I bought the DVDs of season 1, cause, ya know, extras... Morello is actually Australian, I think it was. So weird, man.

This season was excellent! I feel like all of the characters are so great, even the douchebags have their moments.

Larry & Polly seemed so weird, though - maybe because we only saw bits & pieces but it seemed kind of quick!
I loved Pornstache's exit speech and Caputo's excitement to fire him.
And I definitely teared up when Suzanne was crying with the Uno cards :crybaby: she was amazing this season, loved her backstory.

Ready for season three now :mrgreen:

Right! I loved the whole thing I finished it in a day and a half which is why I didn't cam much oops it was worth it tho...am I the only that was surprised by some of the things in this season?
 
i got one of my roommates into watching it and he was watching the first season in the living room while I was almost finished with the second... so I would see bits and pieces while going back to season 2 in my room :lol:
Besides that I hadn't re-watched season one, just saw it last year but seeing them at the same time like that, it is better. The acting seems better too.

Am I the only one who's really pissed at Polly and Larry? I mean that was just... :angry4:

The ending was perfect and I just hope that Nicky doesn't relapse. She was staring awful hard at all that heroin....

If I went to this prison...I'd probably have a love square with Nicky, Poussey, and Alex(when she comes back). They're all just so great.

I love poussey! She is so hot in her flashbacks, I was girl crushing so hard, and I really wanted to wear like all of her clothes! i dunno if you are that far yet.

Hands down most satisfying ending to a season I've seen in a while though. love OITNB!

This whole season made me not feel bad for Piper at ALL, but when Polly and Larry asked for her blessing? Oh good lord. I couldn't even fucking deal with it. That was bullshit on the highest.

OMG I was tricked by a stupid FaceBook post that said season 3 was cancelled...I am so gullible!! I LOVE this show so I was relieved to find it was just a hoax.

I feel so in the minority.

I was completely disappointed with season 2.

The first 4 episodes were incredibly slow and pointless. It took me forever to finish the season because those first episodes really dragged.

Vee had so much potential. But after a couple of "surprise" betrayals, it became pretty obvious that she was going to lose her gang eventually. For me, they rushed her character to power, and then took the power away too quickly. It didn't even make sense that she went after Red herself if the plan was to blame Crazy Eyes. Why not just SEND Crazy Eyes? She kicked the shit out of Poussey earlier and would have gladly done in Red too. By the end, I didn't give a fuck about her and it was a non-event when she got smashed at the end.

Also, how come when Red gets her face caved in, it prompts a big investigation. Yet when an old white lady fucking STABS ANOTHER INMATE, it's a non-issue? What's the difference? That was stupid.

What Larry and Polly did was pretty sketchy, but now that they no longer have any attachment to Piper, I want them to go away. The writers basically wrote them out of the show at this point. Why should we care about them moving forward?

Piper's brother is awesome. He needs to stay.

The highlight of the season for me was Poussey. She stole the season IMO. She had easily the most interesting back story. And she had the most intense present day story. They got everything right with her storyline and I loved it.

Second for me, Miss Rosa. Her back story was pretty fun. Her "heist" in the hospital with the kid was fun. Her escape at the end was fun. I do wish they had actually had her die in the season finale. She was given a couple weeks to live, so she steals the van and goes. I would have loved to see her end it on her terms as the last scene of the season. Having that carry over to the next season seems a little pointless as she obviously won't be in season 3 long.

I haven't had a chance to watch the latest season (no Netflix) of the show yet, but I did read the book.

I really liked this interview of the real life Piper on the Newshour http://www.pbs.org/newshour/art/piper-kerman-orange-new-black-answers-questiosn/
A couple things surprised me. I always thought that Taylor Schilling was much too pretty to play Piper, but after seeing how good the author looks at 44, I bet she really looked fabulous at 30.
Second Piper says that she was chaste the entire time she was in prison. The books left the issue in doubt.

It took me four episodes to realize that Alex was Laura Prepon. Her playing a lesbian just fulfills SO many teenage fantasies, oh wow.

I loved Rosa taking out Vee. You GO, girl! I cheered for her so loud when she did that.

I kinda want to see Nikki fuck Piper. And Alex. And me.

When I finished the last episode I was already pissed I have to wait a year before season 3.. I'm not used to watching shows that are current so this really.. really sucks!

I'm late but I want to jump in and agree that Poussey is ridiculously hot. And oh my god her flashback episodes were just so good. :h:

Can they just kill off Piper and make the show about Poussey? Also Taystee.

Their friendship is the best.
The new season broke my heart when she kept pushing Poussey away because of her psychopath mom. Yay for Vee being hit with a car.

I know Taystee is supposed to be straight but if they get together by the end of the show I'm going to be so happy.


Maybe it's just me but I hate Piper's character. I dislike her, her husband, and their families. If it weren't for her back and forth with Voss she'd be completely useless in my opinion. I get that the entire show revolves around her character, as Piper Kerman is the author. But real-life Kerman wasn't as obnoxious and unlikable as Chapman is. I guess they're just using her numerous faults as a device for showing the strengths of the supporting characters but holy fuck they're doing it too much. The main character is no longer relatable, she's just a constant whirlwind of selfishness and bad ideas.

For those who don't know who Ruby Rose is, she's an Australian actress, model, DJ, and is also gay. I think she'll fit in great with the cast for season 3 (and possibly beyond).

I was determined not to run through the whole of Season Two in a week like I did with Season One but possibly went too far in the other direction and only just finished it despite having started it almost a year ago. I'm very much ready for Season Three now. I loved Rosa's ending, didn't feel at all bad for Vee, was surprised to find myself warming to Healey, can already see Caputo turning in to Fig 2.0, still love Red, still love Morello, don't really get Larry and Polly, and find myself less interested in Piper and Vause and much more interested in the supporting characters.
