Ok so I've been chatting in private with a model on cams for 6 months now and have never asked her to perform a show or strip. I started out chatting one day out of pure bordom and now have enjoyed the company. I very rearly log on when I dont have funds so I try not to "waste" her time.

My question to you ladies (please be honest) Do you enjoy the type of client that comes in to your room for conversaton only? btw i do c2c eachtime too.

Do you mind if this type of client comes into free chat sometimes and chats with u or do u prefer I hate to use the term but a wham bam thank u mam type client?

Thanks just looking for how u feel about these customers.

thanks

We are there, on cam, as a job. We intend to make $ while on cam. This (for me) does not mean I HAVE to have $ to hang out or chat, and I prefer someone to talk to so as not to be bored stupid. I think that its OK for people to talk for free and hang out, so long as it doesn't interrupt the flow of any shows, and that one person doesn't expect me or another cam girl to ignore the whole room just to chat. Friendships happen, and I think they should, but it is also a job. So long as she is cool with it, I would say keep it up, just don't expect a "free show" because you have spent time talking.

Eva, I think you missed something- he's talking in private. So he's paying for her time, just doesn't want the sexy stuff.

Jack, I don't mind that at all! I do get a bit nervous about it sometimes, usually my more paranoid days (there's a reason I changed my mfc name to LovelyLunatic x.x) when I fear that the person just wants to sift through the information he's getting in order to find me and attempt to court me. (fortunately, I'm not all that afraid that someone who takes the time to chat with me is out to rape me ^_^).

But, when I'm not having a paranoid day, I love sitting and chatting about things. Unfortunately, I run out of conversation topics quick. x.x I should keep wikipedia open so I can look some things up while talking. :p

See for me I have know idea why I'm even visiting the website since I'm technically not getting any "joy" out if it, but im doing it. (first step to addiction is admitting lol) however this particular model is full time in a studio and I figured when I come online and take her private I'm giving her a chance to take a break and relax from the crazy (non paying jerks) and sex shows. Anyways That is why I asked the question if you have any regulars that just chat with you and how you feel about it.. As much as I'd like to say I'd like to have a "relationship" I'm a realist and know that will never happen and don't really expect it to happen beyond a virtual relationship... If that makes sense.

uh, yea, guess I missed that part LOL Thanks LL! Then hell yea! Go for it, if thats what makes you happy, I would LOOOOOVE someone to just hang out in pvt. I hate sitting there and not talking. I would rather hang out, and maybe later get to sexy time, instead of right into *BAM* then its over. But the convo has to go both ways or I get frustrated. Go Jack!

I love it when people prvt skype and tip me for chatting with them naked or dressed I do not care it is very very nice fuck I wish that is all a camgirl did was to get paid for just talking. I also like it when people just come in to chat in free to keep convo going too so the room is not quiet and boring as hell also. You sound like a very awesome customer.

I'd LOVE to go into private and just chat, I think it's a good break. I don't know about her but in my shoes I'd be okay with it.

I LOVE going private just to hang out and chat. Making money while chilling out and getting to know another human being? Hell yea. I've had premiums come and go who I considered my friends partly because I got to know them from going private just to hang out (sometimes they were sexual privates, but many times they weren't). I miss them all! They're so memorable for that ^_^

I have had several just chat privates. I have to say theyre one of my favorite to get. Especially from a regular. Ive also had ones that began with some sexual fun and after we came we hung out to chat. With the right member or regular its awesome fun. And yes it is a nice break from a sometimes hectic crazy room too.
The site yes is geared towards sexual things but that doesnt mean that you cant have some non sexual chats with us girls. We may be weary at first of course cause were not used to it, but if you let us know then we can breath a sigh of relief youre not out to just get info to find us lol. You have to understand we get alot of people trying to do so, as well as some who once were in private expect us to be naked with a toy shoved up our vag in 3.2 seconds and cumming from it.
Also as a camgirl we understand that you can take us private every single day to do this, not everyone has that kind of money. So when you can its fine just to stay in free chat with us and contribute to conversation in the room. As long as you arent demanding special attention or free things then youre always welcome in a girls room. :)

LOL I'm loving that people are now using the word customer when I previously got chewed out for it. Anyways, you sound like the perfect guy to me!! I have a guy similar to this and I wrote him to let him know it's okay to come in my room without money. I like him as a person, he is hilarious and makes me smile. Don't feel bad chatting w/ out money! I can literally talk for hours, so I love it. I also love masturbating. It's nice that all guys like something different. If I JUST masturbated all day it would become robotic and not real. Change up is a great thing.

i agree with the other girls. a private chat to just chat would be great. i myself enjoy learning about tthe people i am talking with. it makes the time go faster and i cna actually take the time to relate to them and ask a question. for example "hey Sam how is the job search going or how is the new job" ect ect. I feel it allows them to realize we do pay attention to what they say. besides the show boobs BB stuff. I like and enjoy the people that come into my room. rather it is a basic just starting, a model checking my room out or the premiums. i enjoy and welcome you all. To me conversation is important to make anything and everything flow well. So Jack you're more then welcome to come chill in my room if u like.

I used to get a few private shows just to chat, keep my clothes on, etc. I feel there were a few people who used to do this that ended up getting attached to me in a way that isn't good for a cam girl/member friendship. I think keeping the conversation at a certain level of "personal-ness" is key in these situations.

In general, it's a good idea to remember that any time you're taking from a cam girl should be repaid somehow. We aren't only here to "sell sex" but we sell our time and attention as well, so if you're not taking a girl private for sexy time and just requiring extra attention in PM, via email, via anything outside of cam-time, the girl still deserves some sort of payment for it.

I'll still never call my members that, but if members call themselves that, clearly they aren't the type to take offense to it. I hope you realize my pointing out that I'd not do it wasn't me "chewing you out". We had a healthy discussion and debate about it, and I think a lot of readers got good info from it! :)

No, I was not talking about you hon. You handled yourself and your opinions very maturely, as you almost always do. There were others that did not do the same, in my opinion. That's what I was mainly talking about. :)
So, when is the next debate and where can I sign up?

Lol shall we schedule one? :D

I appreciate how you carry yourself here on the forum. Your posts and opinions are sometimes challenged and you reply thoughtfully and maturely. It's great! Agreeing to disagree respectfully doesn't happen often enough, these days.

Thank you ladies for the replies and as you can probably see I'm new so I'll use the correct terminology "members" funny you all mention information about personal stuff. In our conversations she did give me some very personal info name, location, alternate email. We've exchanges a few emails but nothing big, heck if she's just like me she has several email addresses. I'd like to tell her to be careful about what she discloses to "members" but I don't want her to get the wrong idea and think I'm a pyscho and ban me because of what I know.

I can't see why any model would want to "do stuff" rather than talk, if they're getting paid for it.

If they're like awkward or shy then I can see why they'd rather do something else instead of being put on the spot.

Not everyone is a good conversationalist.

Some models do not want to get to know their "customers". They prefer to keep them faceless nonentities, so they feel less embarrassed on cam I think.

Thats sooo not me lol. I prefer to get to know my guys if theyre willing to get to know me. Most really do, but some prefer just to stay in the shadows and tip only. If they prefer to keep their distance then I let them be. Its their choice. I have no issues talking though, I could talk for days lol.

Some models also find emotionally/mentally engaging with someone for an hour at a time far more exhausting than stripping/masturbating.

I prefer the term client, or maybe "The Johnson Account" :snooty:
Honestly though, the term customer feels a bit crass - under no illusions that it is business (on your end), but some of your "customers" might prefer if it weren't stated quite so bluntly; even though we know you're doing it for the money, part of the fantasy is very often the illusion that you're doing it because you're horny/we're sexy/blah blah blah.

Deja vu? Yup. Fully understand that. :)
Can we get a new debate going??? Pretty please? :-D

I actually genuinely enjoy masturbating and get a little bummed when I don't get to cum. I enjoy conversation in private but only with someone I know well. Jup was right. Conversing with someone you have no relationship with (not a regular) one on one can be very exhausting until you build some sort of rapport.

Sorry, I never saw the previous debate I guess - but for the record out of the 8 models that posted before you only one ever used the word customer, and only once, and it seemed to me more a repeat of the OP's terminology than something she'd use herself :dontknow:

I wasn't referring just to this thread. There's been a couple of other times I've seen the word used but kept my mouth shut. 2 guys and 1 model used it. It could have been a repeat, but I don't think that matters. I was just pointing out that it's nice to see a guy who is not so word sensitive and that it's funny to see other people use it with no repercussion.

IMO I don't think there's anything wrong with using the term customer, because when someone pays you for a service or product, they are a customer. However, not all members are customers so I would refer to those people simply as members.

Customers may turn into regulars and when you begin to develop a relationship with a customer or regular, they become a client/patron - and that is what you want.

The models I think of as my regulars all just think of me as Shaun not as a client or patron. They took the time to get to know me and can almost read my mind when I tip or they do a special project for me.

I realize some models like to keep things all business like though. For those models, patron seems like a nice thing to for me to be called. It seems much more personal than customer.

I don't like wham bam ty ma'am to often, generally my best pvts are with the guys I know and can have some good conversation. I got tipped 200 on paypal the other day for speaking about the book the little prince & it's endless metaphors and that is a truly flaterring tip because its not just tipping to watch me fuck my brains out, its a huge compliment because they enjoy my mind as well & we all know our brain is the biggest sex organ.

You're right, they are customers, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should refer to them that way.

Imagine you know a woman who has been working in a local brothel to make ends meet. Technically, she's a whore. It's a word that describes her profession - that doesn't mean you should refer to her as a whore (assuming she dislikes the term) rather than a term she might prefer, such as escort.

You can call premiums customers if you like, but you should be aware that many find the term impolite and impersonal. After spending time and effort getting these guys interested and their wallets out of their pockets, it would seem pretty stupid to give them a jolt back to reality and remind them they're customers and you're all business. They know they're customers, but you don't need to rub their noses in it, they're spending money on you to feel good.

Some won't care, just as some escorts won't care about being called whores - but lots will.
