I collect comics.
Sure you may not think that's a vice. But last night I was up at 3am, sorting comics, pricing them out and cataloging them. Sitting there, nose bleeding, barely able to see, jittery as hell. Sure I was snorting coke too, but the 80s taught us that was pretty harmless.

No, I wish I could have a hobby as cheap as cocaine. Nope, I'm blowing about $300 on comics this week alone to build my collection of Gold Key and fill in with some random stuff.

I kicked that one about 15 years ago thank god...I still have about 6 boxes of mylar bagged xmen, xfactor, wolverine etc etc, and a few old t-shirts but came out of it otherwise unscathed.

80's and 90's shit is shit. Older than that, let's talk. If not, did you say X Factor? Wolverine 4 part limited series?

I buy super extra dark chocolate bars (70-90% solids) of various brands and from different places I find online.

I buy that shit like people buy different types of fine wine and cigars.

That's my only vice. I can't afford another. Good quality chocolate is really expensive sometimes.

but its so fucking good.

(does this confession bring my manhood into question?)

That may be one of about three major vices for me too, Paulie. I find it hard to beat this rather simple selection:

Much cheaper than imported chocolate and to me, better. :)

I do wish they'd use dark chocolate in Almond Joy.

That shit's way too sweet. :hand:

Plenty of domestic to go around. Amazon has a ton.

Anything below 60% makes me gag. I hate sweet chocolate.
:snooty:

. After that I've hopefully get up on reading "American Psycho"

LOL I remember years ago that book got passed around the house I was living. We all realized it was probably affecting us when one day three of us were smoking, one went to answer the door, and when he didn't come back for ages my friend suggested some murderer was probably fucking his dead, half-ripped off jaw...there was an awkward silence.

nah I have mostly 80s and 90s stuff, a few late 70s x-men but none of the particularly desirable ones. I have I think maybe about 190 - 350 or something of uncanny. Yeah I've got like the first 50 X Factor at least, new mutants, x force, some wolverine but not the limited series. A bunch of the x-men/x-force annuals...aside from x stuff I just have a few things like the first few issues of spawn, umm I think I have a deadpool limited series, and then various other things from the stupid yearly tie-ins lol...

Since we are getting more specific in this thread now... my salty vices are microwave pop secret extra butter popcorn, nacho cheese on any tortilla chips, french fries (with ranch if it's restaurant ranch, don't give me that hidden valley crap) and chicken dinos in louisiana hot sauce. :D

My most recent embarrassing salty habit? Eating a little handful of French's french fried onions right out of the can. Salt and grease heaven.

Fuck can you tell I didn't eat dinner tonight? Starved...

Ha, actually, to me, even though it's CALLED "sweet" it's not as sweet as most candy...plus the bitterness of the dark chocolate tends to cut any sugar a bit. But Baker's semi-sweet is one of my favorites too.

If i go grocery shopping in that state i come back with the car full of shit and only the minimum amount of salad and vegetables - instead steaks, chips and beer and freezer pizza...

thats why you should never shop on an empty stomach, makes people spend more money on junk food and ready to eat stuff.
also, on the subject of american pyscho, i wasn't that impressed by the book. found it very disjointed, but i guess that is kind of the point

just a suggestion, if you ever find A Chili's restaurant, try the Texas Cheese fries, that is my new meal of choice when I go there.

I saw X Factor 1-132 with annuals 5-8 go for $65 on eBay. At 1-50 with some other X titles you might be able to get a similar figure out of it, especially if you have runs and not just random issues.
Issues #201 and 210-213 or Uncanny are key issues. We're talking $10-30 each in great condition.

Yeah exactly, Bateman is telling the story and he's completely disjointed, masking his lack of a personality with his obession with fashion, consumerism and etiquette. I read it a good 15 years ago, I should read it again just wish I had the time.

I guess reading is a vice of mine too - I have overflowing bookshelves, stacks of books in the closet, and 800+ books on my kindle.

Yeah Keithy, I have the mutant massacre ones probably near mint. I think I'm just gonna continue storing them here - make sure they're looked after and see what they're worth in 20 years. Last time I checked, which was a few years ago now, most of them were maybe $3-5 each and here and there would be a sought-after issue for like $20-50. Course, that's what COMIC shops sell em for, doesn't mean I'd even get that...

But yeah anyway, they're safe and not doing anything so I may as well just let them sit there as an "investment".

What? Saying things like that isn't normal? *calls brother to affirm how freakin weird we are*

Oh, and I didn't know anyone used Baker's for something other than baking... I'm intrigued... I must admit that I am fond of the fancy candies... then again I also have a thing for pixie sticks.

Yes, "Baker's" isn't about function, it's the name of the company. Founded by someone with the last name Baker. and then Baker's bought another company, "German's," but retained the name for that line of chocolate.

I'm boring but at least I don't shove it down peoples throats to live the way I do.

I don't smoke, i don't do drugs, I don't drink coffee, I rarely drink alcohol. I used to have an incredible sweet tooth for candy and mountain dew but I have cut back dramatically on both to the point of when I drink a mountain dew now I'm confused why I was addicted in the first place.

I think my ultimate vice is awesome tshirts. If I find a shirt I deem to be awesome I buy it before I realize that my credit card is out of my wallet.

Yeah I don't drink either, and have a sweet tooth.

As for t-shirts...have you ever thought about trying screenprinting? It's not that hard and you can print whatever you want - only limit is your imagination (or what you can steal off the internet lol).
Set-up doesn't cost that much, plain t-shirts you can pick up for $5, my aunt recently did one with all 19th century medical implements on it - forceps, bonesaws, etc...people are constantly asking where they can get one.

I've made my own band t-shirts from LP liners and album covers and stuff, and more than one band I've met have been awed and approached me to ask where I got it. A member of the cult band Slint even offered to buy my shirt lol.

I have a t-shirt addiction too... especially geeky ones! I still need a "you never forget your first doctor" shirt.

My favorite that I have right now is the Arc of Electromagnetic Radiation Connection shirt.

My favorite tshirt used to be my Clash tshirt I got as a birthday gift back when I was 17. I wore it once a week for the next 8 years until it basically started to fall apart in the washing machine. Now I keep it in a safe place until I find a girl worthy enough for me to tell her "I love you as much as I love this shirt."

Wore this shirt Friday . People stopped me mid-stride to make sure it wasn't true, I enjoyed the attention and the reaction

I like that. My shirt like that is a tiedye shirt my Mom brought me from Jamaica. I still brave weaving it as a night shirt sometimes but I feel the time is coming soon when it will need to be retired. I can't wear it out and about as there is a lovely hole right over my cleavage, hahaha.

About T-shirts... crap, I love my The Clash T-shirt since I bought it. Even though it's too big for me.
About vices: cigarettes, joints, alcohol, sweet food, reading, music... hmm... yeah, masturbation, and I guess that's it. But I still have time. Give me a couple years and I'll come up with some new vices for sure. That's the best part of bad company...

Thankfully I am the personification of XL so I never have to worry much about tshirts not fitting me.

Music is also a huge vice of mine as well. I love finding new bands, and its a requirement that I have music playing every time I'm doing something. It just isn't the same without. and I do think people have made a mistake of having me show them songs I think they'd enjoy- I can be pretty spot on but once I get positive reinforcement I may not stop and keep sending them song after song.

Masturbation or porn can be a vice also, but i've had the willpower not to whip my dick out mid-flight or whilst out in public and jerk off so it hasn't been THAT much of a vice yet.

Have a George Carlin tshirt that says "Simon Says...Go Fuck Yourself" On the back, and after I took my last final I went to work and completely forgot I still had that shirt on- THAT WAS FUN.
