I think perhaps you are referring to the new age verification laws being passed in many states, in the US.
It is part of a conservative political movement, which has passed in several states.
However, as far as I understand, it's just a quick ID check or something of that nature, and it's only if you live in certain areas.
But it does freak some people out initially... from what I read.

In many countries, new laws/regulations have been announced regarding access to adult content/platforms for persons under 18 years of age.
According to these new regulations, the user is required to confirm his age (18+) before the platform/media service starts displaying adult content.
Stripchat is extremely careful and attentive to new regulations and we follow the changes as each country announces their updates.
