Hi guys :hello2: ,
I am still fairly new and know some of you and some of you I do not;So, just in case: Hello I am lilithxxlove!! I have a question for you guys. I keep getting members who comment the fact that I am labeled BBW, and according to them I am not. Here is a picture, you can let me know your opinion(and I am honestly really curious about what you think and will not take offense either way!!).

In all honesty, my real concern is that my "mis-labeled" tags are either driving away potential members or bringing them in and its not what they want? Models have any of you had an issue similar to this? members how much does a model's self-labeling/self-tagging affect your decision to check her out or what not?
*hope that all made sense?*

No, I wouldn't classify you as a BBW by any stretch of the imagination. You're curvy for sure, but not a BBW. And if members are complaining about you having that tag (because they're using it to find actual BBWs) then you should probably take it off your profile. Replace it with 'curvy' or something like that.

Thanks Gemma for answering! I was afraid of this, I have always been classified as BBW and i have recently lost about 80 lbs or so and I guess I didn't really think about the difference when I set all my stuff up!

if you're comfy with the word (apparently it means different things in america than other places) try using the tag thick.

As well as curvy :)

I think to some you'd be in the BBW tag but you may be driving guys away who aren't looking for a BBW but who would enjoy your body type.

One thing to remember, however, is that no matter WHAT tags you have, there are always gonna be guys who try to prove that you're wrong. "Oh, your tag said big tits? You're a D cup; that's not big!" Or like with me, I have "gamer" as one of my tags. Guys constantly come in and try to school me on video games. :woops:

Do what makes YOU happy. If you think you're a BBW, then leave it. Some of the guys might want a bigger girl, but they'll leave. You might still get others who like BBWs, and like you. I kinda think the more tags you have, the better. Because they work so efficiently at helping members see models they would normally just skip over.

Never used the feature. Honestly forgot it existed until I read this thread.

I wish people would use the feature more, but that's mainly directed towards members who want a models who will cater to something the model doesn't offer. For instance, if someone asks me about if I offer something I don't, I immediately give them a lesson on how to use tags (copy pasted as I have to give this lesson too often).

I get how sometimes you find a model who seems to be "just what you're looking for", but why not narrow it down and check out tags before asking about Skype or whatever to a model who's already answered the same question 5 times that day.

So true. I had a guy complain that I was lying about my bra size because I was wearing my normal bra that fits, not the one I fall out of. I had another guy complain that my tits weren't large. They are just trying to rattle your cage. You may not be BBW, but label yourself as curvy, raise your rates and call it a day. Seriously, raising my rates weeded out most of those idiots.

Exactly. I don't see how a tag could drive anyone away. If they were looking for "BBW" an they don't consider you one, they were never going to tip you to begin with. But if they like you, check out your profile, see "BBW," I highly doubt they're going to think, "this girl is a liar! I'm never visiting her room again!"
Sometimes I tag my pictures with "small boobs" and I've had a few guys argue my boobs are not small, but it never stopped them from visiting my room.

I never look for tags, but I see them occasionally when I click on "menu" or look at a profile. The only time I ever take them as positive is if they're funny. Otherwise I either ignore them, feel faintly annoyed when they're obviously not true ("teen" when age is listed as 24, "brunette" when the model has red hair, etc.), probably lose interest if it's something I find a turn-off, or just kind of roll my eyes when they're things like "beautiful, classy, wet, etc." Is someone really going to label herself as being unattractive* or classless? Is she really wet all the time? I guess if I was looking for uncommon stuff, I might find tags more useful, if they were accurate.

Perhaps I'm not being that helpful with this. My advice would be, if you're trying to attract people interested in a specialty of yours, list it -- that might get some people in the door. I can't speak to whether a lot of guys who like curvy would dislike BBW or vice-versa. I would guess maybe list both and if someone decides you're not what they wanted to see, you probably wouldn't have gotten them in the door if you had only the "correct" tag from their point of view anyway. Lolli probably knows better than I do how the categories work though. To the extent I'm concerned with looks, I feel like I can just look at the preview image and get a better idea by looking for myself than I can from tags.

I think Iris is partially correct that it's good to list a lot of tags since you might hit on something a member is looking for: as far as physical characteristics go (eye color, hair color -- if it's going to stay that way a while, skin tone, tattoos or not, piercings or not, etc.), you might as well list them if guys are going to see them anyway. If they're what they wanted, you might gain from it, if they're deal-breakers, most guys probably wouldn't stay around after seeing what they consider a deal-breaker anyway, so you haven't lost anything. A lot of guys will not care about a lot of these very much, so no harm with them. If you have a real interest in something (gamer, sports fan, artist, rock climbing, etc.), that can be good to draw people who like to talk about those things, but expect to get lots of questions about them.

I do think listing some things could potentially lose you some possible members as well as gain them for you though, so I'm not so sure it's good to list them unless they're major things for you. Personally, I'm put off by certain fetishes, so if I actually noticed before I checked a model out, I might think to myself, "I guess she's not right for me." That said, I do like some models who have them listed. I just probably didn't know that before-hand, and I guess they haven't been in-your-face about it enough to bother me since then (or I've moved on but still like them as people).

The other time I'd think twice before listing something is if it's the kind of thing that will get on your nerves if you have to field questions about it a lot. Example: if you're not really into anal but think you might be open to trying it under certain circumstances, I would suggest not listing it if a stream of guys showing up saying "anal?" is going to bother you. If it ends up becoming something you offer regularly, you can always add the tag later.

*There actually is an MFC model named "UglyLucy." That got my attention because it's funny and unusual. And no, she is NOT ugly.

**Edited to fix typos because I'm anal about that sort of thing.

Yeah a tag like BBW probably isn't going to put anyone off, if they see you and find you attractive, they won't suddenly go "oh wait she called herself BBW yuck never mind". Probably the only people who will know you've used that tag are the ones whole searched it. I'd maybe worry about off-putting people with certain fetishes but I doubt you'll drive anyone away by listing it.

The range for who is considered a BBW is so big (ha, ha) that there will always be people looking for something different. You could always leave it but add "curvy" or "thick" as well. If you're getting a lot of people saying you're mislabelled, then take it out! If the tag is directing more disappointed traffic to you than tipping traffic, there's probably no point in using that tag.

Fwiw when I'm browsing as a member, I always search ACF first then BBW when I'm looking to tip! When searching BBW I look at the results and go into the cutest/friendliest looking room. From my perving experiences, there are girls from "I guess she's kinda chubby" to SSBBW but it's usually a good way to narrow it down to what I'm looking for.

I completely agree with your post, but I feel like showing a portion the other side.

Let's say the model is a blonde who occasionally dyes her hair brunette, and you put your natural hair color as blonde, and members just assume you're lying on your profile...especially when members come into chat to point it out.

I think the reason your post jumped out at me was when I put my actual age people constantly would jump down my neck about, how I should claim I'm younger, or assume I put my age as older so people wouldn't ask about me living with my parents. I kinda snapped and started claiming on my profile that I was younger. I put on social stuff as a joke, and the only people who EVER asked, were those who'd been in my chat for years (and were hoping I hadn't been underage camming). I don't know why people always found such an issue with me being my actual age, but ermagherd it was once a day! When I took off the age, that would be the topic of the day...every day....asking my age, and telling me how old I actually looked. Even my mfc mail, and I hardly get mfc mail. The funniest part was people not telling me I looked older, but that I "don't talk like a 19 year old, but if I had to guess your age I'd say 24 at the oldest."

I recently changed my age to 42, as a joke after some guy freaked out when I showed a clip of mine from a few years ago, thinking I'd get in trouble for underaged stuff. I now keep that as my age teen in my tags. When people ask I claim my real age is somewhere in the middle. Nobody has bothered me since I did that, so probably keeping that lie. Also, no I'm not embarrassed of my actual 27yrs of age.

Sorry if it comes off as ranty...not meaning it that way, but I think I had slight PTSD by the end of it.

I'm 95lbs and get labeled BBW on pretty much every single video that's ever been uploaded of me. I swear people just don't know what it means half the time.

Yeah, I totally understand that people can be weird about age, plus some models have said they don't want to post it accurately because it helps stalkers dig up info. It just strikes me as off when I see a contradiction. Just out of curiosity, my choice would be to see accurate info, but I understand the reasons not to give it. I would probably just not fill in birth info at all and let it default to a hundred and something (this is what I did on my member profile).

Actually, when I see an age like 42, I usually get a bit excited and hope it's true (which it rarely is) just because I think it would be neat to have more models closer to my age.

I know a lot of models change hair color a lot. I'd just suggest updating your tag when you do. Saves you from having members bitch about it. Or, as some models put it, you could say "always different."

Harmless Squirrel:

I have hair that under some light looks blonde, most light looks brown with varying types of highlights, and half the time looks very red on camera. Red enough that I was labelled an honorary member of the ginger brigade, and had a few guys take me to task for it.

The true color of my hair is all the colors. Seriously, if I take one strand of hair and look at it in the light, it shines blonde, red, brown, and white.

My point here is: maybe her hair really is brunette, but her camera shows it as red some days and brunette on others, so she doesn't change her profile.

My hair doing this is the reason that I dye it. I got tired of people arguing with me over what color it was, so I picked the one I liked best.

I hadn't meant to be picky about hair color in particular; was just meant as an example of tags that didn't match facts in evidence. Not the best example, I guess. Also, I don't think having imperfect tags is a hanging offense -- it just sort of makes me think of them (tags) as not very reliable.

When I first started I had the BBW tag. That picture looks like we are the same size. I took it off because I'd actually have BBW guys come in and bitch that I wasn't. All those words just mean something different to everyone. I would put curvy. Every guy who comes in my room who digs my body uses that term so I assume that means that's a tag they are likely to search for and/or click on.

I often wondered how often the guys actually use the search tag.

I typically just check out whoever on the 1st page and then search the acf tag for lady friends to say hi to.

:shifty:

Kyra that is how I did it at first too. Then i started using the tags to search and OMG there is a lot of great models that just don't get as much attention because most people search the exact same way...check out the first page and then search for exactly who I want. I try to remind all the members that come through my room to use the search tags because there is some amazing girls falling through the cracks!! Or your preferences, change the sort order to random models instead of by camscore and you will see these sneaky sirens who are beautiful and have great personalities but fall through the cracks because of camscore and not being on the top / first page!!

For sure I imagine there's a boatload of ladies who put in the effort and wind up lost in translation underappreciated! I wish there was a row/location on page 1 that would feature random ladies on rotation or something. (Obviously the new model status is there, but that's not what I'm talking about)
