Outlander

I just watched the first episode of "Outlander" titled "Sassenach". I haven't read the books by Diana Gabaldon that the show is based on, but the show is pretty damn good! It's produced by Ronald D. Moore who produced the reboot of "Battlestar Galactica", so that was a draw for me. I can't wait to get caught up on the series.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has checked it out, and what your thoughts were?

Me too. I didn't know how I'd feel about it from the description but it's pretty good writing. Now I'm in the same boat having to wait. :icon-cry:

Welp, now it's midseason break for this. Not back til like April or something like that. At least Mr Moore did not decide to go down the "HOLY FUCK WHAT?!" cliffhanger midseason break thing he did with BSG, at least.

I was not expecting this to be... well, good at all, despite Moore attached. It sounded like a shitty romance novel, in concept. But thankfully, it is not really that at all.

Thought I'd give this a bit of a bump since the first season ended a month or so back and it's being given a second season. Well worth a watch. It's nice to see a strong female lead who isn't just there to be rescued. It has some very hard watch and thought provoking scenes especially in the second half of the season.

This is a fantastic show, I can't wait for the next season. The main gent is most certainly worthy of "eye candy" status, red hair = bonus.
