Have you ever known someone who suffered from porn addiction?
Why did they think it was gross and wrong?Yes, actually a few people. One was a good friend of mine, and he suffered a lot from it. I think the main part that caused his addiction was the more he tried to avoid it. Which seems to be the issue with every single porn addict I've ever known. They thought porn was gross and wrong but found themselves addicted to it simply because they tried to get so far away from it. Really sad, honestly.
I think that conservative christians are a lot more likely to get addicted to porn because they are sexually repressed. When I looked up pornography addiction support groups on Google, almost all of them were faith based. It depends on the person, those specific guys were intensely religious and thought it was sinful. But I've heard other non-porn addicted guys give perspectives about them not liking it for being exploitative to the women. So some guys don't like it because they feel it hurts them, some don't like it because they feel it hurts the girls. Both are understandable but can be taken to the extreme.
Porn addiction is a form of sexual addiction. It is an addiction, an addiction is anything that interferes with your social life, relationships, school or work. What defines the addiction is the negative affect.I think that conservative christians are a lot more likely to get addicted to porn because they are sexually repressed. When I looked up pornography addiction support groups on Google, almost all of them were faith based.
I'm addicted to toilet paper, I use it every time I go to the bathroom. I tried to stop but I couldn'tAshe Maree said something the other day on Twitter like "there are people who are addicted to eating toilet paper, that doesn't mean toilet paper is addicting" I totally think that there are people addicted to porn, but I don't think that porn is inherently addicting.
