Hello!

Since I've started MFC, I've always opted to have a Cheque sent to me instead of having applied to Payoneer.
Recently, I've signed up to Payoneer, but after reading all about the potential fees and withdrawal limits at atms--I'm not sure its the right option for me anymore.

So I ask this to any models who are in a similar situation as I am with these additional bits of Info, to give me any advice as to what are the pros and cons of Payoneer.
-Can I withdraw money at a CIBC ATM that allows US fund withdrawals? ( I currently live in Canada )
-If so--what is the limit of each withdrawal from specifically CIBC ATMS with US Fund Withdrawal?
-Can I go up to a bank teller and get them to personally withdraw the funds from the Payoneer account? If so, could they withdraw it for me in US funds or would they be forced to convert it to CND funds?

Thanks!

Hi, Poppy! I'm in Canada too, and I avoid USD cheques like a plague. They take about two weeks to get here, and up to 3 weeks to clear. Unless you find a bank that can push them through faster for you, they're really not a great option.

If you can set up a US bank account (both TD and RBC offer them), you may be able to opt for ACH deposits, which would probably be the best route if possible. If you need help with this, feel free to send me a PM and I can give you more details.

For sites that don't offer ACH, I have used the Payoneer card, and typically withdraw from CIBC. I've never tried withdrawing it in USD (never even noticed an option for it), so I always end up withdrawing in CAD and eating the conversion rate. ATM limits are usually a grand in CAD, but you can make multiple transactions in a row. Fair warning, though -- if the ATM is out of money and the withdrawal doesn't go through, you WILL have a hold on your Payoneer account for 5-7 days. It's obnoxious like that.

And that's the main downside to Payoneer right there-- higher fees, shittier conversion rates & more hiccups than other options. Some ladies have also have issues with fraud, money loss, etc, though I haven't personally (knock on wood).

I've never tried to withdraw from a teller, so I can't help you there either.

The upside to using Payoneer is that it's much, much, much quicker than getting USD checks, and that's really the only reason why I use it when I don't have another option, though it's also convenient if you ever take trips over the border or if you make a lot of USD purchases.

Sorry I can't answer all of your questions, maybe someone else will be able to. :)

I will say the biggest worst thing about them is not only the fees for every single thing you do with it but they are not FDIC insured. Meaning if your card has money taken off of it for any reason like theft or fraud they not only do not back you up but they are not legally obligated to do any investigation or give you your money back. It's happened more than once to girls and they basically can tell you tough luck. You would be better off getting an account that can get direct deposit or even renting a US address to get something like a RushCard or something. Yes still fees with a rushcard but it's direct deposit and much less fees plus it's FDIC insured. You can use it as a bank account to get direct deposit cause you get an account and routing number as well.

This has happened to me with every Payoneer card I've had (I've had 2 or 3). I remember the embarrassment of having my card declined at a Payless store when trying to buy my son shoes. It turned out that someone had used my card info to make a Walmart purchase. I had to come up with like $30 to send Payoneer for them to send me a new card in the mail.

Actually, you've given me so much more information than I ever expected! Thanks! This helps me make my decision much easier! :h: xx

Hey Poppy,

Maybe a little off topic but i am currently working on a new payment system for models and aslo setting something up so credit card companies can be avoided (read: chargebacks). I have been reading up a lot on payoneer and other payment methods...which are all...well, i won't curse...horrible to use.

So my question to you (and to any other girl who reads this), would you prever to get paid in BitCoins instead of cheque or payoneer?

Search bitcoin here and you'll see most of us won't use it and why. I really see no way for you to get around using credit cards and still be successful ad that's what most members will use to pay and prefer it that way.

What about Payza?

I'm ultimately not interested in getting paid in a currency that has zero real-world value. Like, you might as well be trying to pay me in tokens -- if my bank doesn't recognize and exchange it, I'm not interested in it outside of the odd giftcard.

Never heard of it or used it.

It's not adult-transaction friendly. :/

Also, reading back my last post, yikes.
I blame my full-on snark on the lack of coffee.
Either that or I REALLY hate the idea of BitCoin.
Sorry. XD

It puts regulations on adult services, but its not banned https://www.payza.com/legal#acceptable_use

Aaah, interesting. I didn't think that they allowed adult transactions at all, though I wonder what kind of additional fees we'd be talking about here, because there's already a fee to recieve funds (at least in Canada).

Edit:
http://www.wecamgirls.com/payment_reviews/payza/?show_mobile=1 <-- Okay, so I'm not going totally nuts, they haven't always been adult content / porn friendly. I'd definitely want to read their full TOS before giving them a try.

I've had a Payoneer card for a few years and have *personally* had zero problems with it. It's been reliable and easy for me, as a Canadian. Im not sure if I signed up during a promotion (as I've heard of that happening) or just don't notice because of the exchange rate but I've never found the fees to be excessive. Especially now, haha, with our exchange. Just wanted to say that while I've heard of other girls having issues with it, I haven't personally. And again it might be because of our shitty dollar but I haven't had an issue with the conversion rate, though I'm sure it is weak compared to a bank.

Overall it's been pretty convenient for me (especially when I was on MyGirlFund where you could cash out anytime, I remember ordering a pizza and realizing I couldn't find my debit card, so I just cashed out to Payoneer and made small talk for ten minutes until it came through, lol) but definitely your experience may differ.

I definitely wouldn't sign up for a camsite that only paid out in Bitcoin, or that wanted to go around credit card companies. That sounds sketchy as hell.

Thank you very much Guy, I never heard of Payza and will look into it!

Thank you too GenXoxo (love your picture by the way), the reason why i want to go around credit card companies is the chargeback problem. A guy buys a vid, charges it back, and money is gone... about paying in bitcoin, I'm also trying to prevent the huge fees you get charged by companies like payoneer or being paid by bank transaction.

I'd definitely want to read their full TOS before giving them a try.

Thank you too Tristyn!

I get checks depending on If I made payout or not on Streamate, I would cash them at money mart $2.99 plus 3% and the exchange rate.

It was more of convenience. with my payoneer card I was on their Global bank transfer now as of recent they are no longer offering it to Canadians so my only option now with them is to have the money on the card and withdrawl from a ATM.

Good to know they don't protect against fraud I guess I will treat them like I do my money mart prepaid visa now mastercard. Instantly when money drops on the card I will withdrawl. Yes the exchange is in a funny place but that is what we get for making money in another currency.

Payoneer also has the option for wire transfer $15 fee then the exchange rate and your receiving bank has their own fee. I had this briefly when I first got my payoneer card but that was when I didn't know they had me set up on the wrong system. took a month to sort it out.

I use to get that when I started out camming in 2003 til like 2007. but back then I was only working on cams dot com and I was making enough money where I didn't even notice the double fees from the sender and my bank.

I am thinking if payoneer load on the card option because too much of a pain handling fees I will just keep getting check and use money mart. I already know how they operate and they haven't changed since I started camming.
