I'd like to think that most of us on the forums are pro-sex work. But is there any type of consensual sex work you're against? Why?
40g as in....forty thousand dollars? is there a market for doing this to men?PlayboyMegan said:I'm personally torn on how I feel about girls doing "porta potty" work. (When girls get paid 40g to go to a different country and get shit on and have to eat shit)
On one hand, it's consensual. On the other, it's extremely humiliating and degrading.

Not that I'm aware of....

I assume you mean be okay with it in general, but not be okay with doing it all. For example. I am okay with doing webcamming, I am not okay with prostituting. But I am okay with prostitutes in general.Evvie said:I am not sure how a lady could be okay with camming but not with other kinds of sex work!
Yes, that is what I meant just because a person is intellectually fine with something doesn't mean they also have to want it for themselves. That would just be silly!PlayboyMegan said:I assume you mean be okay with it in general, but not be okay with doing it all. For example. I agree with you, Bob, but to me the "there is a black market for sex so consensual workers shouldn't engage in it" argument is a poor one. There are child slaves suffering abuse making tennis shoes, but nobody is arguing that therefore nobody should ever work at a factory job. Likewise, while some women will always be exploited inside the sex trade, that is true of any industry. Many sex workers argue that 12 hour minimum wage shifts at Burger King are abusive and exploitative, yet people have to take those jobs because they have no other choice.mynameisbob84 said:For $40k, I'd let someone do poos on me.
I don't have any problems with sex work in general. I watch porn and visit camsites, so I'd be a massive hypocrite if I did. There are risks that some sex workers take that I wish they didn't (street corner hooking strikes me as particularly dangerous for example) but what somebody chooses to do to make their money is ultimately up to them.
The only argument I can see for being against sex work that has nothing to do with insecurity, prudishness, or righteous indignation, is that so long as there's a sex trade, there will always be people (women, essentially) who are exploited and forced to do things that they wouldn't otherwise choose to. Often for very little (or nothing) in return. But there's an unfortunate underbelly to pretty much everything, ya know? The sex trade isn't unique in that regard.

Can't think of any type of sex work that I'm against... considering I watch porn, watch camgirls, and have paid a visit to a Nevada brothel.PlayboyMegan said:I'd like to think that most of us on the forums are pro-sex work. But is there any type of consensual sex work you're against? Why?
Nope as long as it's consenting adults then have at it hoss. :twocents-02cents:PlayboyMegan said:I'd like to think that most of us on the forums are pro-sex work. But is there any type of consensual sex work you're against? Why?
PunkInDrublic said:I don't think I'm against any sex work but I am against it being pushed as a long term career. Closes way more doors than it opens and for the majority it will hold them back from pursuing non sex work related interests. I can't believe people are willing to be shit on for 40 grand. 40 grand goes quick but the shame of being a human toilet has to stay with you forever.
Evvie said:The best I can tell, people who are against sex work are so for three reasons.
1. They are incredibly insecure ("if men can sleep with prostitutes they'll never choose me!")
2. They have a religious belief which states that having sex without love or marriage corrodes or decays the soul, or makes a god angry, or,
3. They have very antiquated ideas about what people should be "allowed" to do, and because they do not understand sex work they do not think people should be "allowed" to engage in it.
Ethically, I probably would not support sex workers engaging in fetishes which encourage psychological problems (like a stalking/kidnap/rape fantasy). However, like Stephen Fry says... you're offended, so what? Just because I do not like something does not make it bad or wrong.
Street corner hooking, posh escorting, stripping, phone sex, sugar babies, webcam sex shows, paid consensual slavery, I don't see a problem with any of it. I am not sure how a lady could be okay with camming but not with other kinds of sex work! Then again, maybe someone can educate me I actually have a great deal of respect for women who do other kinds of sex work because I understand it is very demanding.

Eevie - theres another type of person who is antisexwork.
Sadly they are calling themselves feminists.
I once had a raging argument on a plane with a woman who was anti sex work because it 'degrades' women etc etc. She had lots of stories about how CUM SHOTS to the FACE degrade women etc etc and how all porn girls are on drugs and basically saw herself as a white-knight saving the day!
Of course, she's never done drugs, sex work, or anything similar.

That lady sounds like a shit feminist to me. Last I checked, it was supposed to be about enabling everyone to have options for themselves regardless of gender, not judging them for the choices they make.
