I came back from the loo and my room count jumped from 57 tp 255 like, immediately. Then it gradually dropped down to 60-70 range.
Whats going on? Bot tests?

DivaTraffic uses traffic from PPC networks, which means that it’s real people (not bots). There is nothing at all wrong with using PPC traffic to gain viewers for your room.
(In a speedy radio voice) Disclaimer: punker barbie does not guarantee that all PPC traffic will be real people and your results may vary greatly.

We would fully investigate any accusation that someone was attempting to boost their room rank with bot traffic. It’s fairly easy on the back end to see if that’s really the case when looking at a specific account at a particular period of time. The best defense to someone falsely accusing you would be to bring any fishy traffic patterns to our attention by emailing support@chaturbate.com when you see them. Let us know the time, date, and room name, and we can take a look to see what’s really going on.

Ok I had another weird jump in viewership so I reported it to support. Their response?

"Please clarify your question"

You guys really need to get on the same page. I don't know how to respond so I'm not going to but this is pants on head crazy.

Sorry about the response you received. Please check your DM's for my message.

I think the issue with 'the best defense to false accusations = you report fishy traffic patterns to us instead' is that this is just impossible to monitor for models who have a large viewership as it is & who are used to having large jumps in their viewership over time.

For me (as a very small model) it's an entirely different story.. I keep incoming & outcoming acocunts on within my chat, so I immediately notice a jump in viewership even before it registers in the viewercount because I see a stream of blue accounts come into my room (which is very unnatural for my room count to happen all of a sudden). But someone on page 1 will never be able to see this/keep track of this at all, so that will never be a way that they can defend themselves (nor can you ever really proof if you are the one who's sending bots, or someone else is and reporting you etc. so CB won't ever be able to make that distinction either, which is a problem) A better solution (if possible) would be to completely eliminate the effect of bots, and therefore nobody could benefit from them.

There's definitely something weird going on the past few weeks, and I highly doubt it's 'actual' traffic. It seems like someone is just randomly testing out bot nets on random (small models) or something, because I do not have a better explanation, and I've seen quite some people mention it. The reason why I doubt it's actual traffic is that it behaves as a program : the bots come in all at the same time, and then within a minute or so slowly go away again until I'm left with what I started with. I don't think actual traffic would behave in such a way.

I will try to register when it happens in my room & sent it to support, but it's impossible to catch all the occurrences, since I'm not always able to stop what I'm doing and record the time etc. on top of current goals/happenings etc. On top of this, the bots are usually gone within a very short time span as well, so it's very easy to miss a small surge too.

@punker barbie should I email support every single time this happens (which seems to be nearly every show), or should I collect data over a period of time and send this in bulk?

They work on this every day.

I don't know what the purpose is anymore I feel like it's been going on too long for a test. I'm starting to wonder if someone is just doing it to be nice and give all models a brief boost?

Please feel free to write into the support line whenever you like to report any suspicious behavior. They can evaluate your account in real time or review any information you provide if you decide to compile and send the information out at a later time.
