can for sure say it's also not accurate in each room :) actually far from it

I'd say it's more aimed at members, to sate their curiosity.
It seems like a lot of effort but considering your point about inaccuracy (not including private tips, etc.), I guess curiosity would have to be the main interest it's addressing.
They only track public tips.
Thanks - I did wonder if that could be done by whatever method is being used to "scrape" this information.
Why care?
"Care" is too strong a word. Lots of people are curious about all sorts of things in life (take celebrities and their goings-on, for example - paying attention to them supports a huge business by itself). I might find it mildly interesting for five seconds to hear that some celeb is getting divorced, or got busted, or whatever, but saying I care or I'm devoting a lot of time to it would be a major stretch.
you've made quite a few posts about big spending regulars.
Not really. But as stated above, it falls into category of being interested in a variety of things about the industry. And a lot of things in life, generally.
some of those people enjoy spending money on pretty girls. But honestly, it's really none of our business what whales do for a living or why they spend as much money as they do
Anything in life that's an exception or stands out as uncommon, tends to get people interested. A guy spending $300,000 or $500,000 per year on cam sites, especially given how it's cloaked in secrecy, is relatively rare and kind of interesting. What harm is there if people find such things interesting?
This is such a gross way of thinking, to think that if someone is spending large amounts of money on a model, they should be sleeping with them.
Well, this was a bit of a joke: The member did make his user name "sophie's_lover" and the model's name is sophie. 😂 But I'll go out on a limb and say that if hearing a man is giving $400,000 per year to a model, at least 80% of people - men or women - will have that same thought. Maybe more.

What would be gross about it anyway? It's been said many times here that some models are also escorts, sugar babies, or do other types of SW - and that no one should judge it - so I'm not sure why this is a gross idea.

The member did make his user name "sophie's_lover" and the model's name is sophie. 😂
Most likely because she has an affiliate link and wanted him to use it for the rev share portion of the program. She gets 20% of however much he spends on top of what he's tipping her. Lots of models have something similar going on and her name being part of his name is her proof he did just that.

Here we go again with the gross “I hope he’s fucking her with how much money he’s giving her” comments
I think the member invited at least joking about this idea by making his user name "sophie's_lover" when the model is sophie. And yes, combine that with spending $400,000 a year on her and I really don't think it's so bad for such a thought to at least enter one's mind. 😂 How many men wouldn't at least wonder about it? Or women for that matter?

Thank you. See...I learn something new about this industry almost every time I'm on this forum!

This was, in fact, just a "tongue in cheek" comment...a bit of humor. Even if there was some special "arrangement" between these people outside of modeling, I would not expect it to be advertised by how the member chose his username.

Posts like yours invite more of the “Why spend money like that on a cam girl you can’t even fuck…when you could just get a hooker?” (Yeah, there are guys who still use the term “hooker”) comments…and dudes bonding over sharing that sentiment. Ick. I’d expect that kind of talk among the jerks over on Reddit. Not really the kind of talk that I wish to see here on a sex worker forum. I just find it tacky, and as long as you’ve been posting here, you should know better. I do believe this isn’t the first time people on here have talked to you about some of the stuff you say. Anyway, I’m at Wegmans, so I’ll revisit this thread later when I have time. See ya.

I'm not familiar at all with how bots work, so I don't know exactly how easy or hard it would be to write a script/set up a bot that tracks model's public tips. The people running these sites probably have ads on them or have an affiliate link, so I doubt they're doing this completely for free or not trying to make some money off of it.

I went do a quick look at your post history to make sure the posts I was remembering wasn't done by another forum user, and I found this thread:

You've been making long posts about whales since you first started posting here over a year ago. I dunno, to me that seems like more than just "mild curiosity".

Anything in life that's an exception or stands out as uncommon, tends to get people interested. Maybe I'm just different than most people, then. Because I don't really find it all that interesting. I think the only time I've been like "Oh wow, that's cool" was when RocknRose got the biggest tip on MFC, and even then, I wasn't sitting there speculating on what that guy does for a living or if he was in a sexual relationship with her. It was a fleeting "I'm happy for her" thought. Never felt the urge to look deeper into it or make a post asking about the member and his motivations or life.

Then again, I just do not care at all about other people's finances. I'm concerned with my bag, and my bag only. /shrug

There's no harm in it, just sort of weird.

What would be gross about it anyway? It's been said many times here that some models are also escorts, sugar babies, or do other types of SW - and that no one should judge it - so I'm not sure why this is a gross idea.

I didn't say it would be gross if they were having an irl sexual relationship. I said "that is such a gross way of thinking" to you making a comment that "hopefully he is actually her lover". Because it is gross to say that someone should hopefully be getting sex just because they're spending a certain amount of money. That comment made it seem like you think if you had the money to tip thousands a month, you would be owed sex. Which is gross, because no one is owed or entitled to sex. Whether or not that was your intention, that's how it came across.

So don't misconstrue what I said to make it sound like I think that fssw is gross, because I do not and I've been very vocal about my support for all forms of sex work in the almost seven years I've been a part of the sex work industry.

Anyway, maybe he is a submissive and has a findom fetish. Maybe he just has the disposable income to shower a model in tips because that's his hobby. Tons of guys spend inordinate amounts of money on other hobbies, like collecting certain things. Shit, people spend insane amounts of money on NFTS or digital products. Why not scrutinize them? And also, maybe they are having an irl relationship. But, much like with other people's finances, I don't care at all about other people's sex lives. I only care about mine.

Also, it's pretty common on MFC for members to have their fav model's name in their own username. Go to any top model's room and you'll see it a lot. So, "***'s_lover" isn't really something that shocking.

I wasn't aware that this was a theme, so I definitely wasn't trying to invite comments about it.

Well, I do sometimes forget that this is not a general discussion board for the public, but rather, a board for cam models.

No I think what you forget is that cam models are watching you say these things.

You've been making long posts about whales since you first started posting here over a year ago. I dunno, to me that seems like more than just "mild curiosity".
You're citing some comments and questions I asked about "whales" in someone else's post 14 months ago. I'm not sure I see the problem. I didn't know much about the business at that time, and even at this point, I'm still learning new things and I ask questions about a lot of topics. Maybe I'm just an inquisitive person? 😂
There's no harm in it, just sort of weird.
To each his or her own, I guess. I've assumed that cam models are accepting of all kinds of stuff that the "average person" who is not in this business would find weird or repulsive or negative in some way. Given some of the really far out fetishes and kinks and all manner of customers, one would think you all are the most easy-going and accepting of people. But my expressing curiosity about the various behaviors and attitudes of customers, or asking different things about the business, is weird? I don't know. It seems pretty tame to me. You surely encounter a lot weirder stuff than my annoying interests.
Why not scrutinize them?
Well, to be clear, I'm not "scrutinizing" anyone. But it probably makes it more interesting than say, buying a Bentley, because there's a lot of secrecy. I mean, if a guy donates $1,000,000 to a charity or his local university, he might get publicly recognized. Might get his name on a building, on a plaque. But when something is shrouded in secrecy, and people go to great lengths to keep it that way, it adds more to the general interest.

This is just human nature... I didn't invent this. What was that tabloid's logo? "Inquiring minds want to know?" lol

It's not really a problem, and I didn't say it was. However, you said that you were "mildly interested", yet you've been asking similar questions about "whales" and their motivations for over a year now, which would lead one to believe that it's more than just a mild interest or a fleeting thought.

Why are you equating your interest in whales to people's niche fetishes? Is this your fetish? Do you get off to thinking about other men spending money on models and possibly having sex with them?

Because, if that isn't the case, I don't think the two are equatable. I think it's weird to pry into another person's private life, because I'm just not that type of person. Yes, a lot of models are easy-going and accepting. Want to know another quality a lot of sex workers have? Respect for people's personal boundaries. If these members wanted you to know about their lives and motivations, they'd talk openly about it. But if they don't, why not just accept that and move along?

However, if this is your fetish, maybe none of us want to cater to it for free.

But when something is shrouded in secrecy, and people go to great lengths to keep it that way, it adds more to the general interest.

Or, like I said, you could just respect their privacy and the fact that they want their lives to remain secret from randos on the internet.

You named a model and her top spender on here. Imagine how fucked up it would be if people were actually responding to you with speculation on the sex and personal lives of two people none of us know, and they were to see this. Honestly, if I was in their shoes, I'd be pissed.

a mild interest
Okay, let's call it a moderate interest.
Why are you equating your interest in whales to people's niche fetishes? Is this your fetish?
No, and I'm not equating it. I'm actually saying that being interested in various aspects of life, such as the differing motivations people have to donate very large amounts of money to cam models, is no different than wondering why some people step over homeless people and others help them, or why some people dislike cats, or any of a thousand other things. I just don't think a little curiosity about human behavior is so weird, or even uncommon.
I think it's weird to pry into another person's private life, because I'm just not that type of person.
Well, that is admirable. I'm not interested in anyone's individual situation, either. I'm just interested in behavior in general.

But many people are interested in other people, that's a fact. That's why there are tabloids, paparazzi, nosy neighbors, and interent rumor mills. And why nothing sells like juicy gossip. Don't blame the messenger.
But if they don't, why not just accept that and move along?
I'm not digging though anyone's trash. 😆 I just made a comment in jest that probably reflects what a large percentage of people might think (or at least wonder about) when they hear of such situations.
You named a model and her top spender on here.
It's not like I outed anybody. This is public information. Anyone can see who top models are and their top spenders. (Often from the cam sites themselves but if not, obviously from sites people have apparently taken the trouble to compile). I just pulled one example.
Imagine how fucked up it would be if people were actually responding to you with speculation on the sex and personal lives of two people none of us know, and they were to see this.
I agree totally. But the internet is not a nice place and in some forums, that wouldn't be all that unusual.

Na it is weird. You’ve been told many times, by many different people that we dislike it. Yet you persist; in our space. Not tame. Red flag.

ETA; you seem obsessed OP and it’s super icky gross. You make yourself look worse and worse every time you go off, then get defensive when called out. It’s nasty. Other people’s relationships is none of your pervy business 🤢 I won’t be responding to you further, you seem to thrive on the negative attention.

in our space
Seems you would prefer the space to be an echo chamber. It's fine with me. It's not my place to decide that.
Other people’s relationships is none of your pervy business
I don't know. :) People speculate all the time about others' relationships, and especially the more someone approaches the level of a public figure, like a high profile entertainer or a leading industrialist, it comes with the territory.
I won’t be responding to you further
Thank you. Good day to you.

its not accurate, according t o statbate i earned 4 $ this month and i was working 1 day :jawdrop: :bag::D. What is fun, its showing sometimes my best days i mean now is showing only June 20th when i earned very good from 1 man and on statbate is showing this one men + some other but only 50tk from this man:> so its very not accurate page

I'm guessing only public tips would ever get picked up.
and even then, it doesnt' count most of the tips, I checked in a room where I know I have tipped high amounts, I'm barely on there :p so it doesn't pick up most tips at all actually, even in public

Yes exactly xD it's missing days, days are wrong and most tips are missing :)

ETA; I would not count on any data from this site honestly.. sure you can see some tips here and there, but it's missing so much data (thankfully somewhat) that it's useless anyways :D

Iirc, the site used to have a section explaining that public tips are only tracked once a model reaches a certain number of viewers (I think it was either 50+ or 100+ viewers) during their show. So that might explain some of the inaccuracies.
