Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
... or so claims the latest study. It's the clitoris that holds the key to female pleasure.

For years, women have often declared they can either orgasm through sex or foreplay.

But new research suggests we may all have been wrong.

For there is no such thing as a vaginal orgasm, a clitoral orgasm or even a G-spot, new research claims.

The size and distance of the clitoris from the vagina is paramount as to whether a woman can achieve orgasm, according to U.S. researchers who scanned the pelvic areas of 30 women as part of another study

What say you?

Sounds like it's purely an issue of semantics.

All I know is that when I orgasm from clit stimulation alone, it feels VASTLY different from a penetration-induced orgasm. I don't care what they call it, it won't change what happens to my body.

It says the "majority of women". I've been with woman who can orgasm from just penetration alone (its amazing and I am so jealous) but I am one that falls into the category of needing to have clitoral stimulation to be able to reach climax. Every woman is different and has their own ways of orgasming.
Also orgasm is a brilliant word. Just saying it makes me happy. :-D

A study on 30 women isn't going to convince me of much to be honest. Have you SEEN the infinite variety of ladybits out there? And this totally doesn't account for orgasms from anal stimulation alone, at least not that I can see. It's totally a thing.

Stop suggesting that you know what your own body is doing. Only scientists know these things, and get paid to find out. In recent news, two male scientists in the UK declared that after close investigation of 3,500 vaginas, that there was no such thing as a g-spot. They are now seeking funding for further research.

How it works for me

Clit stimulation: I can come, but meh
Cock penetration: I can't cum like this.
Clit stimulation+cock in me: Toe curling amazing orgasm

So it looks like I fit in that 'most women' category.

But it doesn't matter if penetration isn't needed for me to climax, I definitely prefer it.

What say me? I say BULLSHIT! Either I'm the most pissed on guy that ever walked the earth or I've delivered some rocking' vaginal orgasms.

Thank goodness scientists are here to tell me those weren't real orgasms. Now I'm just wondering what those were? I mean, they felt rad but should I be concerned about this new unknown and mysterious thing that happens?

The fact that this study is still even being done is just mind boggling to me.

Considering the Clitoris extends inside the body on three sides of the Vaginal Wall, I don't see much to this study. How the internal muscles, and any added stimulation internally apply pressure to the erectile tissue of the Clitoris obviously creates some subtle and wonderful types of orgasm for women.

I would label a vaginal orgasm as when the contractions during orgasm hold onto the toy/ Penis / fingers giving that internal stimulation. There is also the more specific contractions at the top of the Vagina/ Cervix that would definitely count as a vaginal orgasm. That the contractions indirectly stimulate the Clitoris giving the pleasure sensation is neither here nor there, that the pleasure comes from the transfer means that muscles (their size too), the right stimulation, and the Clitoris all play their part.

I happen to be one of those lucky ladies who can orgasm from just about any kind of stimulation that's happening. Clitoral? Check. Vaginal? Check. Anal? Check. Any combination of these? Check. Replaying the last time I had sex and cumming without being touched? Check.

I mean lies. All lies. Because, you know, this is a considerable sample of the female population and tells us everything we need to know about orgasms. Anything we knew before is false. Clearly, I have no idea how my own works, and has worked for years.

I've never been able to orgasm through penetration alone, until recently I decided to actually try it on my own. Usually I go straight to the clit in my alone time, I know it works and it feels awesome. Anyway so I grabbed a toy out of my box, it was one curved upwards, a g-spot one. I stuck on some porn, got myself really horny as I played with this toy, and I orgasmed very quickly! It was very different from clit stim orgasms but also similar, it was pretty awesome really and most definitely an orgasm. I had absolutely nothing on my clit so it was absolutely internal. Like Ambers Troll pointed out the clit extends further than it visibly appears so I'm guessing yeah, it was a version of a clit orgasm, but then isn't that exactly what the g-spot is? Just a name for where the clit extends?

Oh wait yeah you reminded me. I CAN have amazing orgasms on penetration alone. With this toy. I saw it on amazon before but can't find it there right now... ???

Also, using the handle end of this toy gave me my one and only anal orgasm I've ever had. I had a vaginal orgasm, complete with pulsing and throbbing, despite only touching my butt at the time. Explain that, science. This is seriously the best toy ever. 10/10 lol.

The Daily Mail is just trolling the dregs of the internet with clickbait.

Like LilyEvans said, it's a semantic argument. The researcher is essentially claiming that the orgasm isn't coming from the vagina as it's defined anatomically. It's coming from the clitoral/clitoralurethrovaginal complex (or some other equally unsexy term), so there's no clitoral orgasm vs. vaginal orgasm distinction. So he's not claiming that women can't orgasm from penetration. He's saying that when women orgasm from penetration, it isn't technically from the vagina, so we shouldn't use the term 'vaginal orgasm.'

But whatever... it's a little awkward to say, "I just had an orgasm that felt like it was coming from my vagina but was actually coming from a totally separate system that surrounds my vagina."

Here's what Puppo said:

From here.

(He has an irritating way of referring to that clitoral complex as "the female penis." The guy's got weird priorities when it comes to terminology.)

Well you can't tell boys the truth, that the scrotum is just a vagina that has turned inside out, testicles are just re-purposed ovaries and that the penis is just a clitoris on an inflatable meat stick. They might stop sending girls pictures of their dongs from the shame.

I'm one of those weird people who go through orgasm phases. I started off only being able to get off through penetration, then moved onto only clitoral (and yes they feel distinctly different) and now I'm in the blissful both phase.

They can say what they want, it don't matter to me. :romance-cloud9:

i've experienced both clitoral orgasms and vaginal... when i give myself an orgasm, i can't do it vaginally whether i use toys or not but when i'm with someone who knows what they're doing, it happens. & boy is it a ma zing!

Those orgasms are fucking incredible.

Oh, and did I mention that I can squirt with only anal stimulation if I do it right? Mmmmm so good.

 I sense that my expertise is needed here. As mentioned by other posters there was a study done. There was also a PBS TV special hosted by Maggie Gylanhaal (sp) that showed in detail how the left and right roots of the clitoris are pulled on when engaged in intercourse hence they concluded that even vaginal orgasms were in fact clitoral. That said....Some women claim that they can come from G spot stim. Scientifics studies say that this spot does not exist. In my field research I have failed to find it but perhaps my sample size was not adequate. The most obvious penetration/clitoral orgasms seem to be female on top rubbing clit against male pubic bone. Anal orgasms? Not my thing however the nerves that supply that area interplex with the nerves that supply the genitals. I tend to agree with the studies but experienced female opinions cannot be discounted. Further study is needed.

So, that, seems, to be true..
Once watched this - Hysterical Literature sessions filmed by Clayton Cubitt.http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVna2B64pQwolR2Y09aqHuIEwWh0RVuLq
Was told, that there used simply a toy with vibe to be incide while reading...
He-he, I was so curiouse to repeat.. but... 10-15-20 min .. more.. nothing amazing could not happened with me..
Untill try to help with my finger on my "button".. only than something really great came)))
But the muscle contraction I felt inside.. so that is "vaginal" orgasm, who came from clit stimulation..
So, as I understand, femail clit = male penis by feelings, but not ours vagina..
And, as for me, I never understand how/what is the other kinds of orgasm.. not becoming horny or simply pleasure.. exactly orgasm

Cumming without being touched proves there's at least a part of orgasms that are
mental! That's fun to think about. Maybe with practice and training we can become more like SaffronBurke
