Hello!

I'm a camgirl on MFC. Been camming for a few years now.

Just out of curiosity to fellow cam girls out there---Anyone know the laws in Japan regarding camming?

Reason I'm asking is because I have intentions of going there for a few months, and of course, I'd like to cam at the same time to continue my income.
I know that there are some countries in Asia where porn is censored and closely monitored by government entities.

Does anyone know what the status on Web Cam Girls is in Japan?

I know pornography is legal, but there are restrictions (not sure how that applies to camming). I think as long as you don't do anything that isn't legal according to their laws it's fine.

Not saying you 100% should, but be smart about it if you're going to do it. Use a VPN. Make sure your money goes through your country. Don't let anyone see check stubs or bank statements. Have a cover for if anyone asks what you do for a living (especially in situations involving trying to find a place to stay)

But as far as laws regarding camming in Japan, I do not know.

You have to consider that in Japan, producing, publishing, and distributing obscene content is illegal. I believe (not up to date on this) that showing genitals and pubic hair counts as obscene.

I've checked around a few places, and from what I can see, camming itself isn't illegal; from what I can see, no genetalia should be shown, but topless should be ok? I'd stick with non-nude erotica to be safe.

I would suggest talking to someone who knows the fine details of Japanese Immigration law to be absolutely sure. It appears that it is legal to be a webcam girl in Japan, as there are several webcam sites there, however some Japanese laws are applied differently if you are not a Japanese national.
