Too Many Zombie Movies?

It was most definitely street pharmaceuticals, A.K.A. Bath Salts concocted in somebody's half-assed home lab. What I'm curious about is if the thought process of eating someone's face off would have even occurred to him in the first place without the popularity of zombies in the mainstream media.

Maybe there is a crazy scientist out there perfecting a drug that turns people into flesh eating zombies.

whatever it is, it is rather bizarre, I am hoping this is not going to be a new trend...
I remember hearing something a while back about how biting people like a vampire was becoming a concern as there were many police reports/calls regarding this... it was around the time when all this vampire glorification was really popular...

I think it is interesting that there has been a fascination with death and mortality in the media with all this vampire shit and now zombies... so and so on..... or am i reading too much in to this?

something definitely made him (and all these other cannibals recently) delusional. there have been a lot of drug poisoning cases recently on the east coast, involving rat poison and sugar pills. i know some meth heads that would do some pretty fucked up stuff after a week or so. there could also be mental defect. have you seen what we put in our tap water, on purpose!? what about things that get in accidentally? something could be degrading the human race. seems that way. it has always been part of human nature to eat brains (cow, monkey, crawfish to name a few) and drink blood (or at least have some black pudding).
i'm not sure that the decades old zombie/vampire fads have inadvertently caused the rise in cannibalism. nothing i've read has indicated any of the living attackers had these thought processes. the woman who ate her baby's brains and toes was saving it from Satan. i'm pretty sure the kid from Maryland was a wack job, and the dude from Tokyo and the people who ate his junk aren't far behind. maybe we're seeing these things being reported more often now that zombie/vampire gore has been very mainstream for a few decades.
i find the face/brain munching aspect interesting seeing as hallucinations really do strange things to specifically to faces, normally very unappealing things.

Fugitive 'cannibal' porn star arrested in Berlin

The arrest brought to an end an international trawl spanning thousands of miles and hundreds of police officers across two continents.

Magnotta, branded the 'Canadian Psycho', is wanted for the gruesome videotaped murder and dismemberment of a student in Montreal.

Police suspect Magnotta filmed the murder after a video was posted online showing a man stabbing another man with an ice pick while the victim lies naked and tied up.

The first man later reveals he has slashed the other man's throat and goes on to dismember the corpse and perform sexual acts with it.

Texas man accused of eating dog while high on synthetic marijuana
Published June 26, 2012

WACO, Texas – A Texas man is facing animal cruelty charges after police said he ate a dog while high on synthetic marijuana.

Michael Terron Daniel, 22, was arrested Monday for the June 14 incident, KWTX-TV reported.

Police investigated after receiving a report of a man "going crazy" at a Waco home.

When they arrived, Daniel told officers he was on a "bad trip" from the synthetic marijuana, known as K-2. He had apparently assaulted several people at the home.

He dropped to all fours and chased a neighbor "while barking and growling like a dog," Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Daniel then grabbed a dog, beat and fatally strangled it and "began to bite into the dog, ripping pieces of flesh away," according to Swanton.

Officers contacted paramedics because Daniel was incoherent. While waiting for them to arrive, Daniel reportedly asked police to fight him or use a stun gun on him to help end his bad trip, Swanton said. The officers declined.
Daniel was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He was arrested Monday at his workplace, charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal and booked into McLennan County Jail.

Like the designer drugs sold as "bath salts," synthetic marijuana -- also sold under the name "spice" -- has been known to make some users aggressive and behave in a bizarre manner.

Over the weekend, 23-year-old Matthew See was arrested in Costa Mesa, Calif., after he allegedly smoked spice and then broke into an elderly couple's apartment and assaulted them while speaking gibberish

Man, that Spice is some crazy shit. I'm surprised it's still legal. We smoked a bunch of it a few years back and while most of didn't feel much - not even much in the way of a mild high - one one my friends just completely whigged out. Started jumping up and down like a monkey asking if he was gonna die. Scary shit, man.
