You seem to have a jaded point of view and have never tried sex work. You’re also generalizing and assuming the ones who “type, make money and log off” are successful. This takes a ton of work and actually I knew women who opted out of it after the pandemic because they stated how hard it was. Until you try it you have no clue. Please evaluate your judgement and closed mind..it’s toxic and outdated. Also, it is ONE of the hardest jobs. You are running a business, a private contractor who makes their own schedule, disciplines themselves to show up, entertaining men and being a good conversationalist while consistently being in a good mood so they pay you and can at least absorb positive energy because the members are looking for an escape from stress. If the cam model is having a bad day, she better work to pep talk herself in a great mood. A 4 hour cam shift can feel like an 8 hour shift if retail. Not to mention it’s also psychotherapy due to the amount of men speaking about their mental and emotional health. I have had some tell me things they were most ashamed of and have never told anyone. You think it’s just porn, and you know what about 70% of it isn’t even sexual. Then there are some that just spill their shit on you, like you absorb their heavy energy and the aftercare is crucial. Detox baths, cleansing, meditation, yoga, and herbal remedies are all necessities to handle this job. Sex workers see the true side of men that are kept hidden. Taking your clothes off is the tip of the ice berg. We have been taught it’s degrading and not having respect for yourself when in fact it’s the smart thing to do if you feel confident and hot-do you know how much confidence you need to fucking do this job Jesus-and working at a corporate job that takes advantage and under pays is much more degrading lol. I hope you educate yourself more on something you have failed to understand.

Wow.. where was that hateful stupid uneducated post you replied to dug up from. Hehehe
I'd reply to it as well, but the original poster is deleted. So... i'll refrain.

Best wishes to all, trying to handle the difficult and emotional job.

It got deleted? Lol because they got destroyed haha! I didn’t even mention all the background work in regarding the research we have to do to be successful, manage our fluctuating money income which is emotional itself, and choosing the best payment method…it’s especially harder as a Canadian model. And I wish you lots of prosperity! May we override slow times and be grateful for our income as it increases this holiday season. We come first! I don’t give a shit. Words are spells.

The post wasn’t deleted. That Mark guy, however, was banned from this forum several months ago. 👍

I'm just curious... Does anyone have personal experiences they are comfortable sharing where they hit that moment of "oh shit..." upon realizing this? Or maybe this is better suited to a models only page, lol.

Like- a lot of younger girls can read this post and get scared by it, but then quickly shake it off because it's never happened. I mean I'm just gonna be honest, I knew all of this before I did it. Whatever I post is most likely gonna end up somewhere else. Whatever I do- is going to be screencapped or whatever. The possibility is there- but admittedly, I got over that kind of quickly...
I guess maybe I'm asking if anyone here might lowkey regret getting into this job because of this reason.
Sorry to reply to a year old post, but this resonated with me.

Before my current cam persona, like a lot of you I was an exhibitionist online for free. Got involved in an online relationship where I sent the guy a bunch of nudes that went past my comfort level, kink-wise. Relationship ended badly and for a long time I lived in fear of him posting them in revenge. Like, I don’t think he would, but you never know. Some guys are very strange about camgirls.

Obviously I have taken steps to differentiate myself from those old photos, making a new username and changing up my appearance and demeanor but it takes exactly 1 obsessed psycho to notice a freckle on my bum matching up with my old pictures. So, I have to contend with the fact that it’s always a possibility they’ll be connected to me.

To keep anxiety at bay, I like to think of the old zen story about the tea cup:

"'One day Ajahn Chah held up a beautiful Chinese tea cup, “To me this cup is already broken. Because I know its fate, I can enjoy it fully here and now. And when it’s gone, it’s gone.'” When we understand the truth of uncertainty and relax, we become free."
~ version by Jack Kornfield (from The Wise Heart)

Privacy in the 21st century is an illusion. Corporations stalk our every move through our smartphones. Even normal people who don’t cam or watch porn, they’d be so shocked to find out what their telephone company knows about them. Or how much data Google has passively scraped from their searches, their emails, and so on.

So we whores might as well get paid for it!

Interesting thread, I must say. Specially that it has been running for a dozen years and that you can clearly see the evolution regarding global "awareness" and its repercussions on camsites...

Studio girls have always been the majority on camsites, but there's less and less, very few actually, new independent girls nowadays, the bulk of newbies being from the 18, "clueless" non nude studio girls brought on cam by deceptive ways, then disappearing 2-3 monhts later to be replaced by a clone...

The reason is clear: less and less girls, specially in the US and western countries, are deluded or misinformed about privacy in this business... Many grew up as camsite visitors when those were at their peak, and don't need the reality check... They're aware of how popular camsites are, that geoblocking is useless, and that people around them will know (or guess), because people like to talk and you can't dramatically change your lifestyle and expect your family or friends not to understand what's going on (actually the first thing people often imagine is "escorting")....

Fewer and fewer aren't also aware of the massive piracy and paralell business that is running around camsites, with people recording, ripping, sharing, selling... their shows that will circulate around the Internet even way after they retired, with facial recognition eventually "catching" them later.. And they know that no, DMCA doesn't protect your content... They just see.

And it has a massive impact on camsites and their attractivty... As eveyone knows, guys prefer indies, while any long time or simply good camgirl who retires nowadays (and they have to at some point) is replaced by one of the girls mentioned above or a girl who will quickly get the reality check then disappear... Huge drop off in quality, hence why audience and money have shrunk so badly (partial explaination anyway)...

Thinking about a super hot newbie a few months ago you could feel she wouldn't last long... 90% of her time in private, pervs were piling up in front of her private door... 3 weeks later she was gone. You could feel it all the way she wasn"t "aware" and almost feel bad for her because you also felt that's the last thing she wanted...

Less american or western indies also means less of that american or western audience that was making for like 2/3 or so of the global one and even more of the money spent, including those US daddies or whales who used to make camsites florish (hello MyFreecams!)

(these guys as well got their reality check, but that's another topic, which wouldn't probably be very popular in a camgirl forum (basic self-preservation) even if that's also part of the explaination why audience and money have dropped so brutally...)

Oh, and about the raging debate on "camgirl", cam model" "camwhore", "performer"...

I don't really care or have a word to say on how people want to call themselves on camsites but just focus on, you know, what's on camera... But for the sake of it, and peacefully so, it is true that there's always been a conscious or inconscious effort in the different activities of the sex industry to "desexualize" or "deserotize" (I know that's not a word) what's going on a set, cam room or wherever, while at the end of the day, it's all about sex or erotism., right? Female attraction if you prefer.

Truth to be told, I don't really think anyone is lurking on camsites to see a hot girl "perform" a mammary exposition or "create" a vaginal introduction, live or on a vid she sells, but are here to see a girl flash her big boobies or finger her pussy and get excited about it, which is perfectly fine....

But again, who cares about nouns as long as guys enjoy their camgirls and camgirls enjoy their money...? Let's just call ourselves girls and guys and the wold will keep turning round.

Lol what raging debate? A couple of weird guys who aren’t even in the business are obsessed w that issue. The rest of us have lives, and more important, relevant things to focus on.

What a bunch of opinionated drivel. Yawn. It never fails to amaze me how many weirdos are obsessed w this business and the people actually in it. Who has that amount of free time? What a waste of mental energy. Scandalous, just scandalous.

ETA; if we’re going all crazy and making up words now, I’m making up one too. To describe that post; drivelated.

They were talking about that on The View. What kills me is that 1) how would the snitch/es even know about it unless THEY were on OF themselves. Uh-huh…And 2) mothers are constantly shamed when they work “regular” 9-5 jobs, and have to miss out on their child’s school events during the day. It’s “Awww, Timmy’s mom never gets to come to his school events! Well hopefully she can come to Breakfast With Santa!” Yeah, well Timmy’s mom works for someone else, and doesn’t have the luxury of working whenever she wants, and has to request time off for every school conference, Thanksgiving luncheon, etc. Because…you know…bills and stuff, and not wanting to get fired.

Btw I saw that OnlyFans mom speaking about this, and she’s gorgeous. I bet you it’s a butthurt housewife who outed her. If a mother is able to have a job that allows her the freedom to work when she wants, and be available for all of her kids’ activities too…that’s a dream come true imo! Fucking haters. Mothers are SUPERHEROES. Always finding a way to make shit happen, and take care of their family.

Models. You need to realize this right now. ANY time you put something on the internet, it is there FOREVER. It can never be eliminated, and eventually it will be found by someone who you'd rather not find it.

For example, any time you are on cam, you should assume that images or videos of that cam show will be recorded and put on the internet forever. I'm talking private shows, group shows, and ESPECIALLY public shows. It's already the case that MFC owns the rights to all of said imagery and video, and can do with it what they like.

You may not like it when members record your shows and upload them to different places on the internet, and you can try hard to get those images taken down. Sometimes you may find that you are even successful with getting an instance of something taken down. But the truth is, once it's out there it is impossible to fully retract. All it takes is one person to have saved a copy of it before it got taken down, and it can be reposted again. There is jack shit you can do about it, so it is not worth your time trying to take it down. It will only delay the inevitable, and could in fact speed it up by pissing people off and making them post it more.

A lot of models use location-block in order to block people from their hometown and surrounding area from seeing them. This is a decent short-term solution, but in the end, it's pointless. There is absolutely no way to guarantee that people from your home town will never find out. All it takes is one time for someone you know from real life to be travelling out of state and see you online, or see your pictures. It is also easy for technically-savvy people to use a proxy to get around location blocks. The point is, location block is only a temporary solution, and there are ways around it. You will be found out. It is only a matter of time.

Let's say you're super lucky, and during your several-year stint as a camwhore, you are never found by someone you know in real life. You think you're off the hook? Along with all the imagery MFC has recorded of you and could sell at any point in time, you can bet that random members (and guests!) have taken lots of imagery too. It will be on the internet forever. 40 years down the road, your kids will stumble across naked pictures and videos of you on the internet. It's going to happen. This is reality, and there is nothing you can do to change it.

The point? If you don't want your friends and family to find out you're a camwhore, then don't become a camwhore. Don't want your grandkids to see videos of you anally fisting yourself? Then don't become a camwhore. Don't want the local authorities to find out you're a camwhore? I think I'm becoming redundant here.

Do you think your real-life identity is secret? All it takes is ONE person you know from real life to find you on MFC and leak your identity. It's going to happen eventually. Hopefully it won't happen for a while, but you need to be prepared for the day when it does happen, because mark my words, it will.

Once something is on the internet, it is there forever. Making an attempt to change that fact only makes you look stupid.

its the risk we all take to make the money

The double standard for what is acceptable for mothers v. fathers is total fucking bullshit. I'm sorry that happened to that woman. Fuck those small-minded douchebags.

It really is!

Also…I’ve seen a meme on Facebook showing a comparison of things that people will say to a father who is out with his child (praising him with “Aw, you’re such a good dad!,” etc.)…versus the things that people will say to a mother who is out with her child and doing the exact same thing (But will shame the mother or nitpick that she shouldn’t blah, blah, blah).

100% agree. And it reeks of hypocrisy from the accusers' (like you said, bored housewife). Probably scared the husband she can't trust to keep his dick in his pants....as if OF models are out there bending over for just any dad with a minivan :haha:.

Instead of being applauded for working + caring enough about her kids' school participation...Now they made a whole fuss of it and all the kids know what she does for a living.

I haven't read this entire thread. As you can see for yourself, it's 22 'pages' long, and dates back to 2010.
But philosophically, I feel the focus of much of what I've seen here is off-target. Instead of worrying too much about being outed, own your decisions and life.
Sexually, it's time we all came of age. If some creep sidles up to you in the mini-mart and says "Heh heh... I saw you on see-bee last night", the appropriate response is not to blush with shame and run out. The appropriate response is to look him straight in the eye, and say "Ohh... YOU'RE the fucking creep who doesn't tip."

Admittedly, it's easier for me to say this than most. I don't cam for a living, but for fun - and I know for a fact that there are exactly zero images and AV that show my face, anywhere.

If someone tries to humiliate you - however and wherever - DO NOT hand them a stick to beat you with. Masochists do that.
Instead, don't be afraid to pick up their steaming wet pile of disdain, and drop it neatly back into their shirt pocket.
People who enjoy humiliating others operate from the assumption that the people they're humilating are soft targets. In a situation like that, you need to reclaim your power.
I once heard a story about a transsexual who got called a 'Faggot' on the street. The story goes that she turned around to whoever-it-was, and said "Darling, I'm more of a man than you'll ever be... and more of a woman than you'll ever have."

Rule #1 (not just of being confident on cam, but also of being a well-adjusted human being): Learn not to give a shit about what people think.
If you gave most people a penny for their thoughts, believe me, you'd get change.

Great and all, but mostly it is about safety, not humiliation.

We aren't ashamed of our job, but there are people out there who get twisted minds and should not know our real names and where we live... the less people who find our profiles and such, the easier it is to keep our personal info contained to keep us safe.

But thanks for your opinion. It's probably not going to resonate very well since you are a hobby cammer who wears a mask and it's clearly a different scenario than the majority of us here who do this for a living. Also I know you don't abide by political correctness but refrain from using words like the one in the quoted post in future.

As a woman who isn't a sex worker the danger of sexual attacks is ever present, not something most men ever think about, or have to worry about. As a sex worker it is amplified.
Women have to think about these things everywhere we go anyways.

if some creep slides up to me in the mini Mart I’m not blushing with shame, I’m trying to figure out how to get back to my car and home without him seeing my license plate, or following me home. I’m going to say and do whatever the safest thing will be for me

I’d also love to know how you see this playing out in custody battles lol when you’re like “I have no shame!” And they’re like “cool but you’re an unfit parent so we’re giving their dad full custody”

Or what am I supposed to do at the border when they use facial recognition tools to refuse me entry?

Or when I’m in the middle of my citizenship interview?

How am I supposed to manage it when the police tell me to get another job when I report my stalker ?

I am I supposed to rent when landlords use facial recognition to find out my job and deny me? Or when banks freeze my funds??

This post is so incredibly naive and preachy. The real world doesn’t care if I’m ashamed, stigma is not about someone laughing at me in a minimart - it’s about safety and access to society

So much for an attempt at solidarity.
I guess you've all put me in my place... whatever that place is. :)

Your personal safety is something you deserve. Unconditionally. No matter who you are.
I thought I'd made my stance on that clear.
And I'd still be trying to, if I weren't too busy pulling arrows from my back.

You don't know any of us and you're new to the forum. Your post was misinformed.
If someone I don't know immediately trys too hard to prove what a "nice guy" or ally of mine they are, I've noticed it's usually bullshit.
So yeah...

As for solidarity, most of us do this full time for money. I believe I read your intro and you said you are basically a hobby wanker... so...
I wouldn't say it was arrows in your back. More a teaching/ learning/ growth opportunity (for you).
But if you're gonna be immature and personalize it in a silly way.. then that's what you're going to do 🤷‍♀️
To be fair it's not like you're the only adult to act like a oversensitive fucking Baby online. It's fairly common online and in everyday life. So there you go...

not really. posted your location in your first post then the next was extremely tone-deaf in a thread about how the internet is forever, accepting the consequences, and general internet safety.

Your right to personal safety is unassailable.
Your arguments, on the other hand...

Apparently, you haven't yet realized that that also works the other way around.
If you thought I was going to come in here with my legs spread so you could kick me in the nuts, think again.

Another helping of self-fulfilling prophecy, anyone? There's plenty left.

As for solidarity, most of us do this full time for money. I believe I read your intro and you said you are basically a hobby wanker... so...

And this year's Academy Award for taking off her clothes goes to... MarieElise.
Condescension. Junior if I do it, classy if you do it, huh?
Tsk, tsk.
