Rosse and Other Model Name Terminology

I've been wondering why so many models use the name Rosse and Mariposa so I finally looked 'em up.

rosse female (plural rosses)

(pejorative, of a woman) A bitch, a harpy or cow

Mariposa female

(slang) a prostitute

Are those the intended definitions or am I missing something?

I'm probably not alone in wondering, so thought it may help others along with a place to ask future name referenced questions.

Mariposa is also spanish for butterfly.


and rosse as far as I know is also a adjective for things colored pink, another way to say it I think, taken from french or somewhat. But that one I'm not so sure about.
