Talking About Sexual/Erotic Fetishism

Reading threads I've came across Fetishism, and even discovered few I didn't know existed, like the Small Cock Humiliation. Which makes me wonder about a couple of things, what is the plural of the word "fetish"? AND what are the ones you know and/or have heard of?

How do I know I have a fetishism? Definition says that it is a situation and/or an object that arouses. Like WHAT? Okay I know of the feet, the slapping, the role playing. Is role playing a fetishism in the first place? What do you think?

I think there's pretty much a fetish for everything
Feet and humiliation are probably two of the more common ones.
There's been threads on this forum about bubblegum fetishes and cheese fetishes.
On MFC I've seen guys tip to see hands, elbows, to watch the girl spit, to put an egg in her butt and then squeeze it out again. Nothing really surprises me any more
I think the only one that did surprise me was the rape fetish. I never would have guessed that anyone would be turned on by something like that. (and that's not to suggest that there's anything 'wrong' with it - so long as it's just role playing between two consenting adults - it just surprised me)

I think here the way to use 'fetish' in a sentence is, "How do I know I have a fetish?" "Is role playing a fetish?"

The plural of fetish is fetishes.

I wouldn't say roleplaying in and of itself is a fetish, although I'm sure for many people it is; the roles are what are fetishized.

You know you have a fetish when you become sexually aroused or obsessed with something that is not strictly human-to-human sexual intercourse. Sadomasochism and bondage are two of my fetishes.

Some people become aroused by stuffed animals, cars, robots, black people, white people, asians, large breasts, small breasts, tattoos, piercings, hair color, body type and even fashions (steampunk can be a fetish for some people) are all fetishes.

I expect a large number of people have many more fetishes than they imagine. But for them, their sexual attraction is "normal" and they don't realize it (which in itself is true; some fetishes are so common as to be ubiquitous).

Even when it comes to human-to-human intercourse, you can still find fetishes. Some people may have a fetish for certain sized or shaped genitalia on their partners. Others may have a fetish for a sexual position, or sexual power or control.

The rape play fetish is so common I believe because it involves so many other fetishes - control, humiliation, forced release, dominance, submission, and at times bondage and sadomasochism. Being forced in to sex is a common fantasy for many people. I can say that I still enjoy rape play even after I was legitimately raped, although it takes longer for me to equalize afterwords. It is an incredible bonding experience in my relationship.

Essentially... anything that excites you that isn't a generic penis/vagina rubbing on a generic penis/vagina will be considered a fetish by some.

I guess I'd never thought about rape fantasies in terms of dominance/submission, but they start to make a lot more sense (to me) when viewed as a submissive person ceding power to a dominant figure. And like you say, it incorporates so many other things that permeate the relationship between a dominant and a submissive.

Forced sex is my favorite kind of play, for all of those reasons. my main "fetish" is feeling used (by someone/multiple people who i know respect me otherwise and understand it's "play," of course).

I've always thought of the attraction to be a bit similar to paintballing. A lot of people have natural aggression, but instead of shooting someone in the face and going to jail forever, they shoot them with paintballs at the range and everyone has a good time. Sexual aggression may be much the same, with people desiring intense events to induce release.

I recall in the book Brave New World, where the people are all drugged up all the time and everything is perfect, there's like a machine or something people pop in to every now and then that gives them the sensation of being both predator and prey (it's been a few years, so I don't recall the specifics, but basically people were diagnosed by doctors as needing a good flood of adrenaline and fear). I think rape play provides the same idea; humankind is an aggressive species, and experiencing a struggle with potentially serious implications (irl) is very satisfying for a lot of people.

Doesn't matter who the author is, redundant threads in different forums just mess up the forum and makes it harder for the next person who searches for a topic. Took me a whole 3 seconds to find it without the search engine because it was on the first page in the proper forum. Not a big deal, just helps keep the forum better organized avoiding redundancies.
