I thought it could be a potentially good thing if we all gave our suggestions for improvement for Chaturbate to make the place better.
Over the time I have been there, I have made multiple but emailing suggestions seems pointless. I know this probably will be too but at least then we can also see what others come up with and if we agree, disagree and can improve even further on THAT idea too.

Here are a few of mine:
1) Have a 2 different types of Moderators: 1 would be as it is now and can just silence people, but then have another with a few more abilities. One of the other abilities could be to kick/ban for the model and then a few more things (not sure what?) Of course this 2 Elite Mod would be someone the model absolutely 100% trusts.
(I understand some people don't like mods to begin with, but lets keep this as suggestions not a way to debate or derail.)
2) I posted this one recently in the CB Discussion: Allow models to disable the option for PREMIUM, Mods and Fan Club members from initiating a Private Message. Have multiple options so specific groups can't do it, or have a global one to turn it off completely.

My brain has gone very dead, I can't remember any other's that I have thought of and sent previously,
What would you like to see implemented? Try not to make this all about better connection issues either.

This would be too many notifications I think.
Just think of all those models who rely on private shows, they are in and out of them all day for 8hrs or some times more.

First, it is just an option. If you do not want to receive those notifications then do not use the option.

You can just leave the sound on for the model's tab, leave the tab open whilst you go off and do whatever else then when they return, you will know because you will hear sound from your other tab.

That works if I am on the computer, and it does not work if I am off doing other things.

If they have many viewers in public, an easier solution of this issue could be to do private more in the end of their online time. Many models do so. E.g. if a model plans to stay online for 6 hours, in the first 3-4 hours she does public. If someone asks for private, she tells, private will be open later. Last 2-3 hours pvt. Fixed times (and also fixed conditions), generally, seem to be a successful concept. So the followers know your times. Or, if you have different online times, write them in your profile, whiteboard or whatever. Man is a creature of habit.

The problem is many studio models live in a system where they do not control the business model or rules. Some studio models are told they must do privates for six or 12 tokens per minute, and predictably they are constantly leaving their public show to do privates. I remember one model who got fired for trying to create a token menu, because the studio insisted that was a waste of time and models needed to be spending all of their time in privates.

I think its a cool idea but i think you would have a much better chance of convincing CB of it if you settle for browser notifications, they definitely don't want to increase the emails they send out.

But then the problem is I get notifications every 10 minutes when some model I do not care about comes online. If browser notifications could be made extremely granular then this might work.

Even though this is close to "translating", I would like to see Closed Captioning when a model is speaking. I can't always have sound on, and there are times when I don't want to use earbuds to listen. This makes me think of hearing impaired members who can't hear at all; I'm sure they are out there and Closed Captioning would be a blessing for them.

I see. That's surprising because it's not business-minded by these studios. If they don't give a model room to develop her public show, she will stay unknown, has few followers and does her private shows for few token/minute. That's kind of weird, because after all studios want to earn money with the model. One more good reason for models to quit studios.

You see them in many places on the lower pages on CB. The exact same tip menu and lush levels/duration, very similar formulaic bios and 6 or 12 token/minute privates. Some of them have "all the moves" and the looks I would not be surprised to see on page 1. I guess it's the same old story, which also holds true in the vanilla world: the boss' wallet is more important than actually building a successful business.

I just stumbled into something CB could easily add to its mobile version ...

The desktop CB site has a footer with a lot of links to view rooms by categories like status (such as new cams), age, region, private show price and so on. Until today, I just assumed those filtered searches were only available in desktop format. I’d been switching to the desktop site on my phone when I wanted to use them. Today, somehow I stumbled into finding out that those pages all exist in mobile web format, but the links haven’t been made available in the mobile web navigation.

Seems like a 5-minute fix that could increase traffic and also help members find what they like faster.

I always switch to desktop view on my mobile

Ugh I agree with a lot of these, I really like the set up on Cam Soda more than Chaturbate. I use mainly CB because the site gets way more traffic, but I think once I get more of a following, I'll transition to half on CS and half on CB. I think cam soda is really creative, they seem to always be coming up with new ideas, and the audience members/ models look to be having a lot more fun and can engage more easily. Even the presentation of the site is cleaner, newer feeling, and super cute. Chaturbate seriously should get a site renovation, it feels more like a 2008 cheap porn site than the leading webcam model website. I don't know, I'm a bit worried that the site isn't going to age well if they don't start listening to the users, since they don't seem to even provide some basic safety measure for new models etc. Sorry for the rant, as you can tell I'm a little frustrated haha

....camsoda is basically the same interface with just a few changes here and there, there is nothing impressive about camsoda from a viewers perspective, I can't speak on the models side as I havent done much support for camsoda broadcasters. I have been told by some studios that camsoda actually made them take pictures of the studio rooms to send them like an application process, as if its some great honor to broadcast on camsoda :giggle:.

I actually like the mobile version of CB, for the most part. Which is why it’s annoying to have to go back to desktop (or find a workaround on my own) when I want to view my own profile, my followers list, or to view the filtered categories I mentioned.

Aside from how bulky the desktop page is when you’re viewing it on a smaller device, it’s just more ... sleazy, I guess. Using the mobile version, I got used to not having to look at the ads, which are often really off-putting for me. I dunno.

I know a lot of models have been crying out for an offline messaging system.

Plus I do know CB used to have one, but how about an official forum as this would also sort the offline messaging system ;). And also be a place where the coders and support could keep an handle on issues or bug reports.

How about searching for a model via location... AFF site has a way of sorting profiles into countries & states etc.

A report button on ALL profiles even when the person is offline.

Maybe a page where you can see all the emojis you have uploaded and the ability to request for them to be deleted, reason I say to request emojis to be deleted is that.. support would be the ones to delete them as this would allow support to see if someone has uploaded an abusive emoji or fake tip emoji and a user trying to hide their tracks by trying to delete it.

Edit...

Before I forget... a tip notification and other features like Twitch has via Streamlabs for OBS.
i cant understand why someone would like to have offline message sistem, no thanks! more work for the model for nothing when is good this way, guys just have to wait till his favorite model go online and he can see ,talk and tip her . if there are offline me ssages they start dramas, i love you , u didnt answer my mail , i wanna meet you, i thought im special bla and so on , and there is not 1 guy a girl need to deal with his ego there r hundred . I can see this on stripchat or mfc, guys are pissed off for not adding them to friends list and then to stay in my free time to chat to them or to mail them becouse they know they are having this option and they wanna sit on the model head ,, i just wanna go online, do my show take the money and go, plese chaturbate dont get them used to have acces to the models offline , no dramas needed .

Save for the "i wanna meet you" thing, I can tell you this happens in the other direction as well on StripChat. If you go to the "wrong" room, spend a bit and then decide to move on, some models will never get off your back. You will have "hru bb" in your inbox forever, every time you come online. It's like they think you have an obligation towards them after spending 1000 tks one evening ...

So to a certain extent I agree: offline messaging can be bothersome unless there is some mechanism to stop the messages without you having to block/ban them completely.

I would like to see a lot more statistics on earnings. The more, the better.
Ranking users, names, times, how many tokens, followers, how many followers gained that day with graph, how many tokens, how many hours online and so on.. would be really useful for me to understand my statistics.

CB said they are expanding their search functions soon. I want to be able to sort rooms better eg. couples: male/male, male/female, female/female, trans/trans (even if that means they request we update our account details to be more specific). Also filter by age ranges would be nice. Instead we have to scroll through several pages of cams we don't want to find what we want. They could take a lot of inspiration from dating websites.

Secondly, they need to upgrade their servers. Too many streaming issues lately.

They already updated it. It's been live for a few days (they are always slow as hell to release their Twitter Updates).
I wish you can search more specifically, such as how you suggested: by gender; age; with tags; and multiple (A 30-50 FEMALE who uses the tag "striptease") for example.

I would really love to see offline profiles too, this can be achieved with just a tickbox we can select in the "options" to include offline profiles, or maybe "search offline profiles only" would be great.

Raiding
When a model goes off line for the night, they can send everyone in their room over to another models room.

I like the idea of this but I also don't at the same time.
I mean, I don't really want to be automatically redirected to a room I am unsure of, or heck, maybe I do not want. Plus, what if you're banned from this room (for any reason) and you're just going to be hit with the banned message which would be annoying. In theory, it sounds nice, but I think many would be like myself and not want to be sent to a random room. If I want that, I would use the random option. If the model could let you, the room, "vote" (in chat) which room to redirect to, or she always redirects you, then maybe I can be on board, but otherwise it's not something I'd personally want happening.

EXACTELY i am so PRO THIS ! Especially because many do not understand that we do have a private life too , we are human , we need to sleep , eat and do our stuffs, no matter how our relashionship status is ! Damm i hope they will never ever introduce the offline messages.

Damm i hope they will never ever introduce the offline messages.
If they do, I hope they will implement it in a better way that e.g. StripChat currently has done, and put in place much more granular controls on who can send to who ... and when!
I mean, if I am annoyed by the volume of unsolicited spam PMs from models, I can only imagine how life is for models.

Something like this, for both models and users (where appropriate):
  • The ability to opt out of offline messaging completely (with the possible exception for fanclub members, mods etc. etc.)
  • A site controlled but model adjustable way to charge token payments for offline messaging privileges (like pvts)
  • A way to permanently block specific users and/or models from sending you offline messages but still be allowed into the room
  • A way for models to end conversations so users will have to pay again (unless they are blocked)
  • A notification system with a "quiet mode"
Plus probably other things I haven't thought about.

Bitcoin payouts
https://support.chaturbate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038181692-Getting-Paid

"We currently offer eight convenient payment methods: Paxum, CosmoPayment, ePayService, Skrill, Bitcoin, Check by mail, Wire Transfer, or Direct Deposit (USA only)."

From a coder's perspective...

I would like to see :emoticons added to the Test Bed and a better way to index/search them for bot inclusion, and also for general testing. Collecting over 500 'thank you' :emoticons for a 'rotating banner' feature I added to Tip Menu 50 was not fun!

The cb.getRoomOwnerData & cb.getRoomUserData methods require an actively broadcasting cam to test. These are the only two methods in the CB API that were added with this limitation, and ironically the latest addition to the API. Many coders I talk with daily suffer from older computer setups and simply can't stream for 20 hours while writing/testing code. These two methods should work like everything else in the API with full Test Bed support!! If you are a broadcaster, you want coders using these because they offer a great deal of options, like being able to hide your tip menu when you are in private, generate stats about your privates (time, frequency, total, etc), advertise special messages to users while you are in private, and remove much of the overhead for sending private notices only to token holding users. *Think* --- a cleaner chat with more efficient advertising!

The cb.onUnFollow method (used for messages like 'User01 has un-followed you') only functions on the Public server. Again, this needs Test Bed support!

2 more Bot slots.

From a broadcaster's perspective...

The ability to add custom thumbnails to bio media (vids/pics) without requiring a fancy workaround (IE: 1 carefully placed frame in a vid or 1 pic in the set just for advertisement).

A point-and-click bio design feature. Something really basic with 5 or 10 templates would take the better part of 2-3 days to code. Users could then add some images, some text, and have a pretty bio with minimal effort!

General perspective...

I wish PMs persisted across sessions. Often I am helping a client and will click a link, completely forgetting links in PMs open in the same browser window/tab. When this happens, I'll lose everything that was said. PMs should store for each user's session until the broadcaster goes offline, regardless of where you navigate or if you lose connectivity. The PM/virtual mail system (with archiving) MFC has is a great example of how this could benefit users in general.

Cheers,
cexmental

When you ignore a user, I want it so THEY also can not see MY messages.
Right now, they know if/when you have ignored them because obviously they can see your messages and you're not replying to them.

Not sure why it's how it currently is, where they still see my messages. "ignoring" someone is the same as blocking them, so in any other system that I can think of, when you block someone from something, they are blocked both ways (sending (you seeing) and receiving (them seeing yours)

Three more suggestions from a coders perspective...

Promotion for coders and trending bots the same way CB promotes broadcasters on its social media. We work just as hard and it is extremely difficult to self-promote when your bot is almost instantly lost among the sea of clones and *borrowed code* that make up most of the apps and bots on CB. The occasional shoutout "hey this is trending", or "here are 4 top earning tip menus", etc.

Better App/Bot indexing. Place original bots at the top of the list and 'clone/model specific' version below via expandable lists. It's confusing if that bot you see is the one you want because indexing depends on the bots title and what is typed on the description page. Otherwise it comes down to a popularity contest that determines top of the page placement. The entire app/bot garden is a virtual mess and needs a clean-up.

Keep the HTML panel below the video window pinned on mobile. Currently it floats, which can limit its functionality and effectiveness to convey messages/results to users.

Cheers,
cexmental

When you ignore a user, I want it so THEY also can not see MY messages.

Currently, coders can set the ability to type in chat to ON/OFF (via 'x-spam'). It literally just sends a flag that tells the server not to display that specific thing in public chat. There is no way to hide the entire chat. I've been asked to come up with work-arounds so those secret show bots actually hide chat from users who have not paid. Unfortunately, it just isn't possible.

I second this suggestion. I would love a way to completely hide all public chat from appearing for specific reasons (user is blocked, user is ignored, room is in a 'secret show', etc).

However, 'notices' and 'privately sent notices' should have the ability to persist. That way when chat is hidden, broadcasters can continue to advertise.

Cheers,
cexmental

Better than this would be some kind of optional monthly rental model to access a commercial version of a bot. This would create a way for bot authors to get paid for their work and create financial incentives for talented programmers to improve the CB platform.

I do not think CB would ever implement this because the app/bot garden has been "free" from the start. I think way to many people would complain if tomorrow they had to pay $$ tokens a month to use a bot. The other issue is that broadcasters under a studio account can't even spend tokens.

I have used "demo modes" in a few of my most popular bots, and I can tell you that despite them being in rooms with 10,000+ users, very few broadcasters every donate to unlock the bots. Even less donate just to say 'thanks'. =(

Check out 'grow me a Rainbow' for a great example.

Well, I know of bot/app creators who DO charge money to customize their bots.
They have a "vanilla" bot and lock the source code, which is fine.. but they then charge $$ if you just want something small to be edited specifically for you.
And it's $xx per edit.

Don't get me wrong I have no issue with that, some apps are huge and include a lot of things, and this way too, it stops Jon Doe editing the thing and creating a new one, then breaking it, and trying to get the original creator to fix it. Plus a lot of time goes into these, so I get it. Luckily there are a lot of amazing apps and bots that are 100% free and great.

I said "optional". I guess a commercial developer could have a free version and a paid version. Everything that is free today would stay free.

It is a really tough market, and you could argue that it is not a market at all.
