Just curious in models perspective. In the software/website, what are Top Friends in comparison to regular friends?

I have moved my friends who are ALWAYS in my room when I am on cam to the Top Friends category.
I would guess from a practical standpoint, it's a way for models to easily keep track of members they actually consider online friends/high tipping, dependable regulars vs members who maybe tipped to get on their friends list but rarely (if ever) make an appearance.
Ok that makes sense. I'm really suppressed I haven't seen a model that models offered a tier 2 friends list options ... "5000 tokens to be my top friend" or something like that.
Members can't see what list they're on, so this wouldn't really matter unless a model has her settings so only Top Friends can send a PM.
Is Top Friends a recent addition or has it been around a long time? Never actually heard it mentioned before.
It came around the time that the "recent tippers" thing was dropped.

If the model doesn't assign a top friend then the highest tippers she's gotten will pop up at the top, or atleast I think that's how it works.
That's one of the confusion. Nobody knows what the multiple groupings of how users are displayed in members point of view are anymore. I thought it was top friends on top, but it does not appear so as members whom got added to top friends didn't go up...If the model doesn't assign a top friend then the highest tippers she's gotten will pop up at the top, or atleast I think that's how it works.
It's listed, at least for me, in this order in my room: Top Friends -> Models-> Friends -> Recent Tippers -> Premiums -> Basics

I wish I could screen shot the module notification page to simplify it for ya, but I reread it and it says that the most recent tipper will be at the top. And if no one has tipped in that session then the highest tippers in general for her will be at the top.

You have to manually make someone a top friend. If a girl doesn't add any top friends, that section of her friend list is empty. A girl's top friend/friend list is not visible to anyone but her, on her broadcaster or in any room she's in as a modelmember (logged in her model account on the homepage, watching other models).
