Yeah I always knew that they stink to high heaven but I never knew how much until I looked it up on Wikipedia:

Some people get obsessed with that kind of stuff. I know that around where I'm from, eagle/hawk nest cams are popular. I've heard stories of people setting up spare monitors in cubicles to run a live stream of the birds all day. If I recall correctly, a few years ago during a bird cam craze, a teacher friend of mine told me about how their district's IT department had to block one or more of the streams to conserve bandwidth.
