Ring Tones

Some time I took to making my own MP3 ring tones because 1. I found the quality of most MP3 ring tones wasn't exceptional to begin with and 2. I didn't want to pay for a song I already had to be a ringtone. I recently mentioned that my current ring tone is from Breakdown by Breaking Benjamin and Amber was not familiar with the song... so I found myself with the urge to post up a few of the ring tones I've made. I'm only extremely happy with the result of 2 of them so they get the first two spots on the list.

• Breaking Benjamin - Breakdown
• Offspring - You're Gonna Go Far, Kid
• Disturbed - Pain Redefined
• Rage Against the Machine - Freedom
• 12 Stones - Fade Away

What are other people using for ring tones? Anyone else try their hand at something similar? In fact, I quite enjoy the process so if anyone wants to make a request or two, I might be game.

I usually go to myxer.com to download and create my own ringtones

some of the ringtones i currently have are

- Kevin Rudolf, I come from money (I use this ringtone for MFC models that call me :-D )

- Boss Battle , Final Fantasy 9 (use it for my bosses/superiors at work)

- Zelda Ocarina of time, treasure box and get item (For when i get text messages)

and a couple others :roll:

Right now I have a crappy cheap phone that can't do mp3 ring tones.

On my nokia N95, any mp3 could be a ringtone, they would just play from the begining until the ringing was supposed to end (30 seconds, I think)

I used to have Cadence to Arms by Dropkick Murphys as my ringtone, with... fuck, I forget the name...

I know it's a newer song that focused on being overworked, and that was my ringtone for work-related numbers (both the store and the other employees)

Yeah... my Blackberry (and most smartphones?) will do it that way but I try and create clips for certain parts or to have nice endings.

There is some song clipper or something to make my own ringtones but I never do. I could but I never seem to remember all the reasons I hook up my phone or what not. Plus I find free apps that work well.

Right now when my phone rings I have Charlie Sheen saying "I will kill you violently."
When I get a text or another notification I have "Rays of sunshine pour out of my finger tips and I water them with the tears of jaguars *jauguar roar*"
...
Also Charlie Sheen. I love his randomness. I find him more enjoyable now.

I worked on this a little tonight and thought I'd gotten a good clip but when I played it back, it wasn't right so I'm gonna have to restart from scratch. I was trying to be too fancy with it.

If you have an Evo, I'd suggest getting Ringdroid. It lets you cut out parts of songs and save them as ringtones, easy peasy.

Mostly I use the handshaking sound of a 56.6k modem.

LOL! Yes there is. I hadn't noticed that. I arranged the songs in my library alphabetically, and started at the beginning, so a lot of "A" songs. "All" must be a popular word for song titles, that or I have a weird subconscious obsession with the word.

Okay, sorry for going horribly off-topic, but I feel like I have to share this:

I heard of some kid who went to visit a nuclear power plant, with his class or somesuch.
So, to fuck around a bit, he had downloaded an MP3 ring tone of the crackling of a friggin' Geiger counter on his phone, and kept pretending to scan shit with it.
Supposedly the staff weren't all that amused, but I'd give my left nut to have seen that. :lol:

Thread Necromancy!

I was reminded of this thread because I recently mentioned in another thread how I use the program Audacity to put together ringtones. It seems I have a LOT more of these than I used to and the original links are all dead thanks to megaupload being slain by the US government... so I've thrown all of them up on my Google Drive for anyone who would be interested in using any of these. There are a couple missing as of this moment that I have to get off my desktop at work but they'll be added to the folder soonish.
