Thank you zoomer I really needed an explanation on that fack internet speed I hate all providers I've decided.

Higher upload then download, I can be a cam model ....

(and no, I'm not downloading anything, I'm not watching 10 cam models, really, the only thing that was running was the speedtest)

Why is such a fail thread 3 pages long? Speed testing sites like that aren't even accurate. It's not even a general idea. I know what my speeds are. And they never match up to a speed testing site. Don't waste your time.

here's mine... i use cable.. and i switched operators 6 months ago for the download speed...
used to take 45 mins to download a dvd5... now it takes me 10-15 minutes :dance:

hi I test the speed of my internet in many sites I got the best and accurate speed results from this site http://www.scanmyspeed.com/
my results are
download=1.04kbps
upload=0.77kbps
I dont know the reason why my speed seems to be slow many of them said that if Cable Internet services share bandwidth with satellite Internet access.
If there are many subscribers using that same bandwidth, it can slow down the connection.
kindly guide me how to solve this problem .

To be fair I am at school and don't have to pay for internet. Sometimes I can get it to go up to 90+ for download speed, but right now there must be a lot of people using the internet.

I don't have a speedtest image for it, but back at home I have comcast Blast. Which is advertised as being 30Mbps down and l think 5 mbps up. That's with powerboast though, at the most I usually get around 24 or mbps down. Not as fast as my schools connection, but still pretty good.

That site does not seem to work right. My speed is way faster than it says.

holy shit, what provider do you have that youre hitting a 6mbps upload with?!

Comcast, but I am mad at those fuckers. I live in the countryside and this is the fastest speed they will sell me. People in the city can get 50mbps download speed and their upload is much faster too I think.

I have Comcast Cable as my ISP.

The speed tier is Ultra. It's advertised speed is 22Mbps/5Mbps and 30Mbps/7Mbps with PowerBoost. PowerBoost tends to give me the higher speeds for the first 25+ MB of the file transfer then drops down to my normal speed.

I have an Arris TM722G eMTA (Modem/Phone) that is channel bonding 4 downstream channels and 3 upstream channels. This device is DOCIS 3.0 certified.

I have a Netgear Wireless N router that was supplied free of charge by Comcast. It's downstairs with the cable modem and my laptop is upstairs.

Most speed tests only measure the speeds for a very short period of time. If your ISP has a feature like Comcast's PowerBoost then these types of speed tests will not give you an accurate measurement of your true sustained speeds.

ShaperProbe is a far more accurate speed test. It should give you excellent results if you are located in North America.

The speeds under estimating capacity are my PowerBoost speeds. The shaping rates are my true sustained speeds.

I just got my bill reduced $6 a month and my speed upgraded. :blob8: Now, if I could just sleep. Also, I've made mental notes of a couple of girls with the same ISP as me in case I suddenly become brave enough to weasel my way into friendships. :shifty:
