I was standing in line waiting for them to start letting people in to grab their copies of the game, and I started hearing a faint meow. So of course, they started letting us in and I grabbed my game and went to my car. Then went over to where I was hearing this meowing. (this was in the middle of the city, I'm like 90% sure someone dumped him:( ) So, after thirty minutes of me trying to coax the mysterious kitten out of this bush, the sprinklers came on. Poor baby ran to the far side of this bush and just kept crying. I ended up picking him up and wrapping him in my shirt. He sat in a bundle between my legs as I drove to Walgreens to pick up some soft food.
This adorable little scardy cat is now content, for the most part. I need to run up and grab a litter box, but until then I have a shoe-box with shredded paper.
But he kept me up til 3 am and I woke up at 7. I'm definitely not ready to start work. ~.~

It would not surprise me if it was a dump job (I have seen people do it in the most random, shitty places), but I would also not be surprised if the momma cat just abandoned it. Cats can be finicky about their offspring and some breeds even kill or eat their kids if they sense a defect.

My cat Nucky's mom constantly tried to smother him as a kitten & now we know it is because he lacks any sense of being a cat. He's more like a tiny dog who will walk to up to anyone in hopes of getting a belly rub.

Either way it was really kind of you to save the little guy. I tend to do the same if I hear meowing that goes on for longer than it would take for a momma cat to respond.

I don't know what it was. He seems house broken. He waited all day til I got him some kitty litter to go and use it. He's taking nicely to his new home. And I'm always trying to save any animal I can. haha, it kind of sucks that we can't save them all.

If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to check Craigslist for lost cat posts just in case the little dude got lost and his people are looking for him.

I checked on Craigslist and even filed a "Found" listing in the local animal shelter. They said if no one claims him after two weeks I'm free to keep him or put him up. I'm just already in love with him. o:
