Initially I was going to ask this in the MO section, but thought it might be nice to read everyone's thoughts as well.

I have a problem with selling myself and have a tendency to be very pragmatic when talking/writing about qualities that I do and do not have. I would rather undersell and overdeliver than to set expectations that may not be fulfilled. Thus, my descriptions about myself and content comes across very cold and unsexy. It feels so weird for me to try to write something like "hear my sexy moans while I get off" because well, maybe they aren't sexy and/or maybe my moans aren't what some people would consider to be moaning. Instead, I'll write something like "watch me masturbate until I get off", which sounds insanely boring compared to the former, but it's objectively what's happening and can't be open to any subjective opinions. I've read so many people's bio's and content descriptions. They're typically fun, flirty, and talk about how awesome they and their content is. This feels so hard for me to do! Does it come naturally for you, or is it a skill you've developed over time? Do you feel descriptions are all that important? Perhaps a certain description style can be considered part of your brand? Is it okay to be subjective in descriptions and just expect that there will be some disappointment from someone sometimes? How to find that balance between not disappointing people and also adequately selling yourself? Am I overthinking?

People who visit models and/or buy their content, how much, if any, influence does their bio and/or content description have on you? Have you ever been disappointed? What is an ideal description for you?

I dont have any suggestion but THANK YOU for starting this topic. I’m a similar way and its impossible for me to talk about myself in a sexy, flirty way. Its just not my personality. I’m more silly/sarcastic/straightforward, I dont think I have a seductive bone in my body 😆

cant help but feel Id broaden my reach a bit if I could put on just a little more porny-ness.

Hey Britney,

I never base my decision to join and spend tokens in a model's room on her bio or description. While a well written, engaging and thoughtful self description is nice to read and makes me smile, it never influences my decision making. Some models I like have no description at all. Words can also be misleading, some bios are outright bragging and exaggeration - yet not even that is a put-off for me. I would never judge a model persona by something she wrote in her bio. I read yours on CB and it is perfectly ok. There is no impression of underselling yourself.

hear my sexy moans while I get off

Maybe a suggestion from someone who likes to write a bit: In your words you make a) a promise and b) an assumption. You promise you will moan, and you assume that your moans will be perceived as sexy. Not that this would make me leave your room, or expect you to deliver one hell of a moaning show, but some individuals with high expectations might hold you to your words. Some will expect you to deliver.
Why not turn the tables on this one? Make the customer deliver instead of you! I like to use questions or suggestions:
Something like "Will you make me writhe and moan with pleasure? Will you make me cum?"
You could even be more assertive. "Will you be able to inflame my sexy moaning while you make me cum?"
Or even begging, like "Would you please try to make me cum? If I love it, I might even moan my desire directly into your waiting ears.."
Whatever comes to your mind, just relieve yourself of the pressure to deliver something you promised. Suggest, tease, leave doors open half-way. Make them WANT to try, make them believeit is their duty to pleasure the queen, making her moan and cum again and again. Lure them into the illusion that whatever the outcome of this tryst will be lies solely in the hands of the customer. If you don't moan as loud or sexy as they imagined, they will think more like it was their own fault. "Maybe I didn't tip enough to please her? *sigh* I need to do better next time"

On the other hand, these are just the ramblings of a man who a) has a kink for gentle femdom, b) loves to please women and c) is lost in some strange romanticism.

Anyway, don't think about your bio too much, just fill the aether of your room with your excited, inaudible breath, and subtle moans, some whimsical glances and delightful insinuations - and all mens' hearts must burn and beat, thus all of their tokens, lustrous and bright, live but to light your passing feet!

Cheers!
..silent..

I dont think I have a seductive bone in my body
Oh dear, let all that be! Of course you can be seductive! Just reach into that passionate fire that burns beneath your heart and let go. Be yourself.
And I am perfectly positive that, if your pubic mound counts as a bone, I would find that single bone utterly seductive!

I consider my clip descriptions to be a big part of my brand. I basically write short stories for most of my clips, haha. The only videos I don't write long story-like descriptions for are the ones that are pretty straight forward without much of a plot, which isn't common at all in my clip store, or the videos that are just story telling. Also, in my clip descriptions, I usually switch between first and second person pov writing styles, depending on what I'm in the mood to write that day.

On average, my videos tend to be between 20-35 minutes long, with quite a few over 40 minutes long. Since they are pretty long and mostly story driven, I want customers and potential customers to know exactly what they are getting, and I think having it written out as a short story (rather than, “I do this and then I do this and that”) gives people more incentive to buy it. I buy a ton of video games, and while previews/trailers definitely play a part in whether or not I buy it, the descriptions play a part as well. I like reading a description and being like "Oh hell yeah, that sounds awesome. I need to see it and play it for myself!" And I want my customers to feel the same way when they read what my videos are all about.

I have had members actually comment on my descriptions before, saying that they like the way I write them. I have never once had anyone complain about it. So, I really doubt being more descriptive in your descriptions would hurt your sales or your brand. I think the only time members/customers would have a negative reaction is if a model just flat out lied in the description. Like if a model said "I get naked and make myself cum" and then just talked totally clothed for the entire clip.

When I first started out with clip making I wrote sort of bland descriptions, and those videos didn't do so well. Although, I wasn't creating the same quality content that I do now, which I'm sure is more of the reason as to why I didn't do so hot in the beginning. It was when I decided to start doing the creative clips that I like doing that I changed my description style as well. I love to write fictional stories (usually of the horror variety, haha) so it wasn't really something that I had to get used to. The creative writing sort of came naturally for me, but I'm sure it is something that you can get better with over time!

If you want, I can shoot you a message with my MV or C4S link and you can take a look through my descriptions if you would like!

I feel the same way. What helps me is to think of how I'd feel if someone I'm attracted to had created the same content. If I'm into someone, I'm not so worried about the specific details because I find pretty much anything they do to be attractive. I won't care if those moans are actually gasps and whimpers because I'm into the person I'm watching.

Then I try to focus on the fact that the people buying my content are into me. They find me attractive, so they'll likely find what I'm doing attractive. That makes it a little easier to write sexy, flirty descriptions.

In general I'd say selling oneself is very common. I have issues with it in vanilla work, reviews, interviews, etc. But I think the difference is like @Marceline discussed about being descriptive and narrative. If they're short clips, keep the description relatively short but informative. But, in longer videos, definitely take time to set the stage and give a longer description. In both, absolutely nothing wrong with being creative, appealing to a person's desires, etc and making them want to purchase it.

If you have troubles, read some of the feedback you might get from your clips or how some of your more trusted/honest regulars might describe your shows. I've had models ask me what I thought of them, as well as give honest reviews with specific pro/con points. You won't appeal to everyone. But, it definitely will help to be a bit more creative on your descriptions. If you're having problems coming up with ideas, I'm sure there's plenty of creative writing/essay courses one could find online. Or, perhaps some erotic fiction to help with the flow of things.

Creative writing is something I definitely enjoy and don't do often enough myself.

I love storytelling descriptions but also consider whatever you write SHOULD be simple enough in syntax for google translate to work on since easy to translate text keeps your content open to non English speakers.

Taking your own example I would write, 'watch me masturbate, increased moaning till climax' as it's easier for google and terms like 'get off' will often be mistranslated but also mentions the moaning you feel is the premium of the video.

Really the level of description comes down to understanding if your audience WANTS setup and pomp or they just want to buy quick gonzo from you. Vanilla might be simple and boring but it still sells the most for a reason. One truth to cam is you don't always get the audience you expected.

I think my MFC profile just says one word: "adorkable" lol
I think my IG says "A Bad Influence(r)" and any About Me section will probably just have my AllMyLinks link.
Annnnd for descriptions on clips, I say stuff like "you caught me playing with myself and it made me so turned on to pretend not to notice you watching that I..." I don't really compliment myself or anything, just explain what's happening and what the story is.

I kinda let people decide who I am to them and what's sexy about me and I roll with it. For instance, i knew I had a cute butt but it's definitely the thing I get complimented on the most. So I feel good about hyping it up like "watch my panties fall over my perfect ass" haha but it took some time to get the confidence.

@silentm0de Thanks for taking the time to check out my CB bio and for your suggestions. I don't typically have an issue with creating a title for my room when I stream. I nearly always use some totally innocuous or silly subject, such as "chill" or "brit boobily bounces". Exception is if I'm using Lush, then I say something like "Lush me" or "Lush day". I like your idea of a title with a phrase like "can you make me cum?" Might use something like that more often when I use Lush. It's more inviting.

@thinkinboutit Hopefully you'll get some ideas! I personally think that every woman has the potential to be sexy and seductive so I know you've got it in you!

@Marceline I absolutely love your comparison to video games. It's how I feel as well, which is why I try to be as honest and thorough when writing descriptions. I seriously lack the pizzazz to liven things up though. Your suggestion of turning it into a short story sounds really great and I'll give that a try. I would love a link to whatever store you feel comfortable sharing. Your style seems like something for me to really aspire to. Your vid length sounds insane, but also a lot of fun for all parties. Thank you for taking the time to write all that out.

@veggiebabyy That's a fair point. I think I have a lot of insecurity and it's difficult for me to comprehend that all these people actually find me attractive so it's hard for me to put myself into their perspective. I will try to detach myself from my content and look at it through a "damn she's sexy and I want to see everything of hers" type of lens. Tough task!

@ForceTen I've had feedback from my vids. Some people say that they like my short unsexy descriptions because they were then pleasantly surprised. Others have said that I severely undersell myself in the descriptions. The former group tends to be people who have been my people for a long time, while the latter tends to be newer people. The former group has probably just gotten used to my style, which is why they feel that way. I've found that I struggle to initially sell things to people, but once people start buying my things, then they continue to do so. Writing more sexily, I feel, will definitely help with this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

@SMuser69 That's a good point. Never really thought about how my wording of something could be misconstrued via Google translate.

@MissCJ I love when people have that sort of confidence and you inspire me to get to the point you are! I think the only part of my body that I can confidently say is pretty great is my neck. Is neck fetish a thing? Off to Google!

Yassss guys love necks. Pull your hair to the side and run your fingers down it. Put it on your tip menu as neck tease. It would be a hit.

Thank you for posting this! You’re not alone! I was literally just having these same thoughts today while uploading content.

my video titles are so cold and cringy to me! I have that same problem of not wanting to over promise so I ended up with titles like
“Blowjob and raw sex”
“Quick Car Masturbation”
“Chaturbate Broadcast”

😔

I was thinking maybe I should try searching for videos that are similar to what I’m posting and look for inspiration but alll I see is the “hear my sexy moans while I get off” type.

This was originally posted a while ago did you ever have any luck in figuring this out? @Brit

It's something that I've been working on. While my titles/descriptions aren't as sexy as most other people's, I think that I'm doing a better job writing them.

For example, my last vid I posted on MV has the title "Come for the dress. Stay for the tits" and the description is "I slowly reveal my lingerie before removing the top completely. My nipples grow hard underneath the touch of my fingers. You ache to see what my panties are covering as I tease you with revealing more skin." What I wanted to write as the title was something like "Me wearing a dress" (I don't ever wear dresses so it's a big deal) and then the description being "My first striptease in a dress" or something like that. 😅

"Quick Car Masturbation" could be turned into something like "Thoughts of fucking penetrated my mind while I was driving home from the gym. I had no choice but to pull over. My hard cock demanded that I take no time seeking release."

It takes me some time to step out of myself and try to view my content as an outsider and then come up with an accurate description of what's going on. The tips that were given in this thread helped me out a lot. I'm beginning to appreciate my own body more and my confidence has improved. It's not easy to change, especially when that change feels super weird, but you can do this!

Wow! Yes this is it! Lol how much will you charge me to make my titles and descriptions?? Lol jk but seriously this was super inspiring to look at from your point of view. Can’t wait to try getting creative with the next one 💙

Part of my experience so far is that everything being online, text can be as sexy as an actual visual stuff. I run into a lot of people who read my bio and then feel really comfortable telling me how they want to play. You're being true to yourself by not wanting to oversell. I don't think that's a bad thing. I definitely find myself in some different privates for sure.... but it feels good to provide an outlet like that. It has definitely opened up my imagination, too.
